This season seems to be the most "this seems made up" of all the seasons, even knowing that every season has certainly had a lot that didn't actually happen. Was Mou Mou really basically responsible for Dodi and Diana's deaths? The show seems to be pushing him as the real cause, even more than their driver having a few drinks before driving them or the paparazzo chasing them around Paris, and the real villain of the story, which seems...iffy to me.

I have no idea if anything like that conversation between Dodi and Diana really happened, but I like to think that it did and that they both had a moment of peace before it ended. Dodi was a loser who treated both his fiancé and then Diana awfully, but I did feel for him trying so hard to make his father actually care about him, Diana said all of the right things to him.

You're right about the "seems made up".  How would anyone know that Mou Mou called the paparazzi?  Nobody knows if Dodi proposed, so anything to do with that is made up.  Anything that passed between Diana and Dodi in private will never be known.  There's a lot of what transpired that summer that can never be known, so the writers had to get creative with these episodes.  This show is not a documentary, it's fictionalized.

I wonder if (even though it's moot now) Diana ever traveled in a vehicle with tinted windows?  Seems like that might have been able to keep the paps away to an extent.

Dorit ordered distilled water at the restaurant. I googled, “Can I order distilled water at a bar?” Google gave me many links to CPAP use.

    😄

She ordered still water--as opposed to sparkling.

But for a person whose drink order mentions lemon carcasses, I can see why it would seem Dorit would have a strange drink order like that.

I think Miranda filling in for the director makes sense. She was a lawyer for 30 years or so, those two young women are probably right out of college, and the one couldn't even get some facts correct. Miranda took an intern position so she could work for the organization, she is much more qualified to fill in than two young women who are right out of college.

Besides the fact they're rude AF.

I try not to let tv shows bother me, but this show making Miranda apologize more than once about her privilege in this internship really bothered me.  Miranda's character paid her dues in law firms for 30 years.  That's not privilege.  That's a lot of hard work for probably longer than the other two interns have even been alive.

The Lowell line that makes me laugh every time is when Joe was dating the 19-year-old and Lowell said, "Joe Hackett at a Pearl Jam concert? Ha! Ha ha! Pearl Bailey, maybe."

This episode lives on my DVR.  One of Lowell's best lines.  And he had a lot of good ones.

  5. I don't get the beach picnics either.  If I'm paying and tipping as much as these yacht trips cost, I'm staying on that boat until they throw me off.

On top of that, that beach was awful.  I'd have been upset about that excursion too.

I don't get the serving Indian food because the guests were Indian.  When I travel, I would want to eat the local food.  I live in New Orleans--when I visit family in Dallas, I don't look for creole and cajun restaurants there.

And while I'm on a roll, I don't get the dining with the captain and partying with the crew.  Do these guests really think the captain and crew want to dine and party with them?

I hope this is all producer driven and not guest choice.  Has anyone every come across any behind the scenes stuff from the guest perspective?

I was a bit bored by this episode. I think I didn't immediately cotton on to the significance of the opening scene, and it went on too long before Dodi was born and I just stopped caring. And I was confused about the scene with Mohamed putting a pill in Sydney's mouth right before his death - if this were not a historical drama based on real people, I would have thought that Mohamed killed Sydney. What was that supposed to be about?

The camera panned past a bottle of morphine tablets right before.  He was giving Sydney a pain pill.

It was very touching how Mou Mou cared for Sydney at the end.  It choked me up a little bit.

    Loved this episode!

  7. I was kind of bummed when I saw that this season wouldn't be in tropical location.  But my goodness Sicily is absolutely gorgeous.

The two wealthy couples don't seem to know each other very well to be travelling together.  The posters who have theorized that Cameron is possibly trying to get money out of them might be on to something.

Thank goodness Tanya got a prenup. But if she dies, does Greg inherit? 😦

Maybe, maybe not.  It depends on how her will is written.

Hmmmm, notice the carefully staged placement of the women so that each would be equally visible by the camera. A staged scene. How much of these episodes is actually reality and how much is just putting on a show? How much is the audience being manipulated?

0% reality.  100% audience manipulation.  The hostess leaves the dinner venue and goes off to fight with her co-workers.  Who does that at a real charity event/benefit?  It was so fake how just the howives claimed they getting cold just so they could go off to fight.

Regarding Dorit moving to Diana's apartment.  In the aftershow she says she had a panic attack.  That she was in a wing of the house by herself and had a panic attack. That Diana had earlier offered her a room in the apartment/hotel she was staying in (3 bedrooms) so Dorit called her up to take her up on that offer.

During this interview Erika tries to say she told Dorit to come to Kyle's and share her bed and Dorit stops her and says she called Diana first. Something like that.

So the story is she had a panic attack and chose Diana as there was plenty of security at Dianas.

This all happens the night  they haul Erika out from making a further show of herself right?

I will say in Dorit's defense, and this will be the only time, my home was broken into about 10 years ago.  Every room was rummaged through with stuff tossed all over the place.  The house was empty at the time.  I live in a very "safe" area but I am still paranoid to this day.  It's a violation and it really can change the way you feel in your own home.  So in her case, being home and with her children in the same house, I think this will take some time and I understand her difficulties.

Now having said all that I am not sure her moving to Diana's had everything or anything to do with that and wasn't just spurred on by the confrontation that night and Dorit feeling uncomfortable staying with the "enemy".  But I do believe her home was broken into and I do think it will take a long time to shake that reality for her.

No.  She went to the hotel the night before they hauled Erika out.

The first morning when Rinna is in the kitchen looking for Stevia, Kyle tells her about Dorit leaving at midnight.

Since he was their lawyer, could he testify against anyone?

I believe he could testify, but would be disbarred for violating attorney client privilege.

However, this would be a moot issue in Saul's case because I'm sure he'd never be able to practice law again anyway.

So it could be to his advantage to possibly reduce his sentence.

  11. Maybe since Jeff is the one who recognized Saul at the mall, he may have mentioned the encounter to Marion.  So it's possible she had an inkling about his identity, but it was his ready knowledge of bail procedures in Albuquerque that make it click with her.

  12. I like Whitney too.  I wish we'd get to see more of him.

I liked Chleb too, and when he said how he tried to stick with Kathryn, but that she hated everybody and it was hard for him to stay away from everybody I literally laughed out loud.  Then five minutes later, he lost me.

It’s an homage/callback to the 2013 movie “Nebraska,” which predates the Fargo tv series. The movie was also shot in black and white and has some similar themes to BCS. What do you expect Carol Burnett to do and why?

Thanks so much for mentioning this movie.  Looks like it's worth a watch.

Bob Odenkirk is in it.  And it's available on Prime.

Was that the wedding/reception in the desert? I thought I heard the super-boring HW call it an "engagement party" more than once. Also, was Chanel/Ayan* wearing a veil, or did Caroline S. think the blond wig was a veil?

*Can someone please explain this woman's names to me? Is one a last name?

She was not wearing a veil, Caroline S. didn't realize it was a wig and when she bitched about it the editors made sure to do a close shot of Ayan that clearly showed it was her hair.

I wonder how much money Diana's book raised? Rinna probably bought a bunc...nah she's too cheap and most likely only got the free one for being in the book.

Funny how the editors put the chyron saying Diana's purse cost $250k, but when she was admonishing Asher for not watching it closely enough, she said it was a $4 mil purse.

Why does Kyle always beeline and stick herself into the middle of other people's conflicts?? It's so annoying. And then she pontificates instead of facilitates, so it always goes sideways. I hope she was embarrassed watching herself roll around on the dance floor and the couch. Time and place, Kyle.

Interesting that Diana said "Do you need a new villain?" What did she mean? Was she referring to Erika being the previous villain? It seems like Diana is getting coached off camera by the other ladies. Her reactions are oversized compared to what we've seen. I was surprised she went so hot for Garcelle.

I wish for Dorit intense night sweats, hot flashes and weight gain! Shut it Dorit, you have no idea what menopause is like. Yet.

She said quarter and it just sounded like four.

I wonder what kind of excuse Alexia will come up with for this one? Todd may not have been delicate about it but he was right, Alexia is an enabler.

On camera, she flat out lied to the cop at the photo shoot in South Beach in season 2 or 3 when he kicked that cab.  She was one of my favorites until then.

  17. Re the tans on the actors.  I read on IMDB that they had to quarantine for two weeks when the first got to France so Julian told the male actors to get some sun.  And boy did they.  No spray tans here.
