  1. Emma has seen Hook some of his dirty deeds. I loved Emma when the show started but I just can't imagine the Emma in season 1 being with a man like that. She handwaves awful things he has done and I still can't fathom why she would want her son to being around a man like that. And that is also the problem with Regina/Emma friendship. Emma would just handwave Regina basically telling her tha she imprisioned Sidney the whole time and was willing to kill Marian again. I don't know why they are destorying Emma's character to prop up Hook and Regina.
  2. I can understand why people wouldn't want Regina to be with Emma, but I don't think in the same vein that people okay Hook's actions. "When I jab you with my sword you'll feel it," it is not a romantic gesture. Hook left Emma and her family and associates in an inescapable prison. He called her "dried up and useless." Emma and Hook's meeting was finding him under a corpse and him lying about his identity. Hell, Hook was willing to leave everyone to day AGAIN in season 2 by sailing up and only by Regina/Emma's actions they saved the town. So, I don't see how Hook abuse of Emma could leave to romantic entanglement and not Regina. To me, Hook went from one obsession (trying to kill the DO and failed) to another one (pursuing Emma when she really didn't give off anything to express interest when she is trying to save her son). I'll doubt it since there is already a handsome male character that has murdered children, sold them to Peter Pan, and talked abou thow he used drinks as tactics to sleep with women.
  3. I think they made Emma the Dark One to setup for a TLK kiss with Hook. Yes, they may imply that only Merlin could destroy the Dark One curse but this show specializes in last minute magical fixes that was never talked about previous. Having EMMA as a DO is a way to incorporate Hook in a more useful way but this is speculation on my part. But if it is true, they hijacked the Rumbelle/Beauty and the Beast storyline to give it to the eye candy couple of Captain Swan and I'm not okay about it if that is the kiss. Emma/Hook is really not well developed and not an unique interesting storyline, to me so now they decided to make up another new external obstacle instead of developing that couple. Gosh Hook's presence should have ended in NVL.
  4. I think CS is so much better developed than OQ. But my problem with CS is that Hook's actions are completely whitewash and we all need to perceive Hook as a love sick puppy for Emma. I find it troubling in that even in Season 4, Emma still never finds out the bad things Hook got into. It is like the writers intentionally don't have Emma to know about it because it will ruin the relationship. Like Hook blackmailing Rumple and willing to harm Belle. Emma never finding out that Hook never really helped Ariel and Eric reconcile. Her determing if being with Hook is a good choice with his history of children, like how he sold Baelfire to Peter Pan and whether she wants to be in a relationship with a man like that when she has a son. We don't even know if Emma even knows Hook considering we don't even know if she knew he had a brother. How can see say that she trust Hook when Hook seems to only want to present the best side of her to him? Or that is at least how the show frames it.
  5. Hello all. I am new to this board and I find it refreshing to find intelligent OUAT viewers that just don't gobble up the tomfoolery that OUAT give us. The ulitimate problem with OUAT is that, when they introduced new content, it always seem to contradict previously establish information. For instance, let's talk about the Echo Caves. Snow said that wanting a new child was her deepest and darkest secret. Okay, we can buy that. But having season 4 to show that she and Charming stole a baby and regretted it so much, wouldn't that logically make more sense as for as talking about the deepest and darkest secret? And for Snow to kidnap a child is wholly uncharacteristic. Snow's first big bad thing she did was killing Cora. That is why she was so traumatize with that aftermath. If killing Cora was not her biggest crim with the kidnap of Mal's baby, than that episode or two with her self-loathing wouldn't have make sense. This show is just messy. I don't watch any other show that has as much inconsistencies as this one does.
