  1. I think they are truly illegitimate, it's too easy to quickly disprove with DNA testing and I don't see what temporarily keeping Liam off the throne gets them. With Cyrus in charge he can bury that bill, though I think popular sentiment might overrule his will. I agree that revealing her infidelity won't play well with the people.
  2. Ha! One of my theories awhile ago was that Liam and Ophelia might be illegitimate. That paves the way for Jasper to be Cyrus's son - he spawned bastards up and down the country, according to the Queen in one episode - and he is an orphan. My other guess would be Jasper is the King's son but he seemed too hurt by the Queen's infidelity for him to have bastards but I guess you never know. My other theory is Jasper is really MI6 (or 5, not sure which). If I had to bet, I'm going with Cyrus is Jasper's dad. He's a bit kinky, just like his dad. I thought no matter who is the biological father, if a child is born within a marriage, it's considered the legal issue of that marriage and the husband is the official father. I would think Liam would be the legitimate heir no matter what since he was born within a marriage. Maybe DNA does count these days, though. Who was the hottie at the gate? Robert's friend? With details about what really happened to Robert? About time Eleanor thought about what Jasper was doing there in the first place. I'm surprised she pushed the panic button but she loves her dad more than she likes Jasper.
  3. I was waiting for Japer, too, but it wasn't as bad as I thought since the king grew a backbone. I predict Jasper becomes Ophelia's security detail. I think either the queen or the maid had something to do with the stabbing. I suppose it could be a random mugging but the queen burned down that guy's distillery so she's shown she's stone cold and has nefarious connections. Ophelia's "dancing" was laughably bad. Why did they even make her a dance major if she couldn't dance? FML = eff my life
  4. Lol! Joan looks really good for being a million years old but the Queen was gross enough.
  5. http://www.bustle.com/articles/78486-the-royals-jasper-eleanor-actor-tom-austen-talks-a-huge-twist-in-store-for Tom Austen on upcoming twists: Actor Tom Austen, who plays the brooding bodyguard, weighs in: “All I can say is that there is a huge twist in the season coming up very soon and everything changes from there on in,” he says. “All of the characters have to adapt and change to the enormity of the situation at hand, and the way Jasper and Eleanor deal with it together is really interesting and tells you a lot about how both of them really feel,” he admits. Adding: “OK STOP! Im not telling you anything else.” But we did get a few more salacious morsels out of the British actor. When I asked him if he received mountains of hate mail from Jasper/Eleanor shippers after his character slept with the Queen, he gave a resounding, “Yep!” Adding: “The response me and Al have had from fans is huge. We are so proud of it because we both put so much into these characters, and really properly, genuinely care about them being good together.” “It really seems like everyone cares as much as we do,” he says. “But of course the flip side of it is that anytime either one of the characters does something really, truly bad to one another, people get upset. And I’m sorry to say if the last episode upset you… I wouldn’t put the Kleenex away just yet.” Hmm, I wonder what this big twist will be. Will he get prosecuted for treason? Robert isn't really dead and comes back? Jasper turns out to be royal?
  6. I was thinking that, too, about Eleanor having withdrawal symptoms over that weekend. I mean, she went half a day without drugs touring all the charities and was jittery enough at the rehab place the girl remarked on it. The only time I like Ophelia is when she is with Eleanor. Then she is kind of fun, otherwise she's really dull. Re: power and underlings - even Eleanor was a bit handsy with Jasper in the wine cellar in the first episode when he was being bumbling newbie security guy. And then she slept with him and was ready to have him fired before he turned the tables on her. Eleanor is a proto-harasser. The only decent Royal seems to be the King. I guess Liam, too, since he doesn't have to harass people to get sex. I like Beck, too, but he's married so that door is shut. IMDB mentions Robert in a description for an upcoming episode so I think we might get to see him/the past.
  7. I was wondering about Jasper's parentage, too. Wouldn't he have to be a UK citizen to become Royal Security? Having British parents would explain his ability to hop between accents well. It might explain part of his motivation to keep this job at all costs. I had thought he was going to be tried for treason - if Eleanor doesn't corroborate his reasons for leaving her detail (I wonder what he said) - because of his lying about his background on official documents, not that it had anything to do with his parent's history. I agree that Jasper didn't bed the queen willingly. I hope it's a one and done thing since it's gross, and I hope Helena doesn't torture Eleanor with it. The queen is mean enough to her, she doesn't need more ammunition against her. This is a tough show to watch since there are so many people doing ugly things to each other on it. Since Jasper was forewarned, maybe Jasper made an audio tape of the queen coercing him and will be able to keep her from using him further/firing him. The queen is ruthless and has a lot of power so I worry about Jasper keeping his job/staying alive, though IMDB shows Tom Austen in all 10 episodes this season.
  8. The episode was so flat without a Jasper / Eleanor scene to spice it up. Now Jasper has had a taste of being coerced into sex, too. Isn't he guaranteed to get fired now that the king has seen him? If he was run out of Vegas, how is his next move to go to England and work for the Royal family? What does working security for the Royal family get you in life? Not getting his storyline or motivations at all. Did he sleep with Eleanor the first night out of attraction/opportunity or was it part of some plan? It makes sense to be deliberate but then he quits her detail because she pushes back a little? He had no choice other than to go work for the queen and it's interesting that Ted gave him a heads up about the queen. Though, I swear it was hinted that Ted slept with the queen a few episodes back - when he was going to check her bedroom after the garden party. Beck does seem like a good match for Eleanor but why can't he leave his wife? I'd put his age at late 20s. This was such a blah episode and they ruined all my Jasper-Eleanor shipping once he had to put out for the queen. Is the king headed for an affair with the maid now?
  9. http://hollywoodlife.com/2015/04/15/the-royals-jasper-queen-episode-6-sneak-peek/ OMG! Jasper requested a transfer and is going to be working for the Queen now. Plot twiiiissst!!!!!
  10. ^^This. Mr. Las Vegas totally overplayed his hand on this one. What I can't figure out, was Episode 1 meek bumbling Jasper-in-the-wine-cellar an act or the real Jasper? In everything else he's been competent as a bodyguard or full of swagger I'm the boss in bed so why did they portray him that way? Sloppy writing for more drama with the twist at the end of the episode or is there still more to Jasper? Supposedly he has lots of secrets so I really hope there is more to the storyline than this 50 Shades of Frost bs because that would be boring. It makes his character seem really weak. I want layers. I think it's her rebelling at his 'I own you' speech to her. I assume he's going to show up in Monaco next week so it'll be interesting to see how he handles that.
  11. So the Jasper storyline is just a 50 Shades thing? I was hoping for something more noble and/or complex I guess. Their scenes were still hot and I swear she totally grabbed his junk IRL - he kind of jumps at one point - in the tunnel scene. I knew she was going to fly the coop and not be waiting for him. It'll be interesting to see where things go from here with them and how he reels her back in. The uncle is deliciously bad.
  12. Yeah, the I drugged you/have a video tape of you storyline is troublesome. Even if Jasper didn't do actually those things, letting her think he did is extremely manipulative at best. Maybe even royally manipulative. What if Jasper is Cyrus's son (after all, we now know Cyrus has a lot of bastards running around the country) and a potential heir to the throne? That fits a little into the Camden orphan story point. In order for the story not to be disgustingly creepy, Liam and Eleanor could not be Simon's kids - maybe they are the product of Helena's affair with Captain Lacey. I swear someone on this board wrote it was hinted that Liam and Eleanor are not Simon's kids but I didn't pick up on that. A storyline like this is appropriately nighttime soap opera over-the-top convoluted. Having some sort of royal blood explains Jasper's rather autocratic attitude when he is the real Jasper behind closed doors with Eleanor.

  15. I found Eleanor's drug use really sad in this episode. Previously, she just seemed like a hard core party girl but now we know she is a straight up addict. I am afraid of how dark the show will go with her before she pulls out of it. I am sticking with my theory that Robert sent Jasper to help Eleanor, to keep her from spiraling out of control even further. Jasper seems pretty capable in a military way - he took charge in the car crash, he knocked the swimmer out with a neck pinch - so he and Robert know each other from the military. The show was super secretive about how Robert died so from that I believe Robert was in military intelligence. Jasper owed Robert some huge debt and is taking care of Eleanor as repayment. Their sexual relationship is a side effect of pure attraction. I find their relationship the most interesting on the show, probably because the two of them are playing a dark game you don't often see portrayed on TV series. It's obvious she finds being bossed around a turn on, otherwise she wouldn't keep sleeping with him. She tells herself that he coerces her - even though he asks every time if this is what she wants - and therefore doesn't have to admit to herself that she has feelings for him. This way she can remain emotionally detached. As he reminded her last week, she can always push the panic button so they are mutually into their game.
