If Adela had said that to my face, I would have told her that at least I didn't choose money over my kids.

I don't get the Adela love.  She's in recovery, sure and that's a great thing.  But her tears over her kids piss me off because it's like she's making her children's decision all about her.  She was in the disease when her children were young and right now they don't want to be with her.  That can change in the future, maybe Adela should focus on recovery instead of being on this show.

You seem to accept Caroline'S accusation as a fact. Adela's denies it and we don't know the whole truth.

Not getting the Adela love either

After hearing her back story, including choosing to stay with her rich 2nd husband even though he didn't want her kids around, why on earth would you be in a reality show & subject your kids to having to deal with the viewing audience knowing all this.

I'm guessing she needs the paycheck for all her legal bills & Stan got her in the show to help her out.

But man, this is not the way to try & ingratiate your way back to your kids' life

I know that Adela's kids hated her 2nd husband, but where did you hear that he didn't want them around?

I think Fleming rebelled thus making her the black sheep. She became a model instead of going to school. She divorced her husband, hooked up with a younger man and had a baby, etc. Flem once said that the women that her father dated never liked her and that influenced his opinion of her. It's like she's a desperate child craving Daddy's attention and just wants him to love her. Her mom seemed much more down to earth. That being said, she's not perfect. She talked to the press about his health and then it's all, "Oops!" yet she never takes responsibility.

Caroline Stanbury I'm done with.  Yes, yes, we get it. You have no emotions or you don't show them. Anyone who needs to bang on about it has issues. If someone stole her Gucci handbag she's probably burst into tears. (And then buy a new one.) I think she just lacks empathy and feels uncomfortable discussing emotions/emotional situations.

I like Adela, I think there is more to her story though. Her kids might have had to help take care of her after she passed out drunk or maybe she showed up to a school event blitzed out of her mind. Who knows. I feel bad for her, but she needs to take care of herself and heal and then her kids might want to rebuild their relationship with her.

Juliet has cute kids with British accents.

ITA about CF and Adela. As for CS, someone would have to pinch one of her Birkin to make her bawl.

I thought Julie looked very pretty with her Adela makeup, and updo.  I actually paused to make sure it was Julie.

I may have started disliking Stanbury less, but if she truly tells Adela she chose money over her children, I'm completely done with her.  It was heartbreaking when everyone in Scotland was with their husbands, and/or talking to their kids, and then we see Adela face timing her dog.

As unpleasant as Juliet may be at times, she seems to be a wonderful mother.  I like all the scenes with her family.

I was aghast when I saw that preview of CS and Adela. If CS really makes that accusation, I don't see how Adela could be in the same room with her, let alone film with her. Adela's situation is godawful. What could have happened that her ex wouldn't allow her even supervised visits with the children? She says that her ex has not permitted her to have any contact with the children in 2 years, and the kids are apparently ok with this. I can'take even imagine. She did remarry and divorce. I wonder what went on in the second marriage and if that had any bearing on her custody problems.

I found Juliet tolerable in this episode, which was one of the pleasanter this season, imo.

Stanbury makes a lot more sense now that we've seen her parents.

Fleming's family has issues with her because:

    • she divorced Rory for basically no reason. Fleming split from Rory because the marriage had become boring. Though she did have a legitimate beef with his desire to ship the kids off to boarding school at 6 years old. Rory also dumped a ton of money into renovating the castle. Her family is land rich and cash poor. The dude is handsome and has a billion dollars. He even filmed a reality show with her.  When they split, he still gave her family money to finish the renovations.
    • she later took up with a much younger footballer and had his kid out of wedlock. That's the kid that we've seen on the show.

I can't imagine that Sophie's kids don't know about the split. Sophie and Alex don't live together. Her kids are young, but they aren't morons.

    Julie is exhausting.

I suspect your 1st bullet point is the main reason. Didn't the stepmother accuse Caroline of having left (in the sense of abandoned) them? And didn't Caroline say at one point about her marriage that she couldn't live without live and that money wasn't everything? The family might have been counting on a steady stream of Fleming millions. Your 2ND bullet point just added fuel to the fire.

It seems like Matt is new money though- his father is a lawyer and then became mayor of Cardiff; his mom owned a jewelry shop. There might be someone in their history that has some title, but every article about Matt implies that he is a 'self-made millionaire'. Matt owned a lot of clubs and pubs, so that might be how he met Caroline.

Matt is new money. He's known Caroline S and Sophie for years because of the club circles they frequented. He's also a well-liked, affable guy with impressive connections from the heyday of Boujis. But Matt is not an aristocrat himself. You don't have to have a title to be an aristocrat, but generally you'll come from from a "landed" or "old" family that may be distantly related to nobility. Being part of an elite group doesn't qualify you. Marrying an aristocrat doesn't make you one. (For example, Kate Middleton and Julie are not aristocrats.) It will get you accepted, at least superficially, into aristocratic circles.

Julie has shown that she does want to come between Caroline and Sophie. I hope Sophie notices...

And I agree, Juliet is not happy in England. She likes living in America. Marissa married a british aristocrat and now gets to be friends with elites and royals. She's living her dream. I think Juliet would be perfectly fine living in the US and celebrating Thanksgiving.

Matt Hermer is not an aristocrat. The only LOL who married one is Julie.

Marissa seems to be dealing with postnatal depression.  Between her traumatic pregnancy and hysterectomy she is in hormone hell and is totally physically and emotionally exhausted.  The last thing she needed was to be subjected to CarolineS and her minion Juliet.  It was appalling that these two self centered woman could not see how Marissa was struggling.  Neither of these women have an ounce of empathy.

If you want your blood to boil even more, pop over to twitter when you get a chance and see the venom Caroline Stanbury is pouring on Marissa, even ridiculing her word choice.

  9. The Scotland trip seems to have been shot after production was supposed to have wrapped, according to the cast's Instagrams this fall. I'm guessing the producers did not feel there was enough conflict in the season and added the Scotland trip. Your instincts are on point.

I'm getting close to bailing on the show.  For one thing, without a DVR, it's hard to catch this show (I don't have a DVR when I'm in Connecticut, but I do in Wisconsin - hotels in general have no taping capacity).  I've looked all over the Bravo schedule and there are two broadcasts of these episodes - one for East coast and one for West.  With the number of times Housewives episodes are re-done, one would think this show would get at least one more viewing.

In any case, Stanbury can just go sit down and shut up.  She's an awful person, attacking with minimal evidence.

I don't have cable, but watch the show on Amazon Prime. You can also get it on ITunes. $2.99 on Amazon.

I don't think Caroline S. is intimidated by Julie's title but I do think it annoys her that she has one demonstrated her TH when she spit out the line about what makes women with titles think they can boss her around mainly because I imagine if Caroline S had a title she would lord (no pun intended) it over everyone.

I caught that remark too. So other titled women have bossed her around. Boarding school experience?

Fleming is making me laugh with her exuberance with regard to food.

Did not like the way Caroline S. told the make-up artist/"friend" to answer the door.

Yes, nothing gets between her and her eats! She can be endearing.

  13. Sophie may have taken the "Loose Lips" title from Julie last night. Never repeat hurtful shit to someone just to gain an ally against the person who originally said it. What possible good could come of Sophie's telling Adela Caroline's claim about raising Adela from the gutter?

Holy shit!  You got that right.

It is sort of a whitewash attempt with the whole unnecessary drugs thing.  Because he was a huge drug user and fried a part of his brain.  And they tried to medicate that problem and by everything that I heard he got addicted to some of the  meds that he didn't need and that he also then stopped taking the ones he did -- some kind of mood stabilizer and anti-anxiety pills.  He went off the deep end about the time that the first season filmed, lost whatever sinecure he still had in The City and was shipped off to Mapperton to be tucked in a corner.  His younger brother is apparently the one the parents now rely on and have for a while in terms of making business decisions for Mapperton.  Julie to my knowledge is not and has not ever been involved as the current Earl was and then when Luke could only maybe wrap things in the gift shack and shake hands and walk the tables during catered meals/events, they turned to the brother's contacts which include a firm that helps run large houses/properties as a consultant.

The blame was never put on Luke officially though I think there are plenty of credible sources out there if you google enough.  But his drug abuse and the permanent effects were known well before they trotted out the whole poor Luke is a victim aspect.  He ran with a rather nasty crowd, not the party type set that Phlegm likes to portray herself as being a part of, but the ones that dabbled in behavior that was more than just racy (heavy drugs, sex rings in N. Africa etc).

I would hardly call a £1.35 million settlement a whitewashing. You have portrayed Luke Montagu as a sort of imbecilic invalid, implying that this was due to illegal drugs use. Link please.

  15. I've got to say, I don't care for the swans.  It's pretty rude to invite guests over, only to have them attacked by your vicious swans.  God only knows what their staff have to put up with.  Now, I personally am not a social person, and wouldn't mind a swan chasing away uninvited visitors.  It would be a little more expedient than ignoring the door bell.  I also would never live in Lisa's house, because it would be difficult to ignore people ringing my doorbell, when they're looking at me through my two story glass doors.  And as cute as it was watching the swan come waddling into the house, the knowledge that they could easily kill my five tiny ankle biters, whilst simultaneously shooting liquid stool out of their behinds inside my home, is a complete turnoff.

Were we separated at birth? Thanks for my much needed laugh of the day.

A picture and info on Luke Montagu.  Note that Lord Sandwich is also on CEP's board.  Family members and I have been helped by carefully supervised antidepressants and stimulants, so I won't comment on CEP's mission. Whatever one thinks of Luke's looks, he seems to have made his own way, judging by the brief resume.  Both of his parents are impressive in their own rights.

  17. Wait! I've been calling Lizzie by the wrong name all year! I thought her name was Libby! I just realized that. Sheesh, I know Vicki's brother's name and I know Vicki's dog's name, but I screwed up with Lizzie?! I guess she doesn't interest me at all!

Interestingly, Julie is vegan and is raising her children to be vegan. I think what shocked and embarrassed her was the shameless gaucherie (Juliet esp) and lack of respect shown towards her in-laws. (Icannot wrap my head around leaving the table and holding up a course. I would have had to hzve words with Caroline about that later. BTW, didn't Lord and Lady Sandwich seem lovely? Talk about exquisite manners!

Sorry about the irrelevant quote in my post above. I don't know how it got there and can't figure out how to get rid of it!

    Never mind.

  18. Anyone with children who airs their marital problems on TV loses the right to complain that castmates (and the rest of the world) are gossiping about them. Furthermore, to come in to a show with your marital problems as your storyline makes you a fame ho who deserves no respect, IMO. Shannon should have thought about the fact that she was a mother before she signed on to the show. Absurd hypocrisy.

No one in this cast is too bright.  When are people going to catch on that Tamra is a coworker not a friend? Her M.O. is to befriend, create conflict and betray, and then reconcile. Her only priority is staying employed on the show. Vicki finally seems to have gotten it.
