That too, but at times I wanted to know what show Melissa was watching.  She completely ignored how Olaj was being abusive and instead glossed over their relationship in a positive way.  I was like REALLY?  She did it more than once.  Like Olaj is this wonderful husband and everything was happy-joy-joy and wonderful between them.  This is yet another reason I felt her presence was useless.  I thought this new Afterparty was supposed to be more real, not more fake.  Even the experts would have said something about Olaj's attitude.

She also something like Michael and Jasmina were a great example of " black love."  WTF? I hope she's wrong. Seems they are actually a poor example. They can barely tolerate being in the same room. But she would know more about black relationships than I.

Two weeks?  I feel I've been following these goofy people in real time.

Am I the only one who thinks Noi had nothing to do with putting that treasure hunt together?

A scavenger hunt for a grown-ass man? That's not cute. It's a f*cking waste of time. Nevermind. Steve's not gainfully employed so he has hours to waste on such nonsense.

However, I find Katina to be equally problematic. She is rude af. She started that fight. Every time Lindsey said something, she rolled her eyes. Everyone is not going to like you, that is to be expected. However, she has had it out for Lindsey since that incident on the plane. The fact that she is besties with Alyssa has me side eying her ass.

I think Katina's bad behavior will escalate now that she's learned her husband prefers white women. Maybe Olijahan would prefer to be with Lindsay, a blonde, and that pisses Katina off, hence why she picks so many fights. Olijahan gives Lindsey a lot of attention which makes me think deep down he has the hots for her. It's the middle school game of pretending not to like the person you secretly like.

I hate to point out something so shallow but Alyssa's mother seems nice but homely.

I wonder if she spoiled Alyssa because Alyssa was probably a fairly cute kid? This might have led to her overvaluing Alyssa, as explained by the Washington Post article and resulting in Alyssa seeing herself as a superior individual.

Can we please stop blaming mothers for their children's flaws. Alyssa a bitch and that's all on her. Not her mother's fault or how she raised her. Sadly, her mother's kindness did not rub off on her.

So we hear from Mark that he and Lindsey did NOT have sex multiple times the day of the romantic dinner/argument. I had a feeling that Lindsey exaggerated that little bit of news.

Katina says it WAS a mutual decision to not get physical. I'm not totally sure I believe her, but we'll see what happens in the future.

I'm really glad Keshia showed the catamaran clip to Michael and got him to admit that Jasmina did not cut him off, and also admit that he should've told Jasmina about the roommates. However, I do agree with Michael that Jasmina is going too far with calling him aggressive. Is this supposedly like Chris being aggressive to Alyssa? We've never seen Michael be anywhere near what I'd call aggressive. And we know they do have hidden cameras in the apartments, so I feel like they would show it

Jasmina is a scold. She is quick to reprimand Michael over the slightest infraction. When she has her hair in a bun, she reminds me of the spinster school teachers or of a old Catholic school nun ready to crack his knuckles with a ruler.

I don't think the price of this home represents the true value of real estate in Boston. The ad says the house is deed restricted and the price cannot exceed the amount allowed by the city. Also, the city must approve any buyer.

The producers can't stand Alyssa either. The way they edit her scenes is hilarious. How many times did she say "I'm a nice person." last night? I agree with Lindsay when she said if you have to keep saying you're a nice person you're probably not. How many times does Alyssa say "like"? Every other word. Chris is wearing out his welcome too. How can he keep putting up with her and her antics? It's demeaning. Show a little self-respect, Chris. Leave now with your head held up high. Don't stay there and be Alyssa's whipping boy. It's a really bad look. Call it a day and walk. Then Alyssa won't get to stay in the apartment on her own and hang out with the girls. Beat her at her own game.

It's all about the contract. He needs to stay in to perform the contract. He's staying cool and collected so as not to give Allysa ammunition to say he forced her out. I admire his level of self-contol. She's angry because she can't break him. She's immature and reactive. Chris keeps his poker face and plays the long game.

MAFSFAN  posted a snippet of their contracts during the D.C. season and at the beginning of this season. Taylor also confirmed it in her live when the D.C. season ended. She wanted out completely after the honeymoon, but was stuck because she couldn't afford the $50,000.

Chris has amazing self-control. He's staying right on script and not giving Allysa any grounds to say he breached the contract first. She wants people to believe he’s angry and abusive to get out of the contract. But he’s the opposite. And that's what really makes her angry.

And that was after she talked to the doctor. Usually we get those hauls before the first appointment.

It was also after Randy purged the house of the "bad stuff." When she said that,  I assumed Randy the out the bad foods. But I think she actually meant she ate it all.

Katina thinks she's the shit but she's naive if she breaks down in tears over Olajawon's smarmy sales pitch.  I thought she was supposed to be street smart but she bit into his schmoozey line of crap hook line and sinker.  She only knows this guy 3 days and already she knows he's had a checkered past and yet she's STILL buying everything he's selling.  He would have sent my red lights blinking like no tomorrow!

Poor Katina can't see all the red flag because her skull is crushed under the weight of the extensions. And she's high on nail and eyelash glue.

Wow, the producers really hate Alyssa, don't they! She must have pissed them off royally to get such a bad edit.  That, or there isn't anything other than footage of her bitching and moaning (which is highly likely).

Of course production is pissed. She voluntarily entered into a contract to get married and give them 8 weeks of content for the TV show. But she won't even sit with Chris and try to have a normal adult conversation. She's in breach of contact. Chris seems like one of the less creepy guys on the show. There have been far worse. One of her big gripes is he'stoo ambitiousand works too hard. How horrible ( lol). I hope Chris has told his lawyer to prepare annulment or divorce papers to file when they return to Boston.

The point of his story was ... he was taking revenge on the family because his brother(?) had been involved with another member (male) of the family, so he decided to get back at him by sleeping with the guy's mom.  Then a month later, he hooked up with the daughter.   After that, the mom called Olajuwon and asked if he could pick her up at the train station and give her a ride home. When he got there, the daughter was with her.  So he tried to make conversation to keep them from spilling the beans about having been with him. When he dropped them off, they both patted him on the shoulder and told him he had passed their "sex education" class.  I think he was saying that he got as played by them as he intended to play them.  🤪

However, that story would bother me if I was newly married to him.  But that's just me.

Thank you. I missed all that detail. It's hard to understand Olijawan. He mumbles. Like a used car salesman, I assume everything he says is either an exaggeration or outright lie.  I don't understand why he publicly  told that disgusting story to his bride of three days. Even stranger, Katina didn't flinch, like it was a normal story. The two seem a perfect match in the sleeze category.

There is no whoever. If someone is talking about a threesome it's Olajuwon.

Did Olajawon really say he banged a mother and her daughter at a train station? Please tell me I  heard wrong. That's just gross and if Katina had an ounce of self respect she would run.

Jamie O posted in her Insta stories her fertility chart, pointing out her fertile days and tagging Doug. WTF. Why does the whole world need to know your babymaking schedule?

Give her some credit. At least she didn't show us hearts ❤❤❤ on the intercourse days. That would be too much, even for Jamie.

Maybe there simply aren't enough appropriate participants to allow us to harken back to the Golden Years of the show.

I was thinking about all the original people involved in and succeeding with weight loss on the show.  I recalled Christina, Henry, Melissa, the lady who lived in a family basement in Chicago (her name escapes me at the momet) and James (whose wife divorced him when he refused to follow the program but later succeeded), to name a few.

As someone else pointed out in an earlier thread, the show came from an genre of being a "documentary" type program.  The assumption was that the people filmed were people WHO SUCCEEDED with weight loss.

Over the years, the emphasis of the show seems to have devolved  into more of a "reality show free for all" where very, very few of the participants (if any) succeed.

I think that trend began with the Assanti brothers.  The episodes attracted a HUGE audience because of the antics and grotesque situations delivered by the brothers.  Things went downhill from there.

The only show I archived as weight-loss successes during the last few years were Justin, Cilla, and Benji.

I recently rewatched Brittini's show. Season 4, I think. She was very successful and had a great attitude. She suffered from severe depression but worked hard to address that and weight loss. She was an inspiration, a beautiful soul. And no family drama. She had a good marriage to a kind, supportive man. Are there no more inspiring stories? Are we left with train wreaks?

    Thank you for clarifying.

I do agree with you about being uncomfortable diagnosing strangers on TV. I have a son with a serious mental illness. People suffer from stigma. People use terms like schizophrenia with no clear idea what it really means.

I don’t feel comfortable diagnosing Dolly, but I too come from the disability space (my sister has a severe intellectual disability- she has the cognitive abilities of a toddler)- and Dolly reminded me a LOT of some of the other siblings I’ve come across in my advocacy work for siblings of people with disabilities.
My sister is a physical and financial challenge- but her mental disability is such she cannot make ANY choices; she’s not self aware, she can’t talk back, she can’t make decisions. She’s perfectly happy giggling and watching YouTube/Disney+ all day with her caregiver.

Dolly, and people I have met with intellectual disabilities that exhibit similar behaviors are less physically needy (they can bathe themselves and use the toilet like a typical adult for example), they have strong language skills, but emotionally and intellectually the family is at their wits end. They have all of these impulses in an adult body, with the desire to be an adult in society, an understanding of SOME social rules but without the mental and emotional maturity to make any GOOD decisions. Peers of mine with brothers in this situation fear prison, those with sisters fear pregnancy and sexual exploitation.

I am not sure Dolly’s “fiancé” was not in a similar position. I certainly think Dolly should’ve treated her Mom better, she certainly knew better, but based on what we have seen she may not be capable of “adulting” in the typical manner.

Again this is all speculation- and I cannot diagnose anyone from a reality show, I’m just speaking from my own life experiences having been a caregiver and spending lots of time around individuals with differing disabilities.

You don't need to diagnosis her. She said herself she was diagnosed with intellectual disabilities, ADHD, oppositional defiance and bipolar disorder. I may have missed a diagnosis or two. Judging by the show,, there seems to be a reasonable basis for each of those diagnosis.

I doubt Dolly will ever follow anyone's rules.  She's been thrown out of Job Corps, her mother, and who knows how many other situations.     She does what she wants, and always finds someone to enable her.

Can you imagine how bad you have to smell to get fired from a Job Corps job because your hygiene is so bad?  Must be Rhode Island Steven level of stink.
