  1. Yes, it is. This was discussed quite a bit already in the Megyn Kelly run-up thread, but now that we've locked that, this is a good place to continue discussing it.

Reposting this note here since we've now closed the Speculation thread for the Megyn Kelly special:

Survivors react to abuse in many different ways. Defending their abusers is certainly one of them. It may be shocking, it may make you angry, but it happens - remember survivors feel many different things and it can be hard to process all of those feelings. Their environment probably does not help matters.

It's hard to draw a bright line rule on this, but we're going to err on the side of hiding stuff that we feel is attacking the survivors, or editing out things we feel go too far. Meanwhile, everyone take a DEEP BREATH, and remember that Jessa (and Jill, and others) suffered abuse.

Ok. Thank you. It's so hard to keep up with all the thread now, especially Josh/Anna, JB/ Michelle, and the Media threads.

I just seen that article post on FB a few hours ago.

  2. National Park is a community college in Hot Springs, AR. It appears he took the first year in residence and did most or all of the second year online/distance learning.

Thanks for the info. Makes sense how he had so much "free time" and was able to do schoolwork on his honeymoon. I guess we'll see what he says about future plans in an upcoming episode. But I do congratulate him. Job well done.

  3. I live in Philly, and I would love to see what people are going to do to annoy these Duggars. Haha! They need to go on a tour of South Street and the gayborhood. That would be beautiful. Get on it, TLC...

I'm in Philly too and would love to see the happenings.

  4. I'm disappointed that TLC showed the lovelocks. It's been a well publicized problem over the past year or two. Ben and Jessa didn't know any better but I'm sure the producers knew about the debate surrounding it. I cringed when Leslie and Ben did it on Parks and Rec also and was annoyed at NBC then. Parisian authorities should be fining those who take part in it. It is a major problem that has affected the cityscape. They've had to replace beautiful ironwork with plexiglass in some areas.

One more observation from the episode: I was surprised that Jessa and Ben's wedding photos were available so quickly after the wedding for the Duggars to frame in time for the renovation reveal. I wonder if TLC rush ordered it.

I noticed the wedding photos being done quickly too. Anyone know the time frame from the wedding to the return to the renovated house?

  5. I'll give them a pass on the love lock thing since everyone does it. I knew about the bridge and wanted to do it whenever I travel to Paris with my boyfriend. But I had no idea it was so frowned upon and borderline illegal. I thought it was a nice tradition from the city of romance.

Besides I thought the engraved lock was cute and a nice surprise. Ben is a romantic.

  6. I thought it was interesting that they were living in the hotel after the wedding. Immediately after the wedding they honeymooned for a few days in the mountains someplace -- I want to say TN or NC or someplace similar. Then it looks like they came back to Arkansas for a few days and stayed in a hotel and then went to Europe. Surprised JB didn't expect them to just stay in Ben's warehouse room or put them up at Derick and Jill's house while their house was being worked on. Though I have a feeling Jessa is less "compliant" than Jill would be and may have just said -- sorry pops, we're married and need to be comfortable if we're going to get on with baby making, we need a hotel for a week.

I thought the exact same thing. Why didn't they just stay in Ben's warehouse bachelor's pad? I wouldn't dish out any more money than necessary.
