  1. ALL are welcome to our party!! :D I'll be by the bar, pretending Our Beloved Show makes sense. ;) Someone in one of these here threads mentioned it reaching Passions' levels of crazy. I was willing to withhold that label until today's news. valleycliffe already mentioned it: Kyle's status as a minister.

When he dropped that stinker, my jaw dropped and I made a face. It can't be that easy to get ordained. It CAN'T be.

*goes to Google, prepares to weep for humanity*

Katherine became an ordained minister online too a few years back so she could officiate the marriage of Amber and Daniel. That being said, I'm shocked Gnomie knows how to Google anything let alone use a computer.

  2. In order to  save EB from being indirectly responsible for murder CP decides show needs to pin the crimes on another culprit, aka Harding.

    Wait, what??

Grampire uses his vast resources to hunt down a doppelganger of his nemesis; he then facilitates the escape of this felonious madman and perpetrates  a huge fraud by having him impersonate his nemesis so he can take over his company and allows his thrall all the other spoils of his enemy to include his home, his fortune and his wife.

The psychotic impersonator then enthralls an underpaid cop to help facilitate the fraud. An unfortunate series of events leads to 3 murders perpetrated by the under-thrall while he's supporting the agenda of his Masters. The Evil Dark Lord Victor is still connected by the dots.

Victor was convinced Marco was running around committing these murders - he said something to him about it more than once. Did he ever go to the police? Did he try to warn his surviving family members in the Scooby Gang? Did he hint to Phyllis or anyone else in his thrall's orbit that Phack could be dangerous? Did he attempt to help the framed Sharon in any way? No, no, no and no. He just sat back and let the cards fall where they may. He didn't even hire security back then when his granddaughter's husband was murdered or when his grandson's bride was murdered! Oh, but he has now that the real Jaggabit is back in town (you know because he doesn't really give a rat's ass; it's all for the dog and pony show).

I don't see how Harding's involvement by acting as Trigger Man makes Victor any less culpable and I'm not certain a jury would disagree. At the very least he's still guilty of major financial crimes and blackmail that would put him away for a very long time.

This was some very sloppy writing for an easy exit to a convoluted s/l. If you can't wrap up multi-fingered plots in better packaging stick with simpler fare.

  3. I respect your choice, LeftPhalange. If someone told me to leave Nick Newman alone, I'd tell them to go piss up a rope. Plus I may have taken a gentle poke at Paul in the other thread, so who am I to talk?

NP - my father used to say this all the time! I've never heard anyone else use the phrase, so I was just tickled to see it here. He's been gone for too many years, so I thank you for that little penny from heaven.

Paul is an asshole, Petunia, but I bet you didn't know that the illustrious police chief no longer has an asshole. True story. His bum has fused with his blue jeans to form a sort of human-textile centipede.

So Jack has been slapped around, smashed in the face with a baseball bat, and had his skull pistol-whipped by an angry boat captain. What's next? Will an anvil fall out of the sky and land on his head? By the way, science proves that such a series of serious head injuries would make Jack only 39.2% as dumb as Nick Newman.

As I wind this post down, I am hit with a realization. That fuck to give about Sage I ordered from the Y&R gift shop still hasn't arrived. I can't imagine they're out of stock.

The laughs keep coming! Comedy gold right here folks. I certainly needed it after a long and stressful day at work. Thanks for helping me to find my smile I lost long before lunch! :)

  4. I may be a bit old-fashioned but I don't really understand why they show people drinking in the middle of the day, a work day no less, on this show. I mean, 25-35 years ago, I think it was kind of a societal norm with high powered lunches so to speak, but now? Really? Are there really that many people who do this IRL? How many people have their own bar in their home?

About 12 years ago I did work for a company where meetings and lunches were just like that and every day between 3-4pm Happy Hour started in the office. It was the only place I've ever worked with that type of culture, every other place I've worked would fire someone for such behavior.

IMHO the number of occasions with people imbibing on this show are high, ymmv. As much as Victor drinks (until very recently) I'm surprised he isn't an alcoholic too. He used to drink daily, at work and at home, in social situations and at home and in front of his alcoholic spouse. How is that not defined as problematic?? I guess that was the REALLY LONG ROUNDABOUT way of saying that find most drunk people IRL annoying too, but MTS really does sell it well. hehehe sorry, got carried away.

  5. Thanks Margamo!  Wow he's almost unrecognizable now.  Getting old sure sucks.

That is does trust me! DD then and now isn't as drastic and depressing as comparing David Lee Roth from the 80's to now, or myself for that matter! :)  My new non generic avatar is in appreciation for the Sick Hashtags - I call it #notevenacrumb (though what she is getting...a pic is worth a thousand words).

I had the same problem - just put that little box up in the top left corner.  We need to get boes to give us lessons - he obviously has no problem posting pictures.   lol

Movinon - thank you so much! I figured out what I was doing wrong! :) Last pic - I just found it and it's better than the last two.

  6. Saying hello, friends!  Sorry it's not a recap.  Kid graduated high school this week (magna cum laude :o)  if I may brag on Kid for a moment) plus other family whatnot.  Oh, and it's beautiful weather and I go outside sometimes now.  lol  I'll be back when I catch a breath!

Congrats "Peach Kid" and Peach too of course!! You must be so proud!! How fantastic for your family. Enjoy. :)

  7. We pulled the plug on satellite about a year ago and I found that after giving up my favorites (Blacklist, Once Upon a Time) I didn't really miss them all that much. Mostly we watched news or child oriented programs which can both be found elsewhere for a lot less money. I began watching Y&R online and really kept watching it out of habit mostly. With sports and school activities there isn't much time to dedicate to shows and I've honestly not missed television one bit. If I get an urge to watch something there's the show and if I'm particularly disenchanted there's Netflix.

I thought Broadchurch, The Fall, The Paradise and The Tudors were all very good. I've contemplated watching Lost over again since it's on there now too but I find my level of commitment wanes when the series is lengthy.

  8. I realize that Soaps take creative license with just about everything, including "time." Sage and Gabe hooked up a week and a half ago (as of yesterday's show) and it's setting up yet another WTD s/l. Is that even remotely possible that a week and a half later, assuming that Gabe is the winner of this week's baby lotto, that she would already know she's pregnant?? Possible, but not probable. They count from the last day of your last cycle....which ok, may not be completely accurate, but c'mon a week and a half later?? Most women just aren't that in tune with their bodies - changes at this point, for most, aren't that noticeable. Based on the timeline even the docs would count her as being further along. As much as I can't stand Capt. Caveman I hope he's the winner of the baby lotto and that Sage is in for the long con and takes him to the cleaners.

  9. This might be how Show plans on dragging out the nonsense. If Fack doesn't remember stuff upon waking, he will have a "medical injury" to explain it instead of leaving his family scratching their heads.

Maybe it'll be temporary and when his "memory" comes back he'll think he's the real Jack and have his memories cuz he went through the Svengali School for Doppleminions (aka TGVN boot camp); except he'll now come out fighting....Or not.

  10. I can't remember anything about orchids and Japan, either - think they just made that up.  But then, maybe I was playing with the Grey Goose when it happened, and I FF a lot.  Maybe it was something from when they were married before - I don't think they've been to Japan in the last 5 or 6 years, for sure.  HOWEVER........

I think this was from when they were married before.....there was a search for some rare exotic orchid in Japan; Neil and Dru married there for that reason. Lily made Dru's bouquet and in it there was , gasp, the orchid! Anyway, Phyllis caught the bouquet (she was working for Jack's competition), another was found. Long story short Diane ended up with both she gave Phyllis 1 and told her to give it to Jack and work on their marriage. Peace offering??

  11. Ok, here's my UO......I kind of liked Dummer for a few seconds at Austin's funeral when she yelled at Abby. Whew! I feel better after unburdening myself!! This was difficult to admit as I have hated this character for eons. Personally, I thought she was a 1 dimensional emoter  (whiner); but apparently she can emote anger for a few seconds without whining....maybe she is taking acting lessons?

Did I just up the ante saying something nice about Summer?

Victor finally wised up and got rid of the liquor in the house! See there.....he's capable of learning and change. :)

That's it....that's all the niceness I have for the show at the moment; I'll be holding a deficit for the unforeseeable future.

  12. Yes, after Pricktor told Jack they should essentially call a truce (right?!), Pricktor went to the chapel confessional (must be a Catholic hospital) to talk to his co-conspirator.

So Victor went to church and it wasn't for an exorcism, eh? I suppose that would be some Vatican level demon purging anyways.

I'm surprised he could even enter the Chapel, what with all the crosses.

Do hospital chapels normally have confessionals? Even Catholic hospitals (which I have never thought GC Memorial was)?

I've never seen a Catholic Hospital with a Confessional. I think a lot of shows utilize Catholic elements for props because they lend so much to the imagery without the need for explanation. I'm not certain but does any other denomination light candles? They've done that several times in the chapel too. I'm sure the Demon Victor is immune to crosses and he can obviously cross the threshold without pain, but I bet the font of holy water boils in his presence! Vatican level exorcism indeed! I'm thinking that would even be a tall order for Pope Francis to drive all the evil out of Victor!

(j/k, not trying to be sacrilegious)

  13. Thank you all for the warm welcome! I also like GT as nuPhyllis. I always wondered how a pairing with Phyllis and Adam would go as they were both so evil, power hungry and self-centered. Those two together would really be a pair to be reckoned with! Not sure how the characters are going to develop from here on out, so not sure how I would feel about that now. I did like MM & SC together for a bit even with the history; I thought Sharon was stronger in that pairing, which I liked. But, when Adam was so hateful to her during their last turn and jilted her in such a mean-spirited way....I would rather she move on to someone else. Time will tell....I will probably forgive him for that too, since I've long forgiven his worst!

  14. New here and have only just begun posting, but I love this board! The posts are witty, gritty and fun. I have to say I loved MM's Adam; he could snark like nobody's business. He was believable as an evil villain, a conflicted soul and a tormented cast off daddy seeker.  It is completely understandable why people hated his character. Meanwhile I loved him. I was saddened when he left because he was a big part of my enjoyment of this show. When they decided to recast it had me worried, especially because I can't get past the nuBilly Brothers; it was all for naught as JH is one of the best recasts IMO. I'm really looking forward to what he does with the character assuming the writings don't mess it up.
