  1. Did anyone watch the old episodes from the original first season that came on right after the new show last night? It looked like they did some sort of special effect to the video to make it look like an old home movie.  It was kind if wobbly.  Did anyone notice?  I don't think the original episodes looked like that.  It was kind of odd.

I think that comes from commenting as the show is airing rather than reflecting on the whole episode.

Agree.  I remember the episode where the guy died.  It was all snark until the end and then everyone felt awful.

I was a little surprised at the negative commentary in the live chat thread. Perhaps my standards are very low at this point, but I found her to be more interesting and articulate than most of the people on this show. She had these things going for her:

Though she was repetitious about the apartment and her anxiety about going back to California, she only said the dreaded word "scared" twice.

I thought she showed some insight when she was disgusted with herself for keeping the apartment in CA while only having a six-month lease on the apartment in Houston. She realized that she had made poor decisions out of fear and was determined not to make that mistake again.

She actually did clean out that cluttered apartment. She had some nice furniture and turned that apartment into an appealing place to live. I think that makes a big difference in a person's mindset and attitude. It must be depressing as hell to live in a dirty, cluttered place surrounded my reminders of the life you want to leave behind.

Her boyfriend was supportive and not a jerk.

She went to the gym. I lol'ed when she was finished with the ropes and threw them to the side the second she was done with them. I feel the same way about ropes!

She tried to get out more and do things that were not revolving around food.

She had an excellent therapist, a very good fit for her. The therapist was practical and had a no bullshit attitude, which was exactly what Eric needed.

She wasn't an asshole to Dr. Now, and was honest with him.

There was a lot more going on in this episode than most, but without all the negative drama. I wish her well and hope she is successful at meeting her goals and staying happy.

I was also really surprised and disappointed at all the negativity in the Live Chat.  I guess people really love to snark on there and they tend to be super negative and make fun nomatter what. I was really rooting for her and I thought her attitude was great.  Jimmy was such a good guy!  And decent looking too. Surprisingly normal. He seemed to really love her and care about her. I hope it all works out for them!

  4. Did anyone watch "This is Life - Live" after this show last night?  There does not seem to be a discussion for this show.   There was an adoption story on it - 37 year old woman searching for her birth mother and they reunited live on the show.  Birth mother said she was 20 when she had her, which would have made her 57 or 58 now but she looked to be in her late 70s!  There was some discussion about this on the Facebook page.  Someone said she must have had a hard life.  I cannot believe this woman was in her 50s.   Very odd.

Josh storming out of Dr. Now's office, complete with high pitched hysterics and door slamming, then telling us that he didn't need no doctor looking in his telescope for him to know Bettie Jo had cancer, has completely finished me. That is all.

I think he must have meant stethoscope, not microscope, which of course you listen into not look into, but whatever.

IT'S OVER????  WTH!!!  Is coming back?

No.  This was actually a 4 part documentary created for British television a couple of years ago.

I think ( and I could be wrong) that they can divorce for this lifetime, but if they are “ sealed” they join that husband in eternity, unless he “ releases” a wife? They can remarry, but only for “time”.

Robert Foster, the founder of this community, was divorced from his first wife.

Christian apparently  grew up with his mother outside of the community.  Was she the first wife?  Was she Enoch's mother as well?  There was a photo portrait of the father with just the two sons, so I assume they were full brothers.  Perhaps Christian was still a minor so she left with him.  Interested to learn the full story.

I'm so confused.  I watched the first episode- Welcome to the Rock and the second episode- Baby Makes 12.  I didn't see that stuff on either of them.

    I guess I could've missed it.......

I didn't see this either.  I have a feeling this is an episode that did not air yet that the poster saw online.

I’m watching this show for the first time tonight. And I don’t think they like each other very much!

No they don't like each other at all!  Maybe we need to change the topic name!  Wife #1 is the only one that seems happy.  The others are miserable and hate each other!  Wife #3 hates the whole situation and hates her life!

I think I missed this, unless this was a promo for the season or next week?  I remember seeing two women and conversations about potential impact to current family.

They are in next week's episode, and there is a fourth family that ia not introduced yet either.  I believe they were Abel's brother's wives and now he is expected to marry them!

  11. I thought this show was really well-done and interesting - not your typical fame-whore reality-TV trash.  This was originally done as a documentary for British TV and has a very realistic, slice of life feel to it.  You can tell they really believe they have a higher calling.  I liked and sympathized with them.  The women are all beautiful!  Fascinating.

Is there a forum for the new show, Three Wives, One Husband?

If there is, I can't find it.

I submitted a request for this!  I would really like to discuss this show.  It is actually only a 4 part series, and was originally a documentary that aired on British TV last year.  I actually thought is was very good and realistic- not typical "reality TV" trash.  Creepy, but realistic.

I thought a few years ago, there was a younger guy who also died.

Yes - I don't remember his name, but I believe he died later, after the episode filmed and aired.

  14. This was so sad.  I was reading the Live Chat last night, but didn't participate.  Someone pointed out that the voiceover was the fiance and that it probably meant he had died.  Everyone was saying nobody had died on the show before and I had distinctly remembered an episode featuring a Haitian woman that died, so I Googled and it turned out it was a different but similar TLC show called 600 Pound Mom

I swear I am normal but I melt American cheese into rice. I do not understand the repulsion at this. It's not spaghetti and ketchup.  It's just 2 basic ingredients that taste good together. I don't know why putting shredded cheddar in the rice is somehow superior to American cheese slices. It's still shitty cheese. Bags of shredded cheddar that you buy at the supermarket is shitty processed cheese too.

I used to make this for my kids when they were little.  I called it "Cheesy Rice!"  American cheese microwaved with leftover rice!  They loved it!

.Also I may have missed it, but did LB have to go through the shower of shame?  I guess the show felt showing his stump was shame enough.

Yes, there was a shower scene.  I liked this episode a lot and was rooting for him.  He was doing great by the end!
