  1. So two things. First, Sarah, I recommend the Bosch books. They are quite good and there's the added bonus of when Bosch listens to jazz you don't actually have to hear the music. Secondly, Dave is really good at reading the food ads.

  2. Patrick Melrose must be really, really bad to have such a short segment.

I think it was in one of the listener game times where the people on talked about how you can suffer massive brain freeze during Game Time and how hard it really is or maybe it was just multiple Valued Guests who said something similar. Sarah's missing of the who's your daddy question is an excellent example and finally made me believe them.

  3. I can't stop thinking about this. Watching L&O reruns last night I kept hearing the credits smash in after every bit reveal and cracking up.

And this: As God as my witness...I thought turkeys could fly.

  4. The link to the Bowling for access to abortion fund is not working - I get a page not found and bounced back to the ptv homepage.

Hearing that ad/psa in the same episode as a mention of needing a husband's permission for birth control in The Handmaid's Tale was well timed.

  5. I think that's my favorite mini topic ever.

I don't know if there's any dialogue around it, it might just be a visual, but all I kept think of was after the helicopter fell on Romano.

  6. Yes, re Farmer Boys. The big boys kill the old teacher and the new teacher, who was a friend of the man killed, brings a whip to school and uses it. The new teacher was staying with the Wilders and Almanzo's dad gave him a heads up about the boys as well. Almanzo spends a bit of time worrying that his teacher is going to be killed.

  7. I thought it was just terrible. Halfway through my husband turned to me and said "are you finding this funny" and I had to assure him that the other new episodes were better than this.

While I agree it looked like the cast was having fun, especially Megan Mullaly, it could not save this for me.

I really was hoping for a Debbie Reynolds tribute episode too.

Edited to add: between this and the dancing to Madonna scene earlier in the run I think they are setting the stage for Will and Jack to end up together and this was just to further that plot point along.  They needed a dream sequence / fantasy scenario to put it out there to the audiences without consequences in the main story line.

    What is that photo?

That's the Horta (AKA "puke pile") from the original "Star Trek" series. Dave married it.

It may look like a pile of puke but it's a very good parent. So of the three it's probably the best as she would take primary responsibility for the kids, killing all those who get in her way.

    Clip Show?

I hadn't seen any mention that the holiday episode was going to be a compilation.  Of what?  The old series?  That would be a huge waste of a post-Voice timeslot.  I can imagine a momentary clip of Bobbi Adler, but a whole episode.  No No No.

I was sorta expecting that the holiday episode would be Will-centric, with the fabulous Blythe Danner (and maybe some allusions to ex- Vince).

My clip show comment was to the podcast on the episode where they discuss the possibility of a clip show.

  10. I'm watching the episode now. Word for Michael and Margarita: you don't have to be ashamed for bringing this up. Claire cheated. She is under the same rules as everyone else and I'm sure she had the same opportunity to read them and acknowledge that she read them. This isn't a group of school friends with their "code of honor" about not tattling, this is an adult competition with valuable prizes at stake. There is no disloyalty involved. Claire broke the "code of honor" and the one who was disloyal, not Michael and Margarita. She had the arrogance to think she was above the rules and they didn't apply to her..

Probably many other posts with the same thoughts, but I wanted to say this first before I started reading posts.

This to me was the most annoying thing about the episode - the regret expressed by Margarita and Michael.
It was more annoying than Brandon's straps. Own it; take responsibility for your actions. Claire broke the rules.

With Amy's comments about the producers ignoring the rules (producers being Heidi and Harvey Weinstein's company) it makes sense that when 25k was on the line they would finally step up.

  11. Good job all. Love it when my two favorite websites come together in one podcast.

Was this Game Time planned for when Dave might not be present ? Because there were a lot of names to pronounce in this one.

  12. The best part of this episode were Zac and Nina and their critiques and the push back they gave on Heidi's opinions. More than once this season Nina has used the line about "fashion not clothes" and she did last night too. Claire sews clothes, Kintaro is a designer. I was not surprised though that Claire won over Kintaro because Heidi is the executive producer and not the other two and Heidi wants the DRAMA.

With Heidi being the Executive Producer I don't believe she wasn't informed prior to filming and knew what questions to ask Margarita. They also did the judging differently - the three bottom and then the three tops instead of alternating them. Had to be part of the set up for the drama.

Nina also did a good job of critiquing Michael's pants without insulting the client. Those pants were horrible. Maybe if you're attending a football game in Chicago in the winter and don't want to carry in your blanket?

Brandon and his strings/ribbons/tabs. How do you sit in those clothes without sitting on the strings? Get out of a car? or slide out of a booth at a restaurant?

"What's with the Laura Bush pour? I want the full Pat Nixon!"

That was classic old school Karen. Very funny.

The one joke they didn't make that I expected --  showing Karen stumping on the campaign trail for Trump:

Please tell me that was Alec Baldwin. Please.
