Ha! We have Polar Bear Plunges in Minnesota! This one in Jasper is wimpy. It's not a Polar Bear Plunge unless you have to jump in a hole sawn through the ice.

I could brave the cold, but not the ice hole.  With my luck, I'd hit my head on the side of the ice jumping in and go unconscious.  More power to you if you've done that!

I found the episode very difficult to follow. Why would Padre keep Madison prisoner for 7 years?

I don't see any incentive.  If she's a nuisance, they would either kill her or take her far away and release her.  What motive is there to keep her in a cell?

These time jumps also make no sense.  Over 7 seasons, they face all types of enemies, cults, nuclear meltdowns, crashing planes, overrun settlements, and on and on, all posing a risk to their lives.  Then, the same  characters in the same world seem to get through a 7 year time jump without incident.

  3. So I guess chivalry is dead.  "Yes Rosita, you and our baby climb up the pipe last while we watch from the Window."  WTF?

Also, why is it that every person who becomes a parent for Judy decides to take off on some quest.  There's no internet, no phones, and no towns with record keeping.  The odds of Michonne finding Rick are about as close to zero as you can get.

Then, Daryl takes off to find "people" over taking care of Judith.  She is just a kid, right?  Plus, Alex and the Commonwealth need farmers, guards, and leaders to provide for Judith and the kids, right?  She and her brother are going to have some serious separation and abandonment issues.  If I'm her, I would assume that whoever starts to fill the parent roll is probably about to leave, kind of the opposite of the "love montage" at the end of the show. "Love you kid.  Well, I'm outta here."

And clearly Michonne didn't give a shit about her either. Why should I?

This was the worst writing of the series.  No mother or father would abandon their kids to go after the possibility of finding their lost partner.  Just terrible, terrible writing.

  5. This show.

I only saw the end.  Somehow, the troops of the Commonwealth were not able to keep zombies outside of a huge gate, but were able to perfectly herd those same zombies into a 2X2 neighborhood grid, with equal zombie distribution on each of the four entry streets (and perfectly timed), with nothing but barbed wire and temporary walls.  Another case of the writers lazily setting up a scene to get the predicament they want and trap our heroes.  No sense of setting up a scene with growing tension, and staying true to the rules you had set up for that situation all the way through.

Heard it. Turner had told Michael that he didn’t want to vote him out for that reason when he proposed he/Michael/Monte guys alliance. I think Michael was throwing that back in his face tonight.

I guess that's fair then if Turner brought it up first.

Still glad he's gone though.  If he was that uncomfortable with things that were said about race, he should have brought it up right away instead of using it for game play.

Right after this moment, I think Homer gets wacked in the head.

Who knew Gabby would have more tears than Rachel. Expecting this short season to end in serious relationships is delusional. With all the canceled dates and cocktail parties there was no chance to get to know each other.

Yes, this.  I want one of these guys to say "WTF did you expect when you kept cancelling every chance to get to know you."

Like Clare before her, Gabby seems to see the experience like catalog shopping.  The men are all supposed to be there for her, be ready to get engaged and not question the choices she makes on her "journey".  It's like their feelings or "journey" isn't supposed to count.

Really well said!.  This attitude has permeated both the male and female leads on this show.

I have lots of thoughts about this episode, and none of them are good. I really hate that apparently I am forced to follow the live feeds or at least the live feed thread to really know what’s going on in the house. What Kyle proposed was despicable: having an all-white alliance in order to kick out people of color. I didn’t like it when the Cookout did it, but at least I understood their reasoning and understood why it was important it was for them.

Also despicable, although less so: Michael and Britany sitting on this information until it benefited them personally to reveal it. Wow. I hope that’s not lost on others in the house, and I don’t think it will be. Michael may have just cost himself the whole game. I wouldn’t be too surprised to see him go up next and for entirely different reasons than being a competition threat.

Also despicable, but barely so compared to the rest of the drama: Joseph throwing his closest ally, Taylor, under the bus on his way out the door. Good riddance, Joseph.

    All extremely well said!

Unfortunately, while they've shown some of it on the show, most of it has been unaired and is from the feeds. I dropped a Twitter compilation of Kyle moments

Ok, ya, that's not someone I would want to hang out with at all.  I hope they all go home - Kyle for his comments and Michael and Britany for only addressing it when strategically advantageous.

    Thanks for sharing the clips.

I just want to say that we are all only seeing what the editors want us to see, however, everything was shown on the feeds.

Can you share what Kyle said that was racist?  I didn't see anything on the show other than he wanted to be wary of last year's pattern keeping him out of the game.  I didn't see last year at all or much of this year.

Yes, but not as disgusting as the actual racism.

So I came to this season late in the game, so can someone tell me what Kyle said/did that was racist?  I'm not challenging you guys.  I sincerely want to know.

Fair point 🤣 I forgot about Walkerian Economics - there will be plenty of fuel, canned goods (including baby formula!) will still be good 6-7 years later, and items like gas masks are laying around everywhere.

Wait, do we have to add oxygen tanks to the list of things in infinite supply?

Were there still people at  Hilltop?  Or was Maggie and her ragtag gang all that was left?

I couldn't tell if Maggie took a core group from Hilltop and left the rest behind, or if her core group was all that was left, or if a larger group all left Hilltop.  These writers are not very skilled at moving the chess pieces around for the view.

I also don't understand the incentive to conquer two TINY communities a couple of states away, unless Lance is just hellbent on having his own little kingdom.  It seems like it would be a huge drain on resources and attention.

Could they have paused the action back in Iceland to continue "gabby's" story in the studio? Maybe they will show him go back to talk to Rachel when we return to IL and then bring Rachel to the hot seat.
As others have said it was weird that he dumped both at the same time. Was he too lazy to do it separately? Or too anxious to get back to begging Susie.

That must have been Gaby leaving in the SUV, when I thought it was him.

Hello, how is no one in his family telling him he needs to break it off with Rachel and Gabby BEFORE he tries anything with Susie. NO “keeping his options open” allowed.

Think they've given up on him following advice.  When the mom said "Then why did you sleep with two other women" he looked at her like she was speaking an alien language.
