  1. Thank you for saying that...as a long time horror fan everybody knows that the military are always around....this "bugs" me as well...they will probably show up later and screw things up!

I like Nora and Fet as a couple, they have some chemistry...Dutch is alright only as a member of the group not that stupid love triangle BS that the writers are spinning.

This show is hit or miss with me...sometimes campy good...sometimes stupid!

I think that it's supposed to be like that because of that billionaire's influence. That is why he is so important to the Master. Also you can only guess how many other influential people are also on the Master's side.

But I admit that they haven't explained that properly - and also they did a complete mess with the strigoi being caught by cameras, because evidently that would've been the final straw before the military intervenes.

For all those who criticize the show, you shouldn't read the books. The books are hilarious compared to this show.

  2. Well, at least he is back ob board albeit under somewhat peculiar circumstances. Yet, I must admit that the new Qinlan has a kind of commanding presence which suits more to his role. So this new kid is actually an upgrade.

  3. There were some serious deviations from the book thus far. Most notable was Quinlan premature death in the movie. Also the civic forces (or some of them) are actively fighting the strigoi. In the book there were - apart from some gangs - hardly any other groups who tried to stop the vampires. Also Eph didn't go on a trip to Washington in the book. My gut feeling is that the show will actually go in a different direction compared to the books. I guess it's the sensible thing to do because the books wouldn't have worked as a blueprint for the series. (Maybe that's what the producers realized after the first season which didn't deviate that much from the book.)

  4. There are quite a few deviations from the books so far which is nice, because the loopholes in the books are much wider (and they couldn't have ended this show like in the books anyway).

Overall I think that the show is better than season 1. Of course the boy is annoying as hell (but if his character develops like in the books then this is only the beginning!), but I guess I can live with it.

  5. ..... I have no clue what to make of Peter. Did the writers forget he was so committed to evil Ilaria that he allowed himself to be turned into a zombie? Or did they hope the viewers would forget? Sarah, she waited until now to tell Alan he was the father of her immortal baby? She found out she was pregnant way back when the team was still in the Arctic....

Yeah, Peter's role is a conundrum. I mean he killed people when he was a zombie. Did he forget that? Why is Allan suddenly the only bad guy?

  6. Heartbreaking... but life is sometimes like that.

To me Ollie was killed and Tony could't accept that. He was clutching for straws, maybe because it was the only way he could go on.

Personally, I can relate - or at least I feel like it - to Tony. If I had lost a child like that, it would be very difficult for me to accept that.

To have made actually such a small mistake, but it had such harsh consequences.

Of course I am not happy with the ending, it was merciless to Tony, but I can understand the writers. Tony's search was probably unjustified from the very beginning of the events, so he just continued that way. We might think he lost it in Russia/Romania or whereever, but he had lost it already because the only thing that kept him alive was the search for Ollie.

  7. I think Stella deliberately picked Merlin because he is a similar type to Spector physically- attractive, athletic. I think she has an idea to throw him off through mirroring him slightly- like what she did with sending the officer in. Of course underneath it all he's going crazy wondering where she is. Would he still be able to keep quiet with her right in front of him.

That's a great interpretation. I was just thinking that Stella wanted an interrogator who looked liked Spector, but I didn't grasp the concept behind that.

What will happen next? For me there are two questions left:

    - Will Spector die or rot in jail?  (I guess, we will watch him dying.)

    - Will they find Rose? (I don't think that the burned car is directly connected with her. But I still think that they won't find her in time.)

  8. I have become so desensitized to people on tv and in movies not calling the police when it would solve their issues that it does not even register with me anymore.

Well, half of the shows wouldn't work if people were actually calling the police.

I do not like the final reveal. It is waste of opportunity not to have K4+R  lie to Annalise while she mad crazy about what happened with Sam in the second half of the season. ....

Yeah, I thought so too. It was too much in the new context.

  9. ++++++++++ SPOILER ALERT +++++++++++++++

I wanted to know what's on the stick!

It took them around 15 Minutes to show it!? I have the feeling that this turns suddenly into the usual detective story with the child kidnapping being a nice subplot.

Yes there were the scenes with Tony and his ex, which were quite good. But I had difficulties to connect to the other people. I find it unnecessary to learn something about the private life of the french detective. In my eyes it was too much. They should concentrate more on the case itself.

The scene at the school yard was powerful. It moved me seeing Tony standing there.

  10. I don't know. I just think that there won't be an easy endling like:

    - he is still alive or he is dead

It will be really complicated. I could think of an ending where he is living with a french family and has forgotten his past.

That would suit the atmosphere of the seriesm, which is kind of dark and hopeless.

So, I can't expect a proper happy end.

  11. Finally, I was waiting for a thread on this.

Love the series. It's tense and at times it makes me sick cause it's so awful when you relate to the charachters and their experience.

The mixed french-english setting is brilliant.

Abduction flicks in France are kind of a classic move since the days of Frantic.

  12. I was so ready to kick my TV in if Brody was really undead.

I agree with you now. But at that moment I'd have loved if he had really returned.

Homeland is missing an actor with the skills of Damian Lewis.

  13. ...

It's a female lead but one who is WHOLLY dependent on male intervention and protection just to get through a day. aaaaaaargh

    ...

If you look at the big picture that's what this show is about. It is the story of an unsecure, slightly disoriented woman who needs her daddy to show her how the world works and how to be successful in your job.

Megan Boone started well in the pilot. She changed her face expression quite a few times.

But from there she deteriorated enormously. As I've heard she's in the running for the lead in "Pinnochio - The wooden puppet".

  14. Carrie didn't look at Aayan and decide to seduce him.

That was her strategy from the beginning, encouraging Farah to touch him when she first made contact with Aayan.

Seems that's the only play she has in her playbook.

Yeah, that's kind of cheap. Let the female agent play with the boy or vice versa.

But, honestly why did it feel icky? It did, but why? I had difficulties watching the last 5 min of the episode.

  15. So glad it was an offer and not, oh he's a qr too. Did my eyes deceive me or was there a door with qr on it? Because that's pretty silly. I'm glad they didn't go for a cheesy tis Marcus being revived ending.

    ...

Can we be sure that it was just an offer? I thought they left it open whether it was an offer or he really is a qr?
