  1. By far this is my favorite show out of the zillions of offerings on TV. I’ve always been a little sensitive to the audio on shows, some of them are so loud you can barely hear the narration. On this show though, the person/people that work on the background music should definitely receive an Emmy - it’s  in sync with the subject matter, never “in your face”, and oftentimes makes me laugh - like what is played when talking about animal breeding, or when huge elephants or rhinos are walking around. It’s appropriately subtle and it’s so well done - HATS OFF to this Show for the marvelous production, yay England!

  2. I see that nobody has posted here in 2020 so I don’t know if anybody will even see my post, but...

I’ve only recently came across this show and while there are parts of it I very much enjoy, specially the arts and crafts, I find that Cameron Mathison is the most pompous person I think I’ve ever seen on TV.  I don’t know why they even have guests on because he constantly talks over them and makes every segment that he is in all about him and whatever he is working on. It gets increasingly more difficult to not focus on how narcissistic he is - in my opinion he really ruins the show. I get that he had his own cancer journey but so have I and so have millions of other people so he really needs to stop looking at the camera and making odd movements with his hands and arms just to compel the audience to make the show all about him. Thankfully I have the ability to record it so I can fast forward sometimes when he is on, but in the parts where there is a guest chef or DIY specialist on and I so much want to hear what they have to say, he almost always makes that hard to do - he continually turns EVERYTHING around to and about him. I also wonder if his colleagues on the show (or probably peons in his eyes) secretly don’t enjoy working with him either, it’s hard to tell because everybody is always 100% on their best behavior. Just wondering if I am the only one that notices his egotistical ways?

Did anyone watch last night's update about the Daniel Markel case?  Y'all know it.  Florida State University law professor in the midst of nasty divorce is shot and killed.  His ex-wife is from a wealthy family of dentists. She, her brother, and her parents are suspected of paying for a hit.  Only problem is they have managed to insulate themselves. One of the shooters was convicted, but his girlfriend's (the alleged go-between between the shooter and the Adelsteins) trial ended up in a hung jury.  The suckiest part is that the State of Florida STILL can't find the evidence to nail the ex-wife or her family.  None of them have been arrested.  Grrr...because you will never convince me that they aren't involved.  A hitman from Miami doesn't drive to Tallahassee just to shoot some random guy in the guy's driveway.

Thanks Ohmo for opening the floor on this topic… My blood is still boiling and I couldn’t get my thoughts together to do so myself. I am so angry at this story, it could not be more obvious that this was a set up, yet the entire family got away with it.  To deny the dead husband‘s parents access to the grandchildren plus to change the boys’ names back to their mother’s maiden name is the epitome of adding insult to injury.  I am deeply ashamed that they are of the same cultural background that I am and I sincerely hope that they ALL get their just desserts both in this world and the hereafter, should there be one. When the show first started and Dateline announced that they had been following the story since the beginning and would now update us, I was so excited to hear that at least the brother was going to jail if not the ex-wife and their parents...but NOTHING at all happened to any of them, which makes me so bitter and so sad.

I have had it up to HERE with Andrea making a mockery of the Mormon religion. I am an atheist and even I am offended.

Thank you! I’m Jewish so I thought I probably don’t have the right to comment… but nothing that comes out of her mouth makes any sense to me. The comment about not blessing your food first giving you Covid was so pathetic  and it reminded me of the early 90s when some people thought G-d gave gay* people AIDS as punishment. She should shut her trap and not be seen on TV anymore AND/OR not have her kids at all - she’s almost as vile as Angela.

That was another thing that struck me in that episode-at one point Melanie goes, "I can't be an evil genius and incompetent all at the same time."

And I was like, "...who's calling you an evil genius here?" People were talking about how methodical the murder was, yes, but for one thing, that doesn't automatically make someone an "evil genius", it just shows they're capable of scheming and knowing how to plot things. You don't necessarily need to be a brilliant mastermind to do that.

For another, there are plenty of murderers who are under the belief that they're so smart that they managed to commit the perfect murder and nobody will ever catch them, and who pride themselves on all the lengths they went to to try and cover their tracks...only for them to be tripped up by some small detail that they either didn't notice or didn't think about or didn't plan for or whatever. I think she's frustrated that her seemingly perfect scheme got undone so easily, and by making that "evil genius" comment, she (unknowingly?) tipped her hand a bit there.

OMG Annber03, how did you get yourself into my head?! I agree with every solitary thing you wrote, and was hoping somebody would bring up last night’s show (but then thought maybe it wasn’t a new one). I thought her guilty when this story first came out and even guiltier today. I can’t stand it when people try to defend themselves by saying crappy things about the person they offed since they’re not here to defend themselves, but that shouldn’t  give anybody license to say whatever they want. I bet her parents even liked the guy when he was alive but now they’re saying crappy things as well - so I don’t believe anything they have to say either. I can’t remember what it was but I thought when this case first happened that they had some kind of proof that the stepfather was in on the maiming, but it wasn’t strong enough evidence for the courtroom. I never understand why they bring these kind of stories back up unless the Podcasters want to try and make some money off of it or perhaps her parents paid them to come out with this stuff - like someone expects that we’ll all write our congressperson to get Madwoman McGuire out of jail?  I was also very pleased that they gave her children to their dead father‘s family instead of hers because she is evil through and through and must’ve got it from somewhere.

....But pretty sure my issue with Angela would be that her own life is a giant clusterfuck.  I certainly don't need  her help or advice in screwing up my own shit.

Apologies in advance for being so superficial, but she’s incredibly hard to look at because of her homeliness. I could go into detail but I’m sure I don’t really have to point out all her “unfortunate” issues. However, we all have known people who aren’t attractive but their personality makes up for it in many ways. With Angela though I can never ever get over the fact that when she picked up Tony from jail, she almost instantly asked him if he wanted to go for a steak dinner or receive a B***Job first - in the front seat.  I was incredulous - even if a producer ask you to say that, would you really do so on national television (or in anyone’s earshot for that matter).  That and her ugliness, chain smoking, the awful raspy voice, her constant screaming, and now prison shopping for a F***Buddy, etc. etc. - she has got to be the most vile woman on earth.  I seriously cannot think of one redeeming quality about her that makes her less awful.

Not to defend her fashion sense or lack thereof, but if you watch closely, they're usually wearing the same clothes every time so they can more easily swap in scenes from several days (if you watch Great British Baking Show, they wear the same clothes so the editors can use footage from all days). Again, not to defend magenta and yellow together!

I also thought that her saying on Instagram that she was now pregnant explained the dresses but I'm not sure of the timeframe either...

Hi ML89!  I should have edited myself better, I had a feeling that my line would’ve been misunderstood. What I meant was because there was only an opportunity for her to wear one outfit, out of the gazillions that she keeps inferring about, I’m surprised that’s the outfit that she picked because I found it to be very unflattering and ugly - pregnant or not. I have noticed on plenty of reality type shows that the outfits (especially in shows with judge panels) aren’t true of the actual filming which “secretly” drives me nuts, though I know the reasoning behind it. I’m too cynical for my own good!

I couldn’t agree more.  I thought her husband was a doll and she should take her head out of her butt and realize what a good guy he is to put up with her crap. She’s not even fashionable in the slightest. She wore that one hideous pink polyester dress almost the whole episode and it was extremely unflattering and the shoes were ridiculous. To spend all that money on bad clothes (and with her not working, where does she go to to be seen in all those outfits anyway?) and to have to get a four bedroom house to put up with her vanity is just insanity to me. I think the blind cat would be a better dresser than she ever could be, so why she has a blog is beyond me. I would never ever go on it except maybe to get a good laugh. Perhaps I shouldn’t be so mean, but she was really hard to watch - so self-centered and for what reason I couldn’t tell you. Even though  she said it twice about her husband, SHE is the actual buzz kill. I feel very sorry for such a sweet man, he does not do deserve to be treated like that at all.

  10. First time contributor to this Forum…

Before I even saw the other comments about this particular show, this was the first time that I was really compelled to write in. I didn’t get the sense of these two even knowing each other, much less having been married for any length of time. Zero affection shown and they seemed entirely insincere.  Completely showed  their true colors when they settled on a house that’s smaller than my master bathroom (slight exaggeration!).

All these shows are starting to blur into each other; I totally agree with another writer about wanting to watch the show to see what the world is like out there internationally, but every single episode it seems like they’ll pick one spouse to be the be-atch and both of them saying pretty nasty things to and about each other on national television.  Even the real estate broker gets in on the act, like his job is the toughest one in the entire world because the spouses disagree with each other? Boo-hoo

I’m sorry to sound mean, but the girl in this episode did not seem even old enough to have been with this guy as long as they said they were plus I wanted to smack her hand off her hip and push her head lower (nose was literally stuck up in the air) like she was so holier than thou.  If I had to pick one of them to spend some time with, she would be the last one on this planet. Such a turn off, where do they find these people? My husband would never talk to me again if I dissed him on national TV and/or vice versa...just sayin’!

HHI, change your schtick- it’s getting really old already... same reason I stopped watching House Hunters (USA) to begin with, same routine every single show.

Newsflash: Victims of longterm sexual abuse that happened 25+ during their childhood years ago sometimes misremember details. SHOCKING.

Just finished watching and need to chime in.  I was abducted over 50 years ago when I was eight years old.  I could narrate the entire event second by second as hardly a week goes by that it doesn't pop up in my mind - but the heinous act itself, not what I was wearing or what car he drove, etc. etc. BELIEVE ME, that stuff fills so much of your head and heart causing so much mental anguish that your brain has to weed out superfluous details for one's own sanity.

  13. The only shows on FN that I’d ever seen was the “Next FN Star” and, years ago, several “Iron Chef” and ”Chopped” episodes - so I don’t have a clue who these judges are. I thought I’d check out this Forum to see if anyone else thinks Lorraine is overly critical of most of the contestants...I don’t like her at all and I’m surprised to instead read a lot of negative comments about Nancy who doesn’t seem to say an awful lot.

I thought this was a brand new show and that Clinton was the ‘permanent’ Host - he’s the only reason I tuned in because I LOVED him on “WNTW” (and have hoped for years now that he’d bring it back on the air though not so much with Stacy because she was frequently down right mean). I don’t bake at all and don’t have a sweet tooth but I love me some CK.

I very much appreciate that in these four episodes so far I haven’t seen any back-stabbing and/or negativity between the contestants, which is something I can’t stand about contest shows....though tonight I did see Skunk Lady screaming like a banshee MORE THAN ONCE for everyone to get out of her way - the nerve. That on top of her brash personality so far made me super mad that she won, she’s just awful.

I agree with everyone’s opinions on this page so far - Michelle’s collection should be first in the trash not as the winner.

Maybe I’m too much of an idealist, but It really burns my butt that somebody who is so critical and rude of everybody else’s work, does nothing but yap all the time and steals her colleagues’ focus, and is just an all around nasty person should not have had the karma to have won this.

There was always something so suspect about how much Isaac, Alyssa’s, Anne, and sometimes even Georgina would kiss this awful person’s butt. I hope anyone out there that may have any input on her future will have seen her true colors throughout the season and not progress her career any further.

So let me see if I understand this.  It's okay for Jasmine to give Will a 5, but it's not okay for Will to give her a 6.8.  Alrighty then.  And Jasmine, just so you know, you can't take sex off the table when it was never on.

I have a feeling Luke is going to talk Kate out of getting a divorce to save face and then dump her as soon as the cameras are gone.

I totally agree with you about these two couples. I also think that Mr. Passive Aggressive’s going along with the “marriage experiment” is somehow connected to his moonlighting gig as a Speed Dater Host. Poor sweet Kate, she doesn’t deserve any of this.

Alyssa has been hosting All Stars since S3, which aired in 2013. Angela Lindvall hosted S1 and Carolyn Murphy hosted S2. I remember almost nothing about how well the first two did as hosts. I guess the producers decided that they liked Alyssa enough to have her stay on instead of having a new host every year. Whatever the reason, it has nothing to do with anything she has done politically in the recent past.

Every week I can’t help wonder about the awkwardness that must be in the air with Alyssa being a forerunner with the #MeToo movement and Georgina being (ex?) Mrs. Harvey Weinstein.

I am “happy” to have others agree with me about Ann - why the bitch fest all the time (perhaps bitter about not being asked to judge like Nina was?)? Plus, even if I got them for free, I would never wear anything designed (or copied) by Michelle - she was a vile commentator about everybody’s look in other PR seasons too...just an awful personality.

Mmmm...maybe that friend she bounced out of the wedding party somehow started all this nonsense - the story line sounds ridiculous and, as others pointed out, this show hadn’t yet aired to supposedly create all this (fake) drama?

  19. Brand new to this site… so apologies if already addressed. I find Amanda to be one of the most annoying people I've ever seen on the show and I wish someone would slap that smug look off her face. Maybe I am not a professional in the fashion world, but she has zero talent. It is very apparent to me that she either knows somebody really well or is sleeping with one of the people who put the show together. I do not know anybody who would ever wear anything in this woman ever made, yet she is permitted to come back every week. If she is continued to push through to fashion week, then the secret is out that this show is one giant scam.
