  1. The show's staff find the documents from real small claims court; I'm sure they rewrite them on the show's own "forms" and have the parties sign them.

At least in NYC small claims court, there is absolutely nothing in the application to file a lawsuit about the suit. Several years ago, I brought a small claims case and all they really asked was plaintiff, defendant & amount of damages suing for (by the way, I did get an invite from People's Count to have the case tried there).

  2. Now that the 'clue of the day' is back up, I spoil myself whenever I remember. Looked at yesterday's FJ and could not come up w/the word, perhaps because my brain's been frozen lately & working half-speed. While watching the show last night, about 1/2 way through the music the lightbulb went on as I was thinking of math words we get from the Arabic - like words that start w/Al- .

  3. Wow, I think I was exhausted from 5 Expresso Shot litigant. JJ never has that much patience. The staff must have been whispering in her earpiece to keep it going for Sweeps Gold.

We had snow & ice here in NY and I don't think at this point that CBS2 would've dared pre-empt again to show us their weather maps at every different angle.

  4. Wow, I had the same brain fart on Hinckley as the player had- would they take "the guy who shot Reagan"? And I think his name pops up more often in the news than Chapman's. Thought I heard diptherius too. And horse seemed very obvious when you're talking about engine power.

  5. Being from the "great Empire State" I was a bit sad that they performed so poorly on the Governors category. Bloomberg thought he was mayor of NYS. I was figuring that Mario Cuomo (RIP) would be a low value question as he's probably the most recognizable of our govs.  Also, was surprised not to see Rockefeller or our more recent Spitzer or Patterson.

I stumbled on Iron Lady as I thought 1976 was too early for Thatcher (history, even recent, is not a strong suit) but got it at the end.

  6. Got Taft right away when previewing FJ yesterday. Hanging my head, by admitting I said Einstein the other night, not making the connection that they were going for a Scandanavian scientist. I may have blanked anyway, since I thought it was a throwaway line that the speech was made in Stockholm where the award is given. Forgot that you generally need to use everything in the clue.

  7. Being a long time game show fan, I like this show because it's like a cross between Password & Pyramid, though I'd be dead in the water w/current names. Have also become a big fan of Craig's over the years - the man's proven he can do just about anything, and he gives just enough snark. I had no problem w/Tonto & couldn't understand why in 3 shows last week where Ronald Reagan was the clue, he was only guessed correctly once.

  8. I usually preview the FJ clue on the website, but think they forgot to post it yesterday. As soon as Alex said "Restaurant chain", Ruby Tuesday popped into my head. Had more difficulty w/the last one - the 2 time Tony winner. I guessed Julie Andrews, then Carol Channing, as I had no idea.

  9. How about we take a shot whenever somebody without a valid license buys a car. . .

    . . . or buys a car in somebody else's name to avoid SOMETHING. . . . . . .

... or the phone w/the relevant texts/pictures, what have you broke or fell in the toilet or was otherwise replaced just last week.

  10. How about that the clue about cruise ships that mentioned Central American country. Correct answer was Panama, (which I thought everyone knew). Player said Costa Rica & Alex says, 'Well you were in the right part of the world". Shut up, Alex.

Count me in as shocked too that no one got Jackie Robinson. 1947 was too early for Mickey Mantle & too late for Babe Ruth.

  11. Just one of geeky things I knew, as anything "history" flummoxes me. I knew GW's birth year was 1732, but didn't realize he was that despicable a character, even to the British. Had the answer almost before I finished previewing the clue yesterday. Today's FJ, not quite so easy for me.

  12. Lately, I've been previewing the FJ clue, and when I first saw that one thought it was Churchill. But then history & dates are not one of my strong suits. After giving it a few seconds, I responded Hitler, but hesitantly. For some reason I thought Churchill stayed in a long time.

I thought CFPB's were the chemicals they're trying to get out of plastics. Seriously, my bet is that no one ventured a guess, as you have to have the wording exact, and if they thought they knew, they weren't sure. My guess was something close to the answer, but not sure I got it exactly.

And even I knew that Diamond Head was on Oahu - geography's another weak link for me. A lot of surprising TS's lately.

  13. Harvey was even annoying way back when he would make the occasional cameo on Judge Wapner's PC.

I thought I was having a deja vu all over again watching the shopping cart case last week. A similar case was on several years ago where the "act of god" caused the shopping cart to go on a tear through the Stop & Shop parking lot. . Stop & Shop better take a closer look at the slope of their parking if they're going to assume liability - right, like the store will pay for every ding & dent caused by wayward wagons.

Speaking of dropping 't's whatever happened to the possessive 's'? That seems to have gotten lost too.
