I wish we'd gotten more of a plotline out of Ghost and how they found her. It felt really abrupt that Eve was able to just whisk off and arrest her. I also wasn't really sure what I was supposed to take away from Eve looking at herself in the mirrored observation room window for that very long moment and putting her hair up.

Geez, they love having Sandra Oh play with her hair on this show.

Absolutely! I just wish they would write Eve differently in dealing with her fascination.  The psychopath comes across as interesting and charming....Eve is just a mopey, self centred mess who’s on the verge of embarrassing herself most of the time.  The premise is great....the writing and execution could be better and all this season has done is confirm my belief that Jodie Comer should have been showered in awards for last season ..... not Sandra Oh.

    of course YMMV.

YES YES YES to all of the above.

It says something to me that I find the villain infinitely more likable than the "heroine".

I haven't seen the movie yet. Was there an energy vampire in the movie? I'd like to see what kind of powers Colin has. Up until last week I assumed he was really just a regular guy who bores people to death but it turned out he can levitate so he does have some supernatural abilities.

The whole thing with the cursed hat really cracked me up. Especially the way Nadja said she kept trying to throw it away, just like any wife who tries to get rid of her husband's crummy clothes.

Nope, no energy vampire. There was a newbie vampire that taxed the patience of the older ones though. The movie is 'must see'😊

My opinion has nothing to do with their political beliefs. I'm aware it's make-believe but objectifying women for their genitals is an old joke and just not funny to me. It doesn't endear me to the character.

I think this is part of why I really prefer the movie. It had a sweetness and innocence about it that was a great counterpoint to the fact that they were undead bloodsuckers 😁. Those vamps almost seemed like they just barely escaped puberty, they were so square.

The first time I ever saw Sam Rockwell was in Hitchhiker's guide. He was perfect as the cartoonish Zaphod Beeblebrox. Then he was kind a forgettable character in Galaxy Quest but I never thought he would rise to be one of those actors who completely disappear into the roles they play. He is the next Gary Oldman or Daniel Day Lewis.

Sam Rockwell was the sole reason I decided to watch this mini series. He amazes me. The genre and actual performers - Fosse/Verdon weren't familiar to me, but researching on youtube is eye opening. These actors do a really good job. And visually they are made up to be very close in appearance. I don't like the whole non-linear storytelling. Maybe laziness on my part, but they don't make it easy. Just add a date for crying out loud instead of countdowns to multiple events. Geez.

Progressive is running the game show commercial again with Gary who rings in before the question is even read.  It still makes me laugh the way he says "Wiegenlied."

I think that might be the actor who played Steve Newlin on True Blood. Looks a lot younger though.

I've done 10 hours driving with two cats. Nine minutes into the trip, Bosco started howling.

One of the scariest things I've experienced is driving to the vet with an 'un-carriered' terrified cat who was howling and panting with its mouth open.

Well, those facial masks don't come cheap, y'know...

That's why y'all are supposed to have life insurance. It's not up to the government to pay for your funeral.  I've already prepaid my cremation and plan on no funeral, so I'm good. My family won't have to ask SSA for any money. (But knowing my nephew, he will anyway.)

Before I die I want to swallow a bag of popcorn kernels. My cremation will be EPIC!

I don't think it screwed up his entire retirement plan.  I think it screwed up his dream car because he bought her a car instead.  And, probably because she actually may be, she looks at least in her mid-20s.  Maybe she kept flunking.  or maybe he decided to bribe some SAT people and a sports coach to get her into college.

I guess I was just thinking about the part where he is sitting down with his financial planner who explains it might be tight but they can make it work.

  10. I need to have this Principal Financial commercial explained to me. My first impulse is to like it cause it's warm and fuzzy and family, ya know? But then I'm wondering how hosting your granddaughter for less than a year to finish her last year in HS would really screw up your entire retirement financial plan. Plus, the dad is relocating, not being fired or anything so I would assume he'd kick in for her expenses. (Also that girl looks mid-twenties to me FWIW)

Of course, in Villanelle's head, she's doing the kind thing by killing Gabriel because he made her realize that she wouldn't want to live like that. Don't get me wrong - she is still a killer any way you slice it (no pun intended) but this a murder that she did not for fun or out or boredom or because she was being paid, but because she thought she was being compassionate.

Yeah, empathizing to a point, but still turning it around so as to apply to her.

  12. I just finished watching season 2 premiere. Pretty good but I've got to say that I find myself liking and feeling more sympathetically towards Villanelle than Eve. I'm not sure why but Sandra Oh's dialogue seems really contrived . Her snappy comebacks aren't funny and are off-putting to me. ("congratulations" to the couple in the park for example). I admit I'm not familiar with her work, I had only seen her in Sideways before this and neither she nor that movie made much of an impression on me. Jodie Comer on the other hand is pretty amazing at portraying a sociopath. And she is genuinely funny when it's called for. Too bad she lost out on the Golden Globe.

By the way, is it definite that Konstantin is dead? He was one of my favorite characters.

This show goes from blackout to white-out. As if the jumps didn't make this annoying enough to follow.

Yep, hard to hear and hard to see.
