  1. I don’t mind Ormwood. I think he can be an asshole but I’ve found him amusing and don’t think he’s the worst. It’s a plot line designed to garner sympathy. He’s facing the consequences of his actions. I’m good with that. I just don’t particularly care to watch it because I have no investment in this relationship. I would have saved this development for the end of the season and started the season with Ormwood coming to an independent conclusion to be a better husband. After they get to a better place and we see it, something throws a nuke in it.

  2. I enjoyed the Amanda/Angie (growth!) subplot the most this episode. They have a nice chemistry and play off each other well.

I get it’s Ormwood’s time for some character development and I’m good with the father/son bonding but I just don’t like domestic drama. I hope they backburn it for awhile now that they established the storyline. I think the science project is a cool idea but the vessel of application made me raise an eyebrow.

I love Faith and Trent. Climbing the ranks of my favorite cop duos. I hope after this episode we are back to case of the week episodes. I’m the weird one who prefers them.

  3. I missed this show!

Shocked they killed Cricket. Sad too. I thought she would have been fun with Trent. Please do not turn Trent into Benson. Misery porn is the worst.

I see Angie is still riding the Hot Mess Express. That said, I do like the character and I like her and Trent, though I don’t need them together romantically. I would be good with platonic vibes.

Putting a tracker on the wife’s car is in very poor taste. Especially given the history there. I do hope he and his wife work it out cause I hate him and Angie and do not want to watch him be single.

So Faith and Hot Doc did not work out? Pity. Wished we hadn’t missed the meet cute on this one.

I hope Mark Paul is returning. He was an unexpected highlight for me in the first season.

  4. LOL please no wig

This really surprised me. Could be good, but I have a hard time picturing it. Maybe cause I think they will try for a Harvey Specter type character and I can’t see him with that level of charm.

  5. EBR is really playing up the gravelly western voice and that wig on SA! LMAO

I’m interested for EBR and Rozon.

  6. This is such an intricate, full-bodied routine. Meryl’s hand positions throughout the routine astonished me.

  7. Just posting to say I’m sorry this was the last season. It deserved more than a last minute notice but I appreciate that they did the best they could.

This is the only show I can I think of that I loved all the characters. A rare gem to have such fantastic chemistry in the group.

  8. I started a Gilmore Girls rewatch and was pleasantly surprised to find this forum still semi active. Decided to post a few random thoughts.

Dean is really a special duck. Few characters get worse with every viewing. I remember watching the show when it was airing and liking Dean initially. That waned as the show went on but I didn’t remember him as being that bad. Later rewatches made me realize he was basically a tampon commercial with all those red flags. That scene were he blew up at Lindsay? First watch, that’s guilt and fear. Now? That felt like he was angry she even existed.

Also Dean related, Lorelai was really weird about him. She felt more Team Dean than Team Rory. I would be so concerned about a boyfriend who constantly needed to call her, know where she was at and she was genuinely afraid to upset.  I wish she would have sat down Rory in S2 and said, you aren’t sure if you want to be with Jess and you don’t seem to really want to be with Dean (also he’s getting creepy), let’s try being single and focus on school and friends instead.

Speaking of Jess, I was really disappointed in Lorelai’s lack of empathy of his situation and Luke’s. Jess was a punk absolutely. He was teenager who got abandoned by one parent and dumped by the another. Forced to uproot to a place he didn’t know, with an Uncle he hardly knew. I understand him being a punk. Lorelai I don’t understand though. She tried the bare minimum and had her back up seemingly from the get go. I hated how she went off on Luke after the accident.

  9. I admire Gracie for all she has come through but I feel like she shuts down every time she steps on the ice. Maybe it’s the programs. I don’t know. She said she loves it but I wish I could see that.

That's what I'm worried about...distracted & maybe really ready to move on and they haven't acknowledged it yet. When they described their FD yesterday, all about their love, my reaction was, "Oh s**t".  Whenever skaters skate about themselves, it shuts everyone else out & that's not what figure skating has ever been meant to be about.

I remember when they talked about wanting to skate to programs and music that would bring non skating fans in and I’m like ‘yes! That!’

  10. I haven’t been able to watch the free dance yet (and nbc messed up the upload on YouTube so who knows if I will), but I’ve been concerned about c/b since I heard them describe their program. It was vague and aimless and just ‘love’. The snake charmer and alien programs had a very specific storyline.

  11. Hanyu is a beautiful skater who seems like a nice guy. He deserves better than his stans.

I’m a little behind. Has the whole Russian doping thing been dropped?

  12. I could see Kate and Anthony getting a decent amount of focus next season for two reasons. 1) The lack of screen time they got during their season has been vocally criticized and 2) Pen and Colin lack heat, Kate and Anthony can take some pressure off them in that regard.

  13. This season has stuck with me a lot more too and I think it’s because of Jonny. You read some regency romance and you think that’s romantic or swoon worthy but you really can’t imagine it in live action without it seeming ridiculous. Jonny nailed it. The conviction to the romance and the smolder. Lordy. *fans self*

Off the top of my head, both she and Violet were at the river when Anthony was staring Kate and Dorset down, and Violet noticed. She had opportunity, maybe she just didn't have the experience. Although 'books of love' being a personal favorite, she could have had some inkling.

There's something to be said for obstinance as a family trait. Kate was set on Edwina marrying, and Edwina was set on marrying Anthony, and they were both mulish about it.

For sure the River and the whole Pall Mall and Bee episode. Daphne clocked that chemistry in .002. Someone did a compilation gif set of all the times Anthony stares at Kat or they exchanged looks around Edwina. When Anthony doesn’t propose at dinner and then has that dance with Kat which caused him to walk away.

Yes, they never vocalized it. But there was enough there to cause Edwina to suspect something more was goin on.

When Edwina asked if she was just that blind? It was funny because it was true. The show was saying..yeah, you were. It was there.

  15. I’ve seen Eloise referred to as “not like other girls” x10 and that’s a big turn ugh for me. It’s insulting to other women. I hope they pull it back because outside of that I really like Eloise. I would love the opposites attract trope for her and have her fall for a strong silent regal type.

This season showed me that revealing Lady W so early hurt Pen as a character. I wish we had gotten to know Pen outside of her alter ego first.

  16. I had hopes that Edwina wasn’t so clueless in this episode. After watching Kat and Anthony play Pall Mall and then suggesting they spend more time together, I thought maybe…. But nope.

I felt for Edwina being so out of place with the family and the dinner scene. At the same time, her lack of awareness was frustrating. She was perfectly content being the focus and didn’t look much beyond that till she was forced too. I struggled to like her for that.

I think the problem with the next few seasons is that the romances will be pretty lacking compared to s1 and 2. Benedict - eh, Colin - just no, Eloise - maybe if they change it up because I can’t see her believably going for Marina’s husband (maybe she will go for Marina instead and they will kill off the husband lol), Francesca - maybe, although I couldn’t even pick her out of a line up now.

This is why I find the Bridgertons series an odd choice. It’s very uneven in quality. I love the family dynamics but the romances are dull (with a couple exceptions). There are much stronger series out there.
