  1. Lots of Jews, including my ex,  have a tree and gifts.    They don't celebrate Jesus per se, but just enjoy a fun holiday.    Somehow, his reform congregation hasn't kicked him out or excommunicated him or shunned him.   Nor his more religious sister, who also enjoys the fun parts of the holiday.

The only reason my Jewish husband celebrates Christmas is because he married a shiksa. The only reason my in-laws come to my house at Christmas is because they can see their grandchildren. My in-laws have never ever decorated their home for Christmas.

  2. Again, I ask how this absolves Heather from spreading gossip?  She DID spread gossip, right? Still not seeing how this is Shannon being in the wrong. She used bad judgement and told someone she probably shouldn't have told.  That person told another person, being Heather, who then thought it was A-Okay to repeat it to a group of people.

Shannon was stupid.  I will agree to that. But Heather and Tamra were malicious.

Since we did not see or hear what Heather said at the luncheon I can't jump to the conclusion that Heather's comments were "malicious". If someone is openly talking about how awful her husband is and it becomes a topic of conversation among "friends" you go to the source. Shannon started the gossip. These women are only repeating what Shannon has said both privately and publicly.

  3.

Shannon filmed a scene where she went to the doctor to have her heart looked at because she said she was having palpitations. She said that this was on the day that she had received a shocking letter from David about moving out, and she assumed this was the reason for her health scare. I will assume she was very concerned, as she was going to an actual doctor with a Medical Degree and everything, vs. the quack she generally sees 3-4 times per week.  IMO, it defies logic to imagine that she was so upset at this point, and didn't tell anyone else about the letter, with the exception of Tamra, who she had known at this time for about 2 months.

This is critical because while she told Tamra about this off camera, but she also filmed a scene on the day it happened where she let a camera crew follow her around and document the drama surrounding the letter. She talked about getting it in her TH. This all occurred before we ever knew that Heather had told anyone anything.

I think she told lots of folks about this letter, as the issues in her marriage were not a shock to anyone who had spent more than 5 minutes with them. By her own admission their marriage has been in trouble for years.

It is stunning to me that Shannon has pretty much been able remove herself from any culpability on this issue. As others have said, she watched the show for years. She knew the personalities of the cast, and she certainly understood that editing could be a motherfucker. Yet she still came on her and started talking smack about her husband and her marriage from the beginning. She let Bravo fit her with a mic and follow her around with cameras. Yet she is pissed at others for talking about the personal things that she was talking to the world about. Yea, she won the season. Anytime it appears that a gal is being ganged up on by others and she is the victim in some manner, she will always win. Hell, even Alexis won and no one liked Alexis. It didn't appear to me that Tamra was being one bit malicious when she repeated the info to Heather (as much as I usually believe that everything Tamra says is malicious).  Shannon on the other hand came out looking extremely malicious when she talked about David early in the season. Telling us that he usually didn't drink, that we were seeing "fun" David - the one she never saw at home, that he didn't love her, that he didn't want to spend time with her. She is so totally and completely to blame for all of this it isn't even funny, but yes, she is still the winner.

I think Brianna won the season. Her ability to confront Vicki and be true to her feelings about Brooks was the most mature behavior I saw from any of the women.

I keep going back the Beador's dinner party and the digs Shannon vocally made against her husband in a room full of strangers. It was awkward and inappropriate. The cast talked about the strain in this marriage because Shannon made it an issue. It was obvious. I have hosted parties where my hubby and I were not getting along (it happens) and have never acted out like Shannon did. I would never try to humiliate him in front of our guests.

  4. Well, since she only told people off camera, it's hard to tell if she was telling "anyone willing to listen".  The fact is that she told Tamara off camera. Had she wanted it broadcast, she could have easily mentioned it on camera.  I'm not clear on how Shannon telling someone off camera absolves Heather from spreading gossip. Or, for that matter, how that puts Shannon in the wrong for wanting to find out how Heather knew about it.

Her husband sent the e-mail and she shot her mouth off about it. I don't care if she told Perez Hilton and they pinky sweared to keep it secret. Shannon blabbed and it bit her in the ass. She has no one to blame but herself. Good grief take responsibility. Shannon is the only one responsible for this. If my husband sent me that kind of e-mail I would be more worried about him and me and I certainly wouldn't tell a reality show cast mate about it.

She emasculated her hubby from the get go. We all saw it. Her confessionals were all about how he doesn't float her boat. She went TMI early on. If she is telling this to a camera crew I would bet my bottom dollar she wasn't discrete about that e-mail.

  6. For some reason, Lizzie just irks me (as you can see).  I think it's because any woman who makes a comment like she did about her husband's sexual activities and then tells another woman "You're just jealous b/c your husband wants to fuck me" (and I believe she said that) is a woman who has a very nasty underside.  Obviously we've seen nasty from the other nasty women, but I think this one has a strong one -- one that loves to play up the "everyone wants to fuck me" and the "you're just jealous" card.

Eddie sets off my gag reflex and Brooks makes me shiver in a bad way.I don't know which one is more repulsive. Probably Brooks. I don't know if Lizzie has a nasty underside but if this is what she is playing with I pity her. All the husbands on this show are gross.

  7.  I think , for the most part, the NYC housewives seem to be more willing to go "au naturale" in the make-up department.  I'm not saying they don't over-do on occasion but, on a day to day, one on one basis I don't see overkill. Sonja has flawless skin and she looks beautiful with just mascara and lip gloss. There are times that all I can see on these women are their fake eyelashes. I'm waiting for one to fall off and land in their "champs".

  8. That's not actually what happened, though. Shannon told Tamra about the e-mail off-camera (in private) and it was Tamra who told Heather about it (on camera), who then blabbed to her friends, and then Shannon got the text from her husband about it on camera. If Tamra hadn't blabbed about it, the e-mail (as far as we know) would never have been brought up.

It would have been brought up because Shannon was constantly telling anyone willing to listen how bad her marriage was. Do you honestly think that the only person Shannon told about the divorce e-mail was Tamra? A woman she barely knew and was on a realty show with? It defies logic.

  9. If you don't watch the scene and only listen to it -Heather's words aren't so harsh but with the hand motions, the zip it and the finger pointing it is quite severe.  "We're done!", is kind of the universal F-you in the RH world.  Shannon changed the words to "get out" but she didn't change the essence of Heather's message.  Heather on the other hand, attributed words to Shannon that were never spoken and gestures and of course, the yelling and screaming, that just never happened at Javier's.

I would have asked that hot mess to leave my house too. Shannon started the smack talk about her husband. She shot her mouth off about her marriage with cast mates and in front of cameras. I have no sympathy this woman. She shared something intimate on camera and then complains that others will find out? UGH!

  10. What irritates me is that Heather watched the show where she clearly says she had to kick Shannon out of her house. So why continue with her semantics bullshit during the reunion?

Heather asked her leave and the longer Shannon told the tale the less truth there was. Am I the only one who saw Shannon add drama where none existed?

  11. I agree.  I know this sounds like social elitism but, if you are "born to something," there are rituals and rites of passage that are part of a way of life, and that's another reason why I don't think it is odd or pretentious that Shannon has her children attend Cotillion.  And actually, there are Cotillions in this day and age that aren't by invitation only, so they aren't necessarily elitist either.

Alex and Simon were (are???) pretentious, social-climbing snobs.  The way they portrayed themselves seemed soooo over the top that is was almost farcical; they reminded me of Sir Walter Eliot and his daughter Elizabeth in Persuasion.

Simon and Alex are social climbers. They brag about it. They truly believe that teaching their young children how to recite silly poems in several languages is a mark of intelligence and therefore admirable. Nope. I child will mimic words but a brilliant child will know to use the words when it is appropriate.

  12. I actually do believe it. A number of HW's and HW couples go through marriage troubles on the shows, but never before has a new couple been introduced to viewers as maybe separating/contemplating divorce. We didn't even know them yet, and yet here they were crying on another HW's shoulder (who also didn't know them), and feeling sad and asking for sympathy. It was just so weird. And a lot of us (including me!) said this at the time. Plus, how did the season end? With Shannon and David "stronger than ever" and back in love. Color me shocked! So Shannon (undoubtedly aided by a producer) strategizing this plot point? I believe it.

I believe it too. Shannon Beador had no problem telling the audience how awful Shannon Beador's husband was. It started from the first introduction of Shannon Beador's husband. Poor Shannon Beador. Shannon Beador's husband sent Shannon Beador an e-mail and Shannon Beador told Tamra and a crew of camera people about the e-mail and then poor Shannon Beador got upset that it was a topic on the reality tv show she signed on to do. Shannon Beador never meant that to happen.

  13.

I'm a gay boy & I thought Vicks' boobies looked pretty good.  Her prejudiced nonsense about gays is another story.  Still don't get why Andy didn't even attempt to counter her moronic stereotyped comments, instead of just making stupid cutesy faces.  Man, I fuckin' hate his guts.

I hated Vicki's dress. It looked like someone decided to stitch a nude pantyhose into the low cut neck and her boobs were encased in sheep's intestine. Her idiotic explanation of her stereotyping both the gay community and Asians was jaw dropping.

  14. I've had bangs for a very long time....and yes, it is because I hate my forehead, and also, I have a few wrinkles and won't do botox because I don't want to look like I'm constantly being surprised....

I've had bangs for as long as I can remember and pictures of me show. I like bangs. I look nice with bangs. I'm not hiding anything.

  15.  No more Brooks. The second he came on my TV screen and opened his mouth I was done. He makes my skin crawl. He is the creepy uncle that asks you to sit on his lap and strokes your hair. SHIVER!!!! Brooks talking about affirmations and giving the "evil eye" is insane. Is Vicki so starved for attention that she allows this sycophant to come between her and her daughter?

  16. She had one finger on one side of her face and the others on the other side of her face. It's more of a grab to me, but OK, let's say touch. When she touched her, she was standing above Aviva, who was standing sideways in the middle landing of a stairway with yet more stairs to her right. The touch caused Aviva to take a step back, again, in the middle landing of a stairway with more steps on one side of her.  Anyone could have easily lost their balance. The point remains that it was grossly inappropriate. But if more context is needed: they were arguing, both giving as good as they were getting, and, to the best of my knowledge, Aviva had not touched Carol. So it was also a violation of physical boundaries.

As for the rest, I agree with everything else, except she could have just said: “I believe she uses her phobias to garner sympathy.” No need to claim she has a specific disorder. But I'll just have to agree to disagree with those of you who think otherwise.

    Back on topic:

I'm really curious if the episode that aired on Bravo had all the "fucks" and "fuckers" censored like the episode available for streaming. That was the funniest part for me! The way Heather just kept saying motherfucker to explain what motherfucker is. It had to have been a record number of f-bombs for a reunion, particularly since they weren't even having an angry screaming match at that point.

Can't argue that Aviva was standing on a landing with stairs to the left and right of her. So what? Aviva was screaming about how Carole wasn't there for her.  I can argue that both gave as good as they got. Aviva went nasty with the Kennedy reference. Don't do it. JFK Jr was the best man at her wedding. Don't try to denigrate that relationship.  If Aviva wants respect she should give it.

  17. Responding to Mozelle, Jelliebean and WireWrap:

Yes, context matters. However, in this particular situation the context is resulting in a white-wash of Carol's behavior, in which the severity of two of her actions, in particular, is not being recognized. That's where I say you have to take the polarizing figure and her actions out of the equation and just look at what Carol's actions were.

Those two actions that, in my opinion, elevated Carol's behavior to the beyond the pale level's of Aviva's behavior, were: the face-grab in the staircase, and the claims of a specific mental disorder on national TV.

Carole did not GRAB Aviva's face. Watch it again. Carole touched her face and Aviva said "don't touch me". As far as Munchausen goes Aviva does rely on her phobias to garner sympathy. Aviva uses what happened to her 40 years ago to dismiss how awful she is. Anyone who calls her out for being a brat is horrible because she lost part of the leg. Aviva thinks she can be as nasty as she wants to be and everyone has to fall in line. Her father is a pig, her first husband is a hot mess and Reid is a schmuck who refers to the other housewives as fat old women gone wild.

You just can't take that out of the mix.

  18. Do you mean this little tirade? Aviva to Heather,

“Do you know what hurt me?

    Do you know?

    You don’t have any idea?

Do you want me to tell you?

    Should I say it?

I have something that hurt me that I want you to know what it is and you should know but you don’t so do you want me to tell you or not or maybe tomorrow?”.

I don't think she ever actually said what it was. Poor, poor Aviva.

Yes! This is what I was referencing. F'ing Dramatic.

  19. Where I thought Heather was inciting Carole is at the 23 second mark, when she was reminding Carole that she has "a career.  A career as a writer.  A cah-reeeer" and Carole says:

"You know?  I know. You don't have to explain to me.  I'm a writer."

I interpreted Carole, putting her hands up, shaking her head and interrupting Heather to say, "I can't. No...I can't with her" to mean:

I don't want to hear anymore right now.

But Heather kept right on going.  Sometimes what a friend needs, Heather, is just for you to shut up and listen.  LIke Carole said in the other clip posted, Heather talks a lot.  That's why I felt Heather was ramping the situation up.  And then Ramona happened.

If Carole has felt steamrolled by Heather it will only become really obvious or not, if they're brought back for another season.  Hope so.

Carole talked over Heather and Heather talked over Carole. In the end they both agreed that Aviva was worthy of an eye roll and a minute of sympathy.

  20.

I believe Carol's behavior is being judged through the lens of Aviva's behavior, instead of as the separate entity that it is. If you take Aviva out of the equation, Carol's behavior is clearly inexcusable; however, in this case it is the result of anger from inexcusable actions against her so it is accepted and rationalized. I wonder if the situation was reversed and someone more likable had been the one to spread the ghostwriter rumors about someone less likeable and if the claims of Munchausen had come from someone like Aviva towards someone like Carol, what the reaction would have been.

You can't take Aviva out of the equation. If you took Aviva out of the situation there would be no situation. Carole's reaction is not a separate entity. It is a direct reaction to a woman who took glee spreading gossip because in her sad twisted mind Carole didn't give her a parade with a marching band. Aviva seems to think that everything she does deserves adulation. She is sick.

    • Love 3
  21.  I also didn't see Heather in that clip doing anything to incite Carole. She was telling her what Aviva had said, nothing more. The person trying to get Carole to be confrontational, on camera, was Ramona. Of course once things got really going, Ramona fled, per usual.

I just watched it again. Heather and Carole were quietly talking about the gossip Aviva was spreading and at one point both were rolling their eyes and giggling at how ludicrous what Aviva said was. Ramona came in and lit the fuse.

In Aviva's "confessional" she pretty much admits it is gossip and spread it because Carole hurt her feelings. I guess Carole didn't put up a banner saying RAH RAH Aviva! You did it (with the help of a village)!

  22. I think it is Heather's nature to call someone out if they are saying nasty things about a friend. Heather stood up for Sonja during the meeting with Aviva by telling her that some of the things she says about other people are vile. I find this quality admirable. Kristin let Ramona say some unkind things about Johathan without speaking up and she looked like a weak willed weasel. When Heather said Aviva "character assassinates" people she was right. I have yet to see Aviva have a disagreement with a cast mate without throwing in an ad hominem attack. She has the argument skills of a six year old.
