    I haven't watched the 7th episode.

I'm not feeling as sorry for Claudia as I think I'm supposed to. Yes she's trapped by Lestat because he wants Louis to be happy instead of mopey, but without that issue, she's free to come and go as she wish since she can pass as an older teen (or she can tell people she's young looking). She went on a date, go out wandering the town by herself, and she even traveled during the university tour. Nobody will question her like they would Book Claudia.

Louis really needs to let her go. It's not like she can't come back to visit him.

Louis did let her go. It was Lestat who went and force her back into the fold because he was afraid Louis would kill himself without Claudia there to give him some happiness. Lestat basically ignoring/ don't  know that Louis' depression is the reason he wants to kill himself and Claudia can't fix his depression. Claudia is trap because Lestat made sure she knew that if she left, he would do worst to her than Bruce did and Claudia believed him with good reason after what he did to Louis.

I was trying to understand his mother's thoughts.  Does she know that her son is gay?

Yeah, she suspected her son of being gay. I think that's one of the reason she seems to favor Paul over him. I really dislike how she treats Louis. I think her hateful statements to Louis after Paul had just died helped push Louis towards accepting Lestat proposal to be a vampire

Yet the show has to ignore this plot point.

I agree, Death and the others could have saved Dream. But I'm not sure if it's a plot point or a part of the story the writers are waiting to explore.

I don't think it's so clear that Unity was impregnated in the physical world. We know the pregnancy manifested in the physical world, but so did Lyta's. Desire fathered the baby, and Desire is an Endless. Desire is not bound to anything resembling human rules.

I'm already starting to forget the details, but I thought Unity spoke fondly and lovingly of her golden-eyed man. I think there's a philosophical question of can a human ever not desire Desire and thus can a human ever truly consent to Desire, but I don't think Unity was raped in the sense of not consenting. My personal philosophical interpretation is that humans will always consent to Desire because Desire will always be exactly who/what we want, but our consent is still honestly given.

Unity did speak lovingly about her golden eye "man". So base on her telling, it seems like they had a loving relationship in her dream.

I just assumed that she met a partner in her dreams and fell pregnant - and it manifested in her physical body - but not sure if I was following correctly.

    Spoiler

This is what happened. Desire was the partner. Technically, Rose is a descent of Desire. She has Desire's blood which is why Desire was trying to get Dream to kill her.

Putting this in spoiler tag because it is explain in later episodes.

I'm surprised she doesn't have a staff. Divide up the planet by region and ease up the workload.

She might, like Death. I have not read the comic but I wonder if they explore more of Death's realm.

  7.  I loved that Lucifer looked like she wanted to cry when Dream stated that hell power come from those in hell dreaming of heaven. Even Lucifer, while he is ruling hell, he is still dreaming of heaven.

I cried a lot during the first part of the episode. Touching and a bit scary at the same time.

The other half was also great and as others have said, they tied together nicely. I found Dream rather arrogant in that meeting in 1889, interesting that that happened just before his imprisonment that definitely made him see things in new light.

I thought the same as I watched that episode.

Death did mention that she is not always there for everyone. And I assumed she wouldn't be there knowing they were after her.

He also voiced over about the sleepy sickness and how being stuck in the bowl was adversely affecting humanity. Were we to take that he didn't care that humanity wasn't set right because he was in the bowl? Clearly, 100 years is a lot because his realm decayed and just about all of them left because they thought Dream abandoned him. So is it a lot of time or not? For him to not consider that leads one to ask how much he really knew his subjects.

He was spiteful and it cost him. That's fine. It's more interesting.

He was spiteful and vengeful, and to me that is understandable base on the circumstances.  It makes sense, especially when it's shown that he is/was cold and seemly inhumanly detached from not only humanity but also from his own "subjects".

What's the other option though? Stay trapped in the bowl for a 100 years out of spite while people can't sleep or can't wake up?

He is an Endless, 100 years is probably a month for him and he probably know that sooner or later these humans would make a mistake, like they always do and he would be free. And why should he care about what is happening with humans when they're the ones doing this to him. I get it.

I was so invested in Rose’s story that I kept forgetting about Dream.  Every time he popped back up I would go “Oh yeah, he’s in this too.”

Interesting because I felt the opposite the only time I was truly invested in Rose's story was when Dream was there and any connections to Dream, apart from Jed's side of the story. I was more interested in Jed's side of the story than Rose until the hotel.

  12. Realizing that Jasmine was Dream's companion for who knows how long, it makes totally sense why he wouldn't take Alex's deal after he killed his companion/friend in cold blood. It make sense for Alex to offer Dream that deal but It also makes sense why Dream rejected it. I would not have blame Dream if he had accepted the deal and still take vengeance against Alex.

    To be fair to Dream

      Reveal spoiler

a calamity did happen once they got together -- a fireball came down from the heavens and destroyed her civilization.

You mean to be fair to Nada? But when you consider who Dream is, it make sense for him not to care about that type of calamity because he probably seen hundreds/thousands (?) Of these things in his lifetime. So to him, this calamity is nothing compare to his love. 😂😂

These changes likely are the results of the demands of modern storytelling.

Modern girls aren't allowed to be damsels anymore, hence why Rose was a lot more empowered, was able to fight off the muggers this time and has given more agency in the story.

In this case it might have to do with both race and modern time because bw are usually not expected or written as damsels, simply because when they're written as damsels, the characters get more unreasonable hate than expected base on the storyline. So I think it might be a combination of them changing Rose's race and modern time.

They very well may deviate from what is in the comics some, but presumably will follow the general outline below:

      Hide contents

We are told the gist of what happened through an African folktale. Nada was a queen who happened to see Dream and fell deeply in love with him, and vice versa. But on realizing that he was one of the Endless, she knew that calamity would result if they stayed together. So she rejected him. That caused Dream to banish her to Hell for having the nerve to reject him. Because he's a douche. At the beginning of what would be the next arc, Death makes him realize that was a douche maneuver and he vows to rescue her from Hell even if it means re-engaging with Lucifer. Long story short, he does rescue her, eventually apologizes, and although there is still attraction after all they have gone through, she opts to be reborn and to get to live a new life.

Thanks for answering my questions. This is not a good look for Dream. I assumed she did something really horrible to him and that's why he banished her to hell. Humans or Endless men really can't handle rejection,  lol.

  16. I have not read the comic, so I have some questions for those who have read it. Will this be first and last time we see Nada and does the comic said what she did to Dream that caused him to banished her to hell and not forgive her after 1000s of years ?

Candice Patton will be back for Season 9; I really hope she got a pay raise!

But what I really want is for the writing to improve for both Iris and Barry; don't waste the two best characters and actors on the show.

The only original cast member we haven't heard about is Danielle Panabaker - but I assume she's coming back unless someone says otherwise.

If Candice is happy with her contract, I'm happy for her.

Also, they are looking to sale CW, triming down the fat ($$) is why I heard they canceled so many shows. I'm wondering if that doesn't mean them forcing EW to let go of some of the cast to save money. I'm sure Grant wasn't cheap (he shouldn't be ) and Candice looked like she was ready to go, she most have gotten something extra (as she should) to make her stay, so they have to save money somewhere.

Will there even be a S9 if CW is sold before it comes out or start filming ?

I really wonder how Candice Patton feels about Iris being offscreen or unconscious so many times this season with Barry being mostly unconcerned about her? Unless she wanted this much time off, it just feels like the writers are doing everything they can to keep Iris and Barry separated and/or out of each other's orbits this season

I don't know how Candice really feels about it and we might never know because she might not want to burn any bridges but base on Eric's interview, he seems to believe for the storyline sake Iris needed to be gone for at least 4 eps. Giving me more reason to want him gone.

Haven't read all the interviews yet, but I'm bracing myself for promises and ideas Wallace can't deliver on.

This is exactly why I stopped reading/watching/listening to his interviews because it just makes everything worst for me, knowing that he knows what needs to be done/ happen to make the season good, but it doesn't show up on screen.

For the love of me, I will never understand why Berlanti wanted a double wedding. Then, when the script was written, no one looked at it and thought "this could piss people off"? Seriously, what the hell? Them getting married next to puke wasn't cute either and still pisses me off.

I think they just believed that Arrowverse two most popular couples getting married together would be a big fan service that fans would LOVE and go crazy for.  I don't think they were really wrong in that aspect but it was how they did it that turned it into something that a lot of fans/reviewers/media hated.

I'm just really happy that the Flash writers decided to correct this stupidity before the show ends. And Iris is getting a MOH who actually loves her and support her.

Narratively, Barry & Iris have been through a lot in the three-ish years they've been married. And now they're embarking on a new chapter of their lives together as parents*, so I think a little family ceremony reaffirming their commitment to each other is appropriate.

*(Still sticking with my theory that Iris is pregnant.)

Also, narratively speaking, neithet Iris or Barry seems all that happy with the circumstances of how they got married(base on their comments after the crossover) they just accepted it because they badly wanted to be marry.

So it makes sense for them to do this, and this time have it be something that is not done in a hurry and with their family/love ones there to witness, especially  with their children.

But it is most likely not them who planned this , might just be something Nora and Bart plan for them because they know their parents wanted something like this.
