I do not know why, but Sam just bugged the hell out of me. He seems nice! He seems friendly! But he also came off as pretty try-hard, and I just COULD NOT by the end of this episode. Dude, I love a potato. I have loved many potatoes. But you are a little obsessed.

Sam was just 10000% bullshitting for most of the episode and through last chance kitchen. A potato curry is not innovative, no matter how many times you repeat a cute name for a dish. I think he was trying to cook something safe to get himself through the episode and then tried to pivot once he left the potatoes in the pot. I could buy a “oh I tried to char the potatoes to get a flavor similar to a tandoori oven” but either way, the potatoes have to be cooked.

Happy to see Jae do well! I’m hoping to get to her restaurant in the next few weeks, it sounds delicious.

Thank goodness we didn’t have to hear North Dakota whine about the “exotic” ingredients through the whole episode! Can you imagine if she got Filipino food?? She’d probably have managed to make chicken adobo sans the adobo 🤣🤣

I'd have to watch again to figure out who you're referring to but I'm 100% sure that was not Marta. Reports are she and Bela are long gone and back in Romania.

Morgan is going to the University of Florida.

Thank goodness! I’ll try to grab a screenshot but whoever she is looks just like Marta to me.

I grew up not far from Mary Lou Retton’s home town and literally went to a gymnastics school on Mary Lou Retton Drive. If Konner makes it to the Olympics the entire 304 area code will probably lose their minds with pride.

  3. It’s probably post partum hormones but all of the footage of younger Morgan with her little glasses made me tear up. She’s a really impressive woman, I hope she has the time of her life in college and then takes on the world! I could see her getting a Masters in Public Health or something similar.

Why was Marta sitting next to Tom Forster at the competitions? Shouldn’t she be banned from even smelling chalk at this point?

  4. Kirsten is a Rachel Hollis Tracy Flick hybrid and I don’t know how I feel about that yet.

ETA: The townhouse that Ryan toured is on such a busy block and it’s very hard to park around there. It’s right near Chelsea Market & Google and I know someone that rich has, to quote Kevin Gillespie, people for that shit, I don’t know if it’s where I would choose to buy in Manhattan. The star chandelier was stunning though.

  5. Bria is just awful, isn’t she? I can’t believe she’s only 24, it seems like she’s dealt with a whole lot of crap from Matt for someone so young. I expect that they’ll be divorced with at least 1 kid between them by 30.

Lexi is very talented and should probably have a bougie one room nail studio in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Closer to clients and far away from Suffolk county.

Lexi and Foxy are 100% keeping that salon afloat IMO. Bria’s work is not very good and is crazy expensive, I’ve been to salons in Manhattan that are half the price of color by Bria. Jen was right for once when she mentioned possibly lowering prices for a while.

I know a lot of couples have been put in a terrible position because of Covid but Bria and Matt insisting on moving forward with this wedding with all of their baggage, the passing of her father, and Covid is just insane. They got married at Oheka Castle, which is an obscenely expensive hall. A couple from Dancing with the Stars got married there for comparison, they literally sought out the most obnoxious place they could find on the island. City hall or a brief mass would have been a significantly better choice.

I just binged this show, & I'm confused. I thought everyone seemed old for college students, is this a regular university? I 'm just not sure what else it could be.

I looked up the town in Virginia where the two elite girls are from and the specialized deaf school goes until age 21. Maybe it's a common thing in the community to stay at one of these schools and then go onto university?

I'll wait to pass judgement, but my first impression is not good. I mean other than the obvious huge talent roster involved.  The premise just seems weak and silly. Admittedly I never saw the show.  I hope to be proved wrong. Maybe this trailer doesn't do it justice.

It's a fun, sugar coated show that isn't Sondheim but I would have been thoroughly obsessed with as a teenager.

When I saw it I was sitting behind some tourists who felt that the show was "attacking their beliefs and lifestyle," which tells me that this little story about a girl who just wants to go to prom with her girlfriend is very, very necessary.

    Spoiler

I'm interested to see what they do with the romance between Beth Leaval/Meryl Streep's character and the Principal/Keegan Michael Key. It was a nice grounding story in show and it'd be a shame to lose it because of the age difference.

I'd like everyone to know that they replaced This performance by Brooks Ashmanskas for James Corden and it's a damn shame.

"Where on earth" seems a bit harsh.  She's Jewish; Aviel is Hebrew.   She told everyone she doesn't like the nickname, "Gabe," she hears in the USA; she doesn't care what others think.  Perhaps if she tells Bini that the origin of "Gabriel" is also Hebrew he may change his mind.  If she has loved certain "baby names" all her life, it's kind of difficult to ask her to change--especially the day the baby is born.  WHO named Bini's first baby?

Aviel and the nickname Avi are very, very, very common Jewish names. I grew up in the Northeast with several Avi's. My reform Jewish family wouldn't bat an eye at a baby named Avi and a conservative or orthodox family certainly wouldn't either fwiw.

    Dear Jess,

Do your fucking job, and stop worrying about the boys.

    That is all.

Jess is lucky her department had so much turnover because she should not need to be reminded to turn over cabins once guests leave them and to bus a table at this point in the season.

  10. Per the screenshots, Candiace cancelled the podcast on September 21st and the 20 person event was scheduled for October 12th. Monique was relying on Kurn and Candiace to help sell tickets since it's clear nobody is interested in Not for Lazy Moms.

I binged the earlier seasons before this one started, Monique has threatened to get physical from her first talking heads.

Baby Chase is clearly all his father. Monique probably enjoyed her hour or two a week where she got to chit chat with a handsome man and not be mommy for a bit. In my experience, trainers are 75% psychologist, 25% actual exercise information; which is totally fine! She should not have gone out with this gentleman, group or not, assuming any of that is true, IMO. They're all public figures now (uh, hello Michael Darby), and should really be hyper aware of their actions out in public.

Giselle's girls seem like sweet, quiet kids who are just counting down the seconds until the cameras go away. I've never seen kids who seem to disconnected from their father, not a single one of them lights up around him. I hope Giselle's father is around long enough to help them get into good schools and their first jobs because their own dad certainly ain't shit.

  11. Watching Tom unravel at the smallest inconveniences makes me think he really needs a signature dish like Leon's beef cheeks or Kiki's moqueca that he always orders provisions for and can cook with his eyes closed. Something didn't arrive? No problem, just make whatever Goldilocks' not too hot, not too cold signature dish is.

I can't for the life of me figure out who made the first move with Tom and Malia and how it happened.

The Jess/Rob nonsense makes me wonder what was going on with Pete during all of this. His social media makes it look like there's no love lost between him and Malia. Did he get his act together and realize that reality TV fame isn't worth it? Did he get along with Aesha? Is he still talking to Lara/Lana??

  12. I think the ladies tend to go easy on Ashley because let's face it, life came for Ashley before she could walk. She has a mother who chose to live in a tent over her children, a father who shut the door on her face, and a husband who clearly demands that she look and act a certain way in order to provide a certain lifestyle. Ashley's fortunate that she's beautiful and slim because otherwise life could have ended up even more difficult than it already is.

Candiace's mom may be awful but at least Candy could have had med or law school paid for if she'd wanted it.

  13. So Maritime law says that crew members have to disclose medication to the captain, fine. HOW would Malia know if Hannah's valium was or wasn't cleared already?? The CBD pen is sold at bodegas and is legal in Spain.

If Hannah had ever seemed even slightly off due to the "drugs" you know they would have used the footage.

Bosun or not, I highly doubt anyone but the First Mate or Captain has the "right" to dig through a crew member's purse.

Kiko and Hannah's continued friendship makes me think that we've really only seen the bad parts of Hannah on BDMed. I've been rewatching old episodes and it seems that the Chief Stews are damned to be disliked, a comment as simple as "hey don't forget to turn the iron off," gets an over the top reaction from the 3rd stew.

Sandy has been so disappointing, she's routinely blinded by suck ups, remember Kasey? She should have told Malia to stop wasting her time with the cabins and to in her own words, just get through this charter.

She’s an engaging dancer for sure. But she looks kinda big when next to other girls. I wonder if that’ll hurt her.

What I would give to be her brand of kinda big 🤣🤣
