lmao I got called a racist for not liking them despite the fact that at that point I really liked Joe and was warming up to Iris and really liked Eddie and Iris together...

 

But yeah, those reasons for not liking Felicity is kind of sad.

That poll is pretty interesting to watch. Diggle was significantly behind BC yesterday, but got a huge boost overnight and now leads her with several hundred votes. WC almost caught up to BC this morning, but then BC jumped like 500 votes in 5 hours. 

 

But of course in the one comment about the poll being "hinky", only Felicity's lead is mentioned.

The poll is about favorite heroes. not favorite masked heroes. not about the most successful hero/most accomplished hero. So... I don't know why people are annoyed? Felicity is clearly a hero. And people like her. That's it.

People that are annoyed don't think of her as a hero, though. Doesn't matter what they've done on the show; to them, she's tech support and Diggle's just a sidekick. It doesn't help when even the network and producers don't promote non-masked characters as heroes.

I love that Felicity is 1st on that poll. I just voted and she's still no 1 and Oliver is No 2. Don't like that Sara ain't top 5 but Laurel is lol

It's bitter fanboys who are mad cause Felicity is a bigger hero than Laurel. Maybe it's just me but I see Felicity more willing to die for the cause than her to name just one person. I still remember Felicity telling Oliver to let her die and worry about the city in 207.

She also insisted in staying in the foundry during the undertaking despite the fact that she might have been killed. We've seen Felicity be selfless in ways that we've never seen Laurel be. Felicity told Oliver about Thea's parentage even though she thought she'd be risking her relationship with Oliver. She constantly does the right thing instead of the thing that benefits her.

I'm not saying that Laurel doesn't have these qualities, just that the writers have never bothered to show them. The few times we saw were in season one, for example helping Ollie with his court case even though it risked her relationship with Quinton. Sense then it's been self destruction and black canary growth.

Random aside: do we have a fandom thread comparable to the OUaT "Fan is short for fanatic" thread. Because if properly modded that would really help some off topicness in threads. And lately this show has been extremely polarizing within the fandom and is being discussed at length

She's such a hero and a Badass it's sickening that some of these people refuse to see her as a hero. Oliver deeply loves her for reasons like this

If Felicity's  on there, then so should Caitlin, Cisco and Eddie.

Iris hasn't been consistent enough in assisting the crime fighting even if she's better than them all (minus Nyssa)

YES. I agree to a certain extent. Felicity has done a lot more than Caitlin, Cisco to earn that hero status. Eddie deserves to be on there, but I'd wait another season or two to put Caitlin and Cisco on there :) That being said, if this was Arrow season 1 Felicity, I wouldn't put her on that list either. But she's done a hell of a lot since then. 

I don't understand why Nyssa is on that poll though. She's NOT a hero. She's an assassin and has no plans of being a hero.

Yes, because of the 2012-2014 thing...but they've both done enough over the course of the season (starting from the Flash pilot) to help Barry.

And actually, they helped develop the cure IIRC..so even before then.

I'd like to see them on the list next year, but like I said, if this was season 1 of Arrow, I wouldn't really put Felicity on that list either. 

 

Although developing the cure was amazing, I wouldn't really call it heroic?

 

I guess it's just how we define the term 'hero'.

Strange...I would put her on the list for what she did in season 1 actually. 

 

I have a weird way of defining hero. It's just me, nothing personal :) I think, like Oliver, she became a hero in season 2. 

 

This is a rather unpopular opinion but I think there's a difference between being a hero and doing something heroic. If I'm not mistaken, staying behind in the foundry was the first heroic thing Felicity did, but I don't think that made her a hero. I think Felicity staying with the Arrow, continuing taking out the bad guys in season 2, going out into the field, and taking out Slade made her a hero.

Person of Interest beat out Arrow for Favorite Network Drama, Michael Emerson (POI) beat out SA for Favorite TV Drama Actor, and Amy Acker (POI) beat out EBR for Favorite TV Drama Actress.  Person of Interest also won Favorite Crime Drama and Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show...

The POI fandom must have stepped up to the plate.  Usually it's Castle winning the awards at Spoiler TV.
