Yay. 😒 We need even more drama with the wretched NFC East & week 18 in general as much as Jerry Jones & his stupid son (Stephen Jones) needs another Million in their pockets & another Super Bowl appearance. Edited January 1 by Magog Link to comment
JTMacc99 January 2 Share January 2 There is no drama with the NFC East in my opinion. At least no drama with the top two teams. Neither one of them has much of a shot of winning the Super Bowl, so it's a lot of positioning for nothing. The Cowboys will lose at San Francisco should they make it to the NFC championship because they are terrible on the road and clearly not as good as the Niners. And Philadelphia is a mess right now, and it sure doesn't look like they'll be reeling off 4 playoff wins in their current state. The most interesting thing about these two games is where the Giants and Commanders end up in the draft order. Right now they sit 5 and 2. If they both lose, which would be on brand for them, it depends on what happens with Arizona (4) home vs Seattle and New England (3) home vs the Jets. Let's just assume the Patriots beat the Jets. That'll drop them to 5 and move the Giants up to 4. If Seattle chokes against Arizona, which is possible, I think the Cardinals drop to 5, moving the Giants up to 3 and New England to 4. If the draft order ends up being Chicago (from Carolina) Washington NY Giants New England Arizona It'll be one heck of a build up to the draft. Washington and New England kind of have to take a QB. If the Giants like a QB prospect when they're picking, they also kind of have to pick one. The question starts with, does Chicago pick Marvin Harrison Jr and stick with Fields? Link to comment

What's the over/under on the number of drinks I'm going to need to deal with Romo's nonstop jabber? There really wasn't any other game Jim and Tony could've worked. This game is just...blah. It's Packers/Bears so the legacy thing was the only way to go. Atlanta & New Orleans would've been good as they're both in the playoff mix. However, on the other network, if Tampa decides to win another game at the same time, then it's a bad game for the top team to work; TBH, Jim and Tony would've been better off taking the week off. They already took a day off this season, but they do have the Super Bowl this year. Yet another thing to rip the league for. They maintained the Colts Rule. In other words, all divisional games in the so-called Season Finale, for the 14th consecutive season. They frown upon "competitive advantage" but they still gave it to Cincinnati in 2021. It was perfect having sixteen games on Sunday, but they saw some benefit toward moving 2 games to Saturday. Which gives Pittsburgh their 4th short week of the season. IOW, their 3rd Saturday game in 4 weeks (the first one ruined the full 10-day benefit that followed a TNF game). Either way, the 2 Saturday games were the ones to have as a double-header, so that was the right call, but it pretty much took away every meaningful game FOX and CBS could work with. The Bills & Dolphins game, as mentioned a long time ago, is the 272nd game on NBC Link to comment
Calvada January 3 Share January 3 I don't believe the Packers/Bears matchup is a 3:25 game with the #1 CBS crew just because of their historic rivalry. It does mean something - if the Packers win, they make the playoffs. Granted, there are a couple different ways they can make the playoffs without winning on Sunday and they would know that by the time their game kicks off, but each scenario involves at least 3 other teams all losing. So there's the playoffs factor, plus the story line of Love in his first year as a starter possibly making the playoffs, the story line of whether Fields is showing he is the guy for the Bears in the future, and either the Bears keeping their historic rival from making the playoffs or the Packers winning their 10th straight against their historic rival. A $300K fine for David Tepper? That doesn't even qualify as pocket change for a guy like that. 2 Link to comment
Carey January 3 Share January 3 A $300,000 fine for Tepper, would be like someone tossing a penny it into the Point State Park Fountain. Too bad the league lacks a sense of humor to where they could've fined him $300,000.45! Link to comment

Carey January 6 Share January 6 I'll admit I had to smile a little, which came from trying not to laugh. I'm here imagining Mason Rudolph "adopting" bad behavior from the guy that preceded him. To put it better, I'd laugh if Mason maybe grew a beard, a trimmed mustache, dying everything and the hair bleach blond and showed up in the spotlight with sunglasses and some gold. Of course, that only works if Rudolph stays good, becomes great, and is the future of Pittsburgh. Add a Super bowl title and there you go. TBH, I did think of Favre, and despite the awful comments from Aaron, IMO, he's still an angel to Brett. Not sure I'd blame it completely on that given his attitude at the 2005 Draft, but there was no reason to go after Kimmel to that degree. If it's joking, you do that to Mullens. Still not good but if there was ever a case where the success of a defamation lawsuit occurred, we might have it Link to comment
