Bring Sara back! Whoopi would make sure she gets her seat back if Sara wanted it. Besides, Sara was/is a great employee.

I know not everyone likes Barbara Walters, but I hope she doesn't pass away any time soon. I can't even imagine what Joy Behar's reaction on The View would be, considering they were always close friends. She would be torn up. Not that we'd get to hear her reaction anyway, because McCain would interrupt to tell us what a great and dear friend Barbara Walters was to her and her father, and how Walters was the reason McCan't became a pundint (because nepotism had nothing to do with it), the same way she did when talking about Paula Faris' father passing last week despite having had little to no interaction with Faris.

I'm not so sure Meghan would rave about Barbara.  She might pull a Real Time moment and say "I don't know her.  Was before my time.  And my dad died (insert number of days here)"

Barbara is 89 years old, she will die soon. She is planning on it!

Barbara was closest to Joy on the panel but it was a work relationship.  Joy has said as much, at different times.

Sorry Sara but The View ship has sailed. Let's roll the video of her saying the GMADay show was her "dream" job.  If that show was wonderful, no one would be thinking of her back on The View.

Her job should be making her current "dream" show better!

As long as Megan is there, she will not be back. Rumor has it that Megan treated Sarah like dirt and it turned Sarah away.   Megan seems to respect people who she deems to be important. I think that she goes after Joy because she is hated by the right, but, Joy has a lot of power and will flex it if Megan continues to disrespect her.

She had to say it was her dream job or something similar for her reason to leave.  Something else precipitated her departure and it may be as Apprentice 79 said.

I just saw a news story about how Sherri Shepherd lost a bunch of weight on a keto diet.

so she can join a long list of celebrities who lose weight on one plan and praise that plan (she actually "wrote"  a book on dieting the last time) then they gain the weight back, go on a different diet and praise the hell out of that diet, and so on and so on.

The interview with Sherri didn't make mention of her previous diabetes diet book, and how she lost weight on that,  just talked about how in 2018 she decided to lose weight because of something Jeffrey said, and she quit sugar and carbs.  good for her if it worked, but I think celebrities should stop writing diet books until they demonstrate that the diet works long-term.  Or at least, if they are going to talk about losing 30 pounds the second or third time, they should also talk about how they gained it, how the previous diet fell short of their goals.

I am aware that people die, yes. For me, "soon" would be in the next year or so versus half a decade from now. It's not surprising Walters would plan her funeral down to the detail. She was always meticulous..

Absolutely. I remember Joy saying somewhere how Barbara rang her up before season 10 and started screaming at her and threatening her because she had inadvertently let Rosie O'Donnell's name slip somewhere and it was meant to be secret she was joining the show, though everyone knew anyway. She basically told Joy it was to be her last year on The View and she wouldn't be asked back. It certainly sounded like more of a work relationship they had than personal, albeit a bit dysfunctional. I know Joy has also said several times that Barbara was acting "crazy" around those years, and she felt unmoored as Meredith, who was a close friend, had just left around the same time.

Sometimes I wonder if the whole blow up with Rosie hadn't happened and she (Rosie) had wanted to stay, whether Joy would've been let go then as promised. But by the end of season 10 there were only 2 full-time members left on the panel and Barbara probably would've realised that it was important to keep them both for consistency, due to all the upheaval going on. This is speculation on my part, I hasten to add.

Rosie said she wasn't coming back for the next season but would be back to guest co-host and do crafts, before the whole blow up with Bitsy.

And we know how it all ended......

I don't recall her saying that at all when she left the first time. She did say it when she left the second time.

Good grief - MM is not a good analysis nor a bad analysis, because she is not an analysis at all. Can't even try to comment on Cohen because NK more important.

I was riveted yesterday and noticed MM did not tweet about Cohen at all.....then it occurred to me her husband was probably not home yet to work so they could work on her blue cards - NK more important than Cohen, abortion, socialism, highly educated woman, analysis.

Here it is from April 2007, the first time she left. "The View"- Rosie's Farewell Speech (April 2007)

The blow up with Bitsy was in May 2007 and then Ro didn't come back for the rest of the season, which was ending soon.

No, I know that, I was speculating that if Rosie had wanted to stay (meaning had she and ABC worked out their contract issues) and the blowup hadn't happened as well, then what would have happened. I probably didn't express that well, but that was what my head was thinking haha.

Sherri looks great, she really does!

However SHE wrote a book about weight loss

https://www.amazon.com/Plan-Lose-Weight-Beat-Diabetes/dp/B00PWOO2X0

but lost all her weight NOT following her own book. Is that right???

She is thanking these people: Love you ♥️🙏🏾 (for some great #keto mentors who helped me tremendously follow @blackketogirl & @keto365transformation )

Just saw Raven doing a spot for kids on Disney, kind of like a commercial with a message, she and her tv kids went to museum with the name like Lives Forever or something.  Anyways, it was framed social media posts of embarrassing moments and she was telling the kids that online posts stay forever and to talk to the adults around them before posting.  I really liked it.

Sherri Shepherd 2012 weight loss for 2013 book.

(Maybe this belongs in Small Talk, but just last week I started finding and reading articles claiming that the recommended diet for those with diabetes is good for almost everyone).

Good for Sherri, those belly photos document how successful she has been. I hope she keeps traveling the same road and continues to get good results.

But, Sherri lost weight, wrote a book, then gained the weight back, and is now crediting a DIFFERENT diet for her weight loss, the keto diet.

It's frustrating when celebrities  engage in yoyo dieting, and each time, endorse a different plan which gets credit for the weight loss. But especially when they write a BOOK. Obviously, Sherri's book was not the right diet for her. Yet she'll  continue to make money from it.

Sad article about Rosie.  Though most fans of hers who are familiar with her childhood won't be surprised and probably already suspected.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6805719/Rosie-ODonnell-56-reveals-sexually-abused-alcoholic-FATHER.html

My sentiments exactly, but you articulate this better than I would. She had written in her books about "the bad man coming through the window", but what really cemented it for me was when she did an interview with Howard Stern many years ago and they both danced about the idea that her father was her abuser; she explained that he was likely abused and had a horrific childhood as well, but never explicitly said it was him. I could tell Howard got it, too. Those who only remember him from his '90s shock jock would be surprised by how deft of an interviewer he has become.

So much other vague sadness makes sense now, too. Her estrangement from her sister. Her interview on her OWN talk show where her and Mackenzie Phillip's bonded over having childhood traumas but now having estrangement with siblings because, in Rosie's words, "it wasn't only my story to tell". Why her arguments with Whoopi about Bill Coshy upset her in such a way -- the PTSD of "how DARE you accuse a wonderful man, no one will ever believe you" probably echoed very loudly for her during that.

I read a blurb where Jenny McCarthy said she had never experienced a woman yelling at her.  It was Barbara; she said it was very loud.

I am not surprised.

Me either. But that Miss Walters treated Miss McCarthy and others with less courtesy and fairness than they may have deserved, yet  not even ONE of the former employees co-hosts opted out of the Retirement Show in which all participants  genuflected and pretended Miss Walters had always been their bestie and totally fair to them  every moment they knew her was a rather   disappointing ( if not a bit hypocritical) fail, IMO.

Man, that woman just doesn't get it!!!  Sports bra, nice bra or not, it's not meant to be on display!!  LOL.

A sports bra can be worn at the gym. And on a smaller-breasted woman, looks quite appropriate.  Jeffrey  was embarrassed to go on a hike with his mom having her assets on display.  Good for him!  He knows what his peers would think or say.

And Sherri  should think twice about using social media to try to humiliate her son. She's been doing it since he was a toddler,  hes a teen now.

Thanks for putting a finer point on my post.  You are exactly right!!  Sherri doesn't realize that her bust size comes with limitations (PC).
