Sarah Paulson is amazing in The People vs OJ. Did she get nominated for anything?

She won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for it.  :D

And took Marcia Clark to at least one of those as her date, lol.

I'm watching it too. I'm at episode 7 right now. She really is great.

On the other hand, this is the first I've seen of Travolta after years and man does he creep me out.

Awe that's cute.

The episode which focuses on Marcia Clark and the media scrutiny just made me so angry as a woman and so sorry for Marcia. And honestly nothing much has changed. That episode was powerful for me.

That's what I was thinking (but said very poorly).  I really wouldn't have thought Lauren German would have the power to make that kind of demand.  It's not like she's a super well known name, or even the star of the show.

I mean, the way the paps put it, she had threatened to quit the show if they didn't move. The Ken dude said she "threw a bitch fit".

She was shooting on location in Chicago [Fire] and Hawaii [5.0.] right before this, and those shows replaced/got rid of her easy peasy, so maybe she is a pain to work with? I don't discount that, but now my paranoid mind immediately went to what if bad shit happened TO her on set in Van, like crew harassing her or something, and moving to LA would hush it. And that the paps are blaming the victim, because those guys are vermin.

From my snooping,  and yes I ended up snooping because I saw candagraphs tweet.   I think it's very likely she was attacked because of it.   But it also looks like some of the crew came to her defense.

For the record,  I don't think she has the power to lift an entire show to a different country, she's not even the lead.   I think its most likely Fox considered moving production for that tax credit that Supergirl couldn't get and she was an avid supporter of the notion.   Because who wouldn't rather be in the city of angels than cold Vancouver.   And I'm sure the paps are mad that they are losing people to film.

I'm sorry for Lucifer's crew,  but that's about it.

Has that set been a problem where that would be a concern?

Also, why is there a presumption that it was Lauren German that threw a fit? I mean, it could have been Tom Ellis. "Throwing a bitch fit" doesn't necessarily mean it was a female. I hear that phrase used for men and women. Ellis probably would have the power to get the show moved.

I love it when she whips out the spy skills! I know she was more of an analyst but I like to imagine she could kickass physically as well!

Bess is the woman who has the life I would have wanted for Felicity! (Not exact life but you know what I mean! Perfect husband, kids (ok the boy is a bit of a dud), amazing job).

He can still grow out of it, lol.

And Felicity can still have it all, just their version of it.  Just give it time. ;)

Archie will get jealous and then start dating Veronica.

As long as he leaves Betthead alone I don't care. let Valerie and Veronica fight for that drip. Though really I hope he sticks with Valerie and Veronica hooks up with Cheryl lol

This is Us was so good tonight!  Who knew the mailman would get me? And the postcard, I was crying into the Americans.

I just don't know how I'm gonna handle next week. The last 45 secs nearly killed me.

I'm glad Randall forgave Rebecca, although I do think it's gonna take a little longer for the pain to heal.

Beth broke me. Randall grew a pear ;). Those adorable girls know how to throw a fun-eral.

Loving that Kevin did well, although still not feeling the ex-wife.

Toby didn't annoy me. Kate made me sad, what a thing to carry around, even if its inaccurate.

All I know is they set us up for a heartbreaking finale. Might as well stock up on issues now.

I am feeling Sophie, who I'm not feeling is Mandy Moore as older Rebecca. I'm just not connecting to her at all and that's a big miss in scenes like this one.

I was surprised by the mailman, I actually expected him to be delivering something gutwrenching, but this was so sweet and touching. Major thumbs up. It was a nice way of showing how William touched people as was Jesse's story about the kid from NA. I really felt sad for Jesse, and we've barely even seen him. I hope he's ok.

Did the episode end with

Spoiler

Jack getting in the car and driving off

or did my version cut off early?

And it's not obvious who Betty is until like the third episode.  Before that she's too good and perfect and it makes her seem like she was going to get trampled in personality and characterization by Veronica and the other more flashy characters and then they let her start digging into things and boom, there she was.  And now I feel like both girls hold their own and neither are just a on note stereotype.  The adults on the other hand, lol.

(I moved my reply here, before I would get admonished by a mod for being off topic :))

There she was. Yes, exactly. That little 'adjusting her pony tail' before she went into battle? That's when I knew I would love her unto death. Normally I'd be all over Veronica, but one of the reasons I enjoy the show so much is because I like all of the female characters. I have my favourites, obviously, but there not one character that makes me wanna spoon out my eyes. That's rare.

The romance part, however, makes me a little worried. I think I've said it before, but Chlark really, really broke me, shipperwise. And I'm already overly invested in Betty/Jughead (I don't dislike portemanteau-ing, but Betthead/Bughead/Jutty all sounds...juvenile and weird in my non-english speaking ears) and that pairing is ... well, not from the comics*. I suspect you can all identify with my dilemma here ;)

*There's also the entire bit where Jughead is an ace in the comics. So there's that.

I guess I'll check Riverdale out. This Betty/Jughead thing, from all the descriptions, is exactly my jam, and Betty herself sounds awesome.

As for the main character being a dud, I rarely like male leads, so not a big problem.

And yeah Im going to do my utmost best not to get invested in Bughead cause I feel like the Betty/Archie/Veronica thing is like waaaaay to big a thing for them to ignore. I mean I never read the comics but wasnt that kind of the whole point of them? Watching Archie go back and forth between them?

That being said how much have they already deviated from canon? And this is the man who convinced Kevin Williamson not to put Joey Potter with Dawson Leery and who pursued Olicity over the comic canon pairing so Im not counting Bughead out entirely either.

Yeah, I've noticed that the CW has stopped airing promos for the next episode of Supernatural to show that stupid Riverdale ad. I like Riverdale, I do, but the CW could really calm down with the promotion of it. Maybe that'll happen now that it's been renewed?

That IS how mine ended as well. I usually dont mind MM as old Rebecca. I definitely think the It had a lot to do with that particular storyline. I was so mad at the writers for having Rebecca do that. It almost created an Insurmontable situation. Meryl Streep could have done It and I would probably have similar ISsues.

One major Issue I have with Sophie Is that they are making Kevin's move be about her. I appreciated how It felt less cliche when It was about his career. Also the phone call at the end Is going to mess everything up.

The mailman and Jesses stories were so sweet,  but that didnt stop the tears .

Excited we got back Robin in OUAT.

Was nice to see Pinocchio again too. Maybe we'll get him more.

I'm over Rumple & Belle. And now we get them back in focus because of their son. :(

Next week looks like fun with Hook & Charming bro-heroing. I like that duo.

Moved from Mind Your Surroundings

In response to casting news for Searchers is in progress, even though it was previously reported as on hold until Next Pilot Season.

So did I. Especially after I saw that Lost Boys was secretly picked up to Series.

http://www.spoilertv.com/2017/03/the-lost-boys-already-ordered-to-series.html

Maybe there's a chance for both?

I read this and gave a deep mournful sigh. This post wrecked my hopes for more of not one, but two other series that I adore.

Zane Holt being cast in Searchers makes the chances of a s4 of From Dusk til Dawn lower unless filming both series is staggered somehow because I can't see a s4 with no Richie.

Then Rob Thomas' continued devotion to making things that are NOT more Veronica Mars is really bringing me down. Stop it RT. I'm at the point where each additional project he signs on to just drives me insane. For my own selfish needs, I wish he weren't so successful.

Jughead and Betty as a investigative duo work, but I'm not set on a ship of any kind yet, just enjoying the characters at this point. Right now any romance between Betty and Archie seems dead in the water and I am so not having a problem with that. He can date anyone else.  Just glad that

Spoiler

Ms. Grundy is gone.  The age thing really got to me.  So gross.  If Archie had at least been a senior and technically of legal age, then maybe I could have stood it but

the gang is only in the tenth grade.

Veronica just out sparkles everyone in the first couple episodes.  Then Betty starts coming alive along with Jughead and at this point I think I may even grow to like Archie.  Eventually, lol.

Weird question: For those of you who are American do you own electric kettles?

There was an article today claiming that you don't! I'm intrigued!

I know of only one person that owns one and it was given to her by her daughter who thought her mother at 99 shouldn't use the stove any longer.  (Irene still uses her kettle now at 103)  I don't know if I've ever seen an electric kettle/teapot apart from the ones people have that can make ice tea or coffee as well.

A few years ago, before I got the kettle that whistles when it's boiling for the stove (I'm very proud of the silly red thing), I either nuked water in the microwave or boiled it in a regular cooking pot.  I think most people aren't into tea enough for it to be a thing.

Interesting! Our family has a Japanese water pot that gives us constant boiled water at 90 degrees. We love our boiled water!

I think that some of the bottle water providers do offer a hot water option as well.

Do you mean 90 C?  Cause 90 F would be about 8 degrees below body temp, lol.

Any one check out the latest time travel show?  Time After Time, Sundays on ABC.

It's H.G. Wells vs Jack the Ripper from the past in modern day New York.  Just watched the  2 hour pilot.  It's more like Timeless than LoT.  In the Pilot it's pretty much just Wells and Stevenson (Jack the Ripper) traveling from 1893 to 2017 but the trailer for the rest of the season and some stuff in the pilot shows he starts chasing him around in time at least at some point.

I was skeptical from the ads but I actually liked it.  It had a few twists I didn't expect.  It's not redefining the genre or anything but if anyone is missing Timeless, I'd tune in.

Does everyone puree their garbage in the sink or is that something they made up in the movies?

I remember in my childhood home we had a garbage disposal in the sink for food scraps, but it broke early on and was never fixed.  When my brother redid he and his wife's kitchen a few years back, they had one installed ... but it broke after a couple years and was never fixed.  (I assume things that shouldn't have gone into it, went into it, lol)

So yes they exist but I'm really not sure how common they are.  They're not standard everywhere you go.  I don't have one nor do I see a need for one.  I do remember as a child flipping the wrong switch and instead of turning on the light, turning on the very loud, growling garbage disposal and freaking myself out.

Since we are asking questions, do you do your laundry in the kitchen?  How does your refrigerator compare to what you see in Arrow? Also, have you ever bathed in a tub that you bring into the kitchen?  That later one may not be so much an Australian thing, but I saw it in a show once and all I remember was the accent.

I think it's the Brits!

Nah we almost always have a separate laundry big enough for a sink, washer and dryer. Even if it's a tiny apartment it will still most likely have a laundry.

No bathing in kitchens whatsoever.
