Well, this new story is interesting.

The music is bringing me back too. Songs I haven't thought of in ages still sound familiar. I graduated HS in 1999 so right around the ages of these kids.

I like the new story. All the characters are complex and interesting and I am drawn into the mystery.

This music is an absolute blast from the past, hearing Spice World again made me want to sing along. I was nine in 1999 and this soundtrack is like the ghosts of Walkman's past. 

I'm interested in this new mystery, its a bit similar structurally to the first season but with enough differences to keep things interesting. The first summer has the main girl a bit of an awkward loner, the second has her on top of the world until something happens to shatter things at the last minute, and in the third she's wearing a lot of black and everything has gone wrong. The characters are all interesting as well, very intrigued to see where this goes. 

Is Luke really dead, or is something else going on?

I’m curious as to what is up with Isabella’s floppy disk from her bag that was labeled “summer 1998” or something like that.

I love how the transition to bad girl, isn’t complete without dark makeup and piercings. Sweet and innocent = pink and blue, with a soft and low ponytail. I suppose it can be a typical teenage thing, though. 

Did she really say that they have to get their stories straight, in front of everyone?

Yeah, that was pretty freaking stupid.

I am assuming the mystery isn't as obvious as Isabella and/or Megan killing Luke. Although they clearly know what happened or were involved in something shady.

I wondered if the guy shooting the gun, sounded like a big tech guy, was involved.

I totally forgot about Y2K. My cousin was really worried, and mum told her, “do you really think they would let anything like that happen?”

And Megan absolutely CANNOT pull off dark and edgy. It’s ridiculous.

I like it so far. Very similar to the last season in terms of how we know which time period they're in and the girl Megan looks very similar to the girl from last season.

One thing I noticed is that Isabella has an American accent but isn't from America. I think she said she moved from America when she was 6 months old. So why doesn't she have an accent?

Yeah, out of everything, this annoys me the most.  If the show doesn't have Isabella be a con-artist who's really from the US, then that is a HUGE fail on their part.  Even a con-artist would fake an accent....

Megan and him shared a pointed look when Luke's body was being taken out of the lake and in the earlier timeline when her and Luke were at the cabin so yea he is definitely involved somehow.

Which, to me, is the most realistic thing about her edgy look.  Nothing says angry teen like adopting the trappings of being dark and edgy and it sitting on you like cosplay.

Possible explanations for me would include 1) she's lying, 2) she learned to speak when she was still around her parents, who were presumably Americans, 3) she went to boarding school(s) where that was the predominant accent, 4) she watched a lot of American TV, 5) some combination of the above plus she's been around enough diverse speakers and she's skilled enough at accents to "fake" a "normal" American accent. 

So maybe it's nothing or maybe it will be important...?

Didn't Isabella say she moved around a lot?  I'm guessing at least one of her parents is American.  She may have also gone to American schools abroad.

Y2K was such a joke to me. As a software engineer I laughed my butt off about people thinking ludicrous things like planes would fall out of the sky. Why would any of the systems that keep a plane flying need to care about the date? Might need a timestamp for any errors that might occur, but lack of correct date wouldn’t do anything to the control systems. I even had to go in to work on New Year’s Eve to do testing, which was annoying AF because of course absolutely nothing happened. And the line about the guy with the gun being an early employee of Apple and thinking the world would end on Y2K was even more laughable because he should have known better.

Probably showing my age here but I enjoyed the Private Practice reunion with KaDee Strickland and Paul Adelstein.

The show has the look down pat of goth lit.  

I'm intrigued to see what all happens between the Dec 1999 to June 2000 period that led to him dying....and the two former friends having an unholy alliance

But isn't that the point? That a girl like Megan would never be able to project "dark and edgy" successfuly so the show nailed it?

So, why did everyone assume that it was Isabelle in the tape with Luke…..even if Megan seemed upset with her, who’s to the say the video of them wasn’t made BEFORE Luke dated Megan, back when he was dating Isabelle?  And, why was Isabelle and Luke  looking so guilty? Didn’t they know who it was?   The video could have been from earlier. Why not scream out to Megan, that’s an old video?
