Spartan Girl July 14, 2022 Share July 14, 2022 The costumes look like ass and they’re acting completely OOC. I knew we shouldn’t trust Rob Zombie. 2 Link to comment

starri July 16, 2022 Author Share July 16, 2022 I feel like it would at least look less cheap in black and white. Unfortunately, that wouldn't do much for Sheri Moon Zombie's terrible acting/attempt to mimic Elvira. Cassandra Peterson is apparently in it, although playing a character, not as Elvira. 3 Link to comment

Gharlane July 17, 2022 Share July 17, 2022 What little interest I had evaporated as soon as I saw Rob Zombie's name. That said, the trailer looks so bad it might be good. 🤷♂️ Link to comment

krankydoodle July 17, 2022 Share July 17, 2022 I'm having trouble believing that's an official trailer. It looks fan-made. They should've just let Bryan Fuller have another go. 3 Link to comment

supposebly July 19, 2022 Share July 19, 2022 The original was charming and sweet. This looks gross. 5 Link to comment
starri July 19, 2022 Author Share July 19, 2022 I mean, the joke was that they were monsters who were just a loving family who thought they were normal. This basically throws all of that out the window. And it still looks so cheap. 6 Link to comment
WendyCR72 July 19, 2022 Share July 19, 2022 This looks so bad. Like, Tim Burton Dark Shadows level of bad... 3 Link to comment
MissAlmond July 19, 2022 Share July 19, 2022 IMO The Munsters saw themselves as what was thought of at time: a typical, middle class suburban family. The trailer makes them lean more towards The Addams family. 1 2 Link to comment
xaxat July 19, 2022 Share July 19, 2022 I don't understand hiring Zombie to helm a movie with a nostalgic look about a goofy, sixties, family comedy. 1 Link to comment
Spartan Girl July 19, 2022 Share July 19, 2022 (edited) Every time I see a tweet accusing all the people that hate the trailer of “not getting” the original show’s humor and stile, my teeth crack. You like the trailer, that’s fine. But don’t accuse us of “not getting” the original show. We got it. We just feel like this movie seems to be a cheap parody of what the show really was. The actors playing Herman and Lily feel exaggerated; this Lily puts on a fussy simpering demeanor that Yvonne DeCarlo never had, and this Herman can’t even get the laugh right! And Herman did NOT do that weird little shimmy after breaking the door in the opening theme, it only looked like he was shaking because he was guffawing. The guy doing Grandpa is slightly better, but it’s ruined by the fact that the movie is going to have him attempt to break up Lily and Herman while they’re still dating. Really, Rob Zombie? Of all the directions you could have taken, you’re doing the trite old “disapproving father” plot that’s been done only a billion times before? Sure, Grandpa thought Herman was a bozo, but never in a “you’re not good enough for my daughter” way. In fact, they got along pretty well. Edited July 20, 2022 by Spartan Girl 1 5 Link to comment
