I realize that the American version is better because there's more at stake.

I did like the idea of a weekly dinner party, just to see how everyone was doing.  The experts are all MIA on the US version.

I liked the idea of Cathy wearing skimpy outfits.  Why do we all think that they should ONLY be worn by size 00 people?  Who created that idea?

The problem with the mermaid outfit wasn't Cathy's weight, it was her size.  She looks short and that style only works on a tall person.

Cathy and Poppy looked like stuffed in sausage casings. It's about dressing to look your best. At a certain size or body shape, some types of clothes or sizes won't work for you. This has nothing to do with fat shaming or anything like that. I'm a guy that's strongly attracted to Cathy. That outfit also was not working.

For one, who cares if Michael and Stacey have a fake relationship?

Here's my take.  I believe that Stacey probably did sleep with Mikey.  But when it happened Mikey and Natasha were off the show.  They probably asked the producers if she could come back or something, and the producers told them to wait until the tell all.  I mean what person would wait MONTHS with that information?  To me , Mikey looked like a pre-pubescent boy last night, running to get his phone, really?

I feel Natasha and Mikey did this because they wanted to look good.  The last time they were on the show, Mikey was known as a "two second man" and Natasha was the witch who told everybody about him.

The bolded especially! I'm beyond tired of everyone's bizarre, adolescent obsession with "taking down Michael and Stacey" or "exposing their lies." Everyone knows they're fake, gossipy, smug blowhards - and? You just roll your eyes and move on. Haley and Natasha care far more about Stacey and Michael's image than they do. You can't "expose" people who embrace being terrible. Haley and especially Natasha's little morality/personality campaigns against them landed like a wet fart in the wind and were frankly embarrassing. They just want attention from the group so they're designating themselves leader of an imaginary moral crusade no one asked for. "Stacey and Michael are fake liars who aren't taking their pretend marriage seriously!!!" No shit!!

I thought Natasha was full of horseshit, especially with her jab that Stacey "wanted to know what it was like when I said my man only lasted 20 seconds." Uhh, if I remember correctly, that joke was what drove him away. So, Natasha can be upset that Mikey fucked Stacey because that's not him being a "supportive friend" (wtf does that even mean?) but she's allowed to indefinitely mock his sexual performance? These people have interesting definitions of friendship. "We're such great friends! As you know, that means I can ignore you and dictate every aspect of your behavior while also making you feel ashamed for craving the tiniest shred of human contact." Trash. Haley and Natasha threw Mikey under the bus for their own agenda. For all the talk of Stacey being on a high horse, how many times have we been subjected to Haley's obnoxious, self-righteous monologues?

So Seb/Lizzie is the only happy couple left standing out of 12? Yikes.

Well, I'm not into Gingers, but dang if I don't  envy Lizzie! Sebastian seems truly decent, kind, and genuine. And in love.

Michael is back to being a mayja playa, oy, oy, oy!

Crikey, Stacey lost her future in Laboutins!

G'day, Steve.

All the rest were just more shrimps on the barbie.

I'll  stop now.

I think maybe there'd be less cheating, fewer accusations, and less dinnertime turmoil were the Australian  version more like the US version.

But nonetheless,  I thoroughly  enjoyed this show, and would like more, please!

Yes to Lizzie!!  Yes to Sebastian!!  Kindness begets kindness!  (In this time of 'The Plague,' (see Albert Camus!), it was genuinely uplifting to see such tenderness, gentleness, affection, understanding and true graciousness shared by two decent people.

TRUE!  But the biggest obstacle in Australian casting would appear to be finding prospects who haven't been 'nipped and tucked,' with lips like the 'puckered up' pufferfish.  Am I alone in thinking that these couples are screened thru Aussie "8 X 10 Central Casting?"  Pros prowling for stardom?  ☹️

  • Love 8

As much as mushy gushy "look how in love we are" couples annoy me (Lizzie, enough with the endless couch nuzzling! People are talking to you - he's not going off to war!), I am eternally impressed by Seb's kindness and the fact that he was gracious enough to step out of that bubble for a second to voice encouragement for the rest of the cast as individuals rather than just gloating about their relationship and rubbing their success in everyone's faces. You know the outcome of your show is bad when part of the only remaining couple cries out of guilt that he's still happy. lol. What a sweet man.

Not sure why they bothered dragging the early couples back for the second day if they weren't going to bother talking to them. Also not sure why we wasted interviews on re-litigating the Haley/David toothbrush incident or another self-empowerment tongue bath for Connie or Aleks/Ivan fakery when we never even found out what happened with Kacey/Drew. Poor Amanda was crying the whole time, it looks like the disappointment of the experience is still having a very negative impact on her.

Johnny cheering for "mum and dad" during Steve/Mishel's wedding tape was cute and the only time I've liked him in months.

Michael/Kacey hooking up and moving in together after filming is hilarious to me because of how obviously threatened Stacey was by her. Not surprised it sounds like he fucked things up with her too and went back to sleeping around. He'll never give up partying.

I appreciated that Michael finally called out the obvious, uncomfortable flirting between Michelle Collins (after show host) and Johnny. And she was drooling all over Seb this segment too! Michelle babe, stop trying to make this about you. She needs to stop hitting on dudes she's meant to be interviewing.

I was surprised to hear them talk about PR events and getting recognized and even stalkers because I don't think of MAFS US folks as "reality stars" beyond grabbing maybe 50-100k Instagram followers and getting recycled into spinoffs if they make it. Is this a Love Island situation where the show is huge in Australia or something?

Yeah, I really had seen enough of Michael and Stacey and just a quick look at where they are now would have been enough for me.  No update on what poor little pucker-face wife Stacey has done since the breakup.  Awww...

Did not need to see Haley marching around with a shirt on with no pants either - gee, girl, do you really have to show all that every time?

Glad Connie feels so happy with herself now, but, gee, how many times do we have to hear about how she discovered love for herself.

Would have liked to have heard something from the other couples, or why even have them there? And watching the scenes with the couples meeting up for the first time again? why? we've seen that enough already. Made no sense to me at all.

Not at all impressed by these experts either.

Don't know if i would even bother with another season of this.

agreed.  was not much to enjoy about this episode, especially with all the commercials pretty much telling you all you needed to know about Michel's decision.  liv and seb, could care less.  her overly pumped up lips are so distracting and, gee, could we have any more shots of sheb with his shirt off?  i don't see them lasting, but what do i know.  i will watch the final dinner because i have suffered thru it this far, but i can't say that i care about any of these mostly shallow people.

As of now, I am totally confused if it’s over, another dinner party, or the final party.  I don’t know if it’s over or what the hell.  I just keep seeing the same stuff over and over in between the million commercials.  They are really milking it.

I think any woman who hooks up with Michael is an idiot.  He's a boy, a player who won't change until he wants to.

Mikey is a jerk and looked like one in those ripped jeans.  He's a boy too.  Someone needs to tell him that there are some secrets you take to the grave and if you say shit like that about the wrong person's girlfriend...well the saying "snitches get stitches" might not be just a saying.

I didn't watch the whole thing.  Is Amanda the one with the acne?  She wasn't even at the dinner.

Ivan and Alekes were just in this for fame (notice Alekes is a blonde now).  They'll probably be pitching an Australian version of "Love it or List It."

Hayley looks like an ex con from "Love After Lockup."

The experts were crap.

If Connie really had confidence, she would have told Johnny to take a hike weeks ago.

If a few weeks with Steve was all it took for Mishel to no longer feel sexy, maybe she never really felt sexy at all.  If it was THAT bad, why didn't Mishel leave like Poppy?

The show seemed to go on forever. I think it premiered at the end of May. I really liked it at first but as time went on, it became too reality tvish.
I thought Jon was initially into Connie but she complained about him being on his phone too much and then there was the thumbs up text and argument. She was nagging him a bit early on and he checked out.

Steve and Mishel seemed to get on good at first and have fun. I think when he told her on the beach that he wasn’t attracted to her she should have been done. He was honest and it sucked to hear that but she went on and on and on about it. And it was as though she wanted him to mention her weight. I guess to make him seem like more of a jerk. I liked her, she seems like fun but why waste time on a poor match?

I had been rooting for Cathy and Josh. They seemed really into each other at first. Surprised it ended so abruptly.

Is the pretty second bride older than the cricket player?

When Melissa said the words "and becoming your wife," Nick's mouth became a grimace of gritted teeth. I re-wound to make sure I saw that micro-expression clearly. 😒

So far he's all phony, complete with altar theatrics, like Zach (Mindy).

This is bullshit.  Has to be scripted .. fighting at the weddings and threatening.  Much different than Americans.  Plus, we can’t even understand what they are saying half the time.  Crazy.

I switch to Closed Captioning but even they can't make out what is said sometimes. The word 'inaudible' appears frequently.  I wish someone could make a list of Aussie expressions and their meanings.

Yep, hard to understand.  Last time I watched, I wasn’t thrilled with them, but it heated up and I got used to them then couldn’t stop watching.  Takes awhile to get hooked.  Nothing else on anyhow.  Except Netflix.

Do you mean Dino? Nick married the gal with all those siblings...name is Chytell or something similar. Dino is meditation guy.

  • Love 1

Mel is exhausting and acts like a sitcom character. Initially thought she and Dino were a horrid match, but he seems equally spacey.

Cyrell seems like a spoiled drama queen. That family dinner was like a Real Housewives scene. The fact that she dissolves into sobs instantaneously does not bode well for her ability to handle conflict. I feel bad for her groom, who just seems to want peace and quiet after everything he's gone through. You know it's bad when you have to do the cancer reveal just to get her brother off your back. And Cyrell's giggly, shit-eating "What did you do?" routine with Ivan post-confrontation tells me she gets off on pitting him against her boyfriends. Hard pass.

And Jessika's brother too. I guess douchebag brothers are a thing this season. When a brother is that overprotective, it almost feels incestuous. Best man was also a colossal asshole who obviously told the Viagra story to stir shit - I would've asked him to leave after that. No friend would get that much joy torpedoing your first impression in front of stranger in-laws. The story was also hard to follow and upon first listen, I thought he was drunkenly humping the sleeping bag. Given that he's a sheep farmer, I was surprised the story didn't veer into bestiality. He sounds like another 30 -year-old frat boy. To Jessika's credit, I was pleasantly surprised an alleged Instagram girl (gag) became so smitten with his sense of humor that she immediately overlooked him not being her type, especially when her bridesmaids basically put down his looks to his face.

So, I was a bit confused. Was this just a big old lie told by the best man? I thought Mick told Jessika it wasn't true. Jessika's bridesmaid should have kept her comment about Mick's looks to herself. I happen to think Mick is nice- looking and Jessika isn't as gorgeous as she thinks she is.

Best Man probably made up what he thought was a funny story. IMO.

Of Cyrillic and Nick...did I hear correctly that he had testicular cancer that began in his stomach? I thought they both wanted a family. I hope this works out for them.

Oh gosh here we go again with the opposites attract theme again with Melissa and Dino. I really think she might be a bit much for him and it didn’t look like a good match when they both went to sleep on their backs (on the wedding night...no kiss?).

yeah, that might be a difficult situation with Nick and Cyrill, but they seem to fit, so maybe they can adopt if he can't father children. i like them together, so i  hope so

and with Melissa and Dino, we didn't even get to see any of their reception either, not that it would have been anything but cringeworthy. also, it seemed to me that she didn't even shower or wash her hair before the ceremony, so that may have put old dino off the wedding night

But where?  My Lifetime listing is only showing the US version.  What night and what time is it on?

I think Thursday. It’s the day after the US version where I live. You can download the Lifetime app. That’s where I watched it for free. Then they offered “interactive” commercials so I tried it. One (which otherwise would have been 3 minutes)  was pared down to 15 seconds. They only interaction was once they gave me a choice of 3 smiley faces to ask what I thought of the ad. I was spared a lot of time.

I finally searched on TvGuide.com.  It says no showings on my cable system in the next 14 days.

O.k.  Here in New York, it’s on Thursdays 9 pm.  You might be confused as it says “Married at First Sight”.  At first I thought it was the U.S. one, but it’s the Australia one.  It should say “Married at First Sight Australia”.  I just looked on my tv for this Thursday and it says “Married at First Sight Australia” Season 6,  Episode 3 & 4.   I just saw it’s on Demand and you can watch last weeks episodes 1 and 2.

Yes, it said that last week.  This coming week it says Married at first sight Australia.  Last weeks episode 1 and 2 are now on demand.   P.s.  I have “Optimum” Cable on Long Island, New York.   It might be different in other States and different Cable sources.  I don’t know.

I have philo. I have the Australian version set on dvd but it never tells me it's recording and it's never listed as new like every other new recording. But, when I click on the show, the new episodes are  recorded. I honestly think it's because technically it's not new. We are getting it after it already aired somewhere else. I don't know. But, it does not operate like other shows I record for some reason.

All I could think was hot mess. Oversleeping on her wedding day and then having to pull over on the freeway bc she might have forgotten her dress? Oof.....but then he rolled up on a horse and he’s a total weirdo so maybe they might be ok? That last shot where they both looked like they were stiffly laying on their backs pretending to sleep doesn’t look too promising though.

A lot of asshole brothers on this version. Cyrell’s brother sure looked like a tool after mocking her groom for being sick before he knew it was cancer....

But the biggest asshole award goes to the best man with the viagra story - who does that? I would have stood up and ripped the microphone out of his hand.

Best part of the episode was the silent disco. It seemed like something out of a movie when everyone else got up and joined them, but how fun! She looks like Bryce Dallas Howard to me.

I like how this just went from “experts” matching straight to the weddings without four episodes to get to the weddings. I liked the variety of venues for the weddings too. Kind of surprised princess-y Jessica got married in a field.....

Is it me, or do the wedding dresses on these Australian brides look like they fit way better than their American counterparts?

  • Love 11

They have better wedding dresses and nicer venues in this one. These look like real weddings and not quickie ceremonies in Vegas like the American ones do. The last couple Melissa and Dino seemed mismatched but you never know. My biggest thing is matching a farmer who spends his day with animals with someone who lives in a city and models part time. How is that going to work? Not everyone wants to live on a farm or tend animals, it would be a nightmare for me.
