  1. I will preface this comment by saying that I’m on my way to the prayer closet. Pumpkin pie and wine by my side.

If a Duggar bride is on her period for her wedding night, the “experience” may actually be more comfortable. I have no confidence that any of these grooms ensure that the women are “ready” before  they start.

  2. Churchhoney, you are right at always. The Duggars are no longer 2 adults with 19 children. Over half of the children could be working either full or part time (Jed and Jeb are teens old enough to work part time). The family would be fine if everyone who could work was, in fact, working! Maybe the planes would have to be sold and no more McMansions, but seriously, this family is not destitute.

  3. The baby is cute.

The scenario that makes the most sense is a home birth (possibly precipitous?) followed by postpartum complications. Maybe uncontrolled postpartum hemorrhage or significant repair requiring surgery. Hopefully baby was sent in the ambulance with Jessa.

My hope is another Duggar daughter birth with complications will slow these young women (and men) down. Seriously their mom was an aberration. Most women cannot safely give birth every 18 months for 25 years. We are not made for that.

  4. It is clear from Amy's not so subtle plea for gifts and money that grandma Duggar and Deanna are grifters just like Jim Bob. If they had any class, they would have shut Amy down.

Now I understand that Amy is probably as emotionally immature as her Duggar cousins. It is going to be hard for her to see everything that Jill and Jessa received and not be jealous. But come on! Did the Duggars really believe that every wedding/baby was going to result in tens of thousands of dollars in gifts?

This whole family needs to go away for a very long time.

  5. Derrick's recent post makes my blood boil. They have shown their true colors when he uses phrases like "white, blue eyed baby". Really? You smug a**hole. He now rivals Josh in his smugness.

Why don't they use their own money and provide some actual care?

  6. Ok. I'm just going to say it. Derick is a damn fool if he quit his job to become part of the TLC crazy train full time. (If he quit to take another similar job, that is something complete different.)

How can he think this is a good plan for his family's future? I'm not convinced that an accounting degree with only 1 year will be that marketable 5 years from now if he thinks he wants to go back,

I have empathy for Jill regarding her abuse during childhood. But if she had any common sense, she would not bring Derick down like this. If I was his mom, I would be so disappointed.

  7. As obnoxious as I find Jill and Derick to be, I believe they are the couple that can most easily move into a variety of social circles. Derick has his work and it appears that they attend a legitimate church.

Maybe they will slowly break away from the family. Unlikely, I know, but would be great for their child(ren).

  8. I absolutely agree that Marjorie's parents should consider the long term ramifications of a marriage to Josiah. Child sexual abuse does not occur in a vacuum. Even if Josiah was not a victim, he lived in that home during and after the abuse. He is also quite close to Josh.

If I was Marjorie's mom, I would stipulate that Josiah needs professional counseling and needs to get out of that home ASAP. Marjorie is only 17(!), she is still a minor and her parents are in charge. Can you imagine 2 years from now if nothing changes? Marjorie is married to Josiah and has a baby with him. And uncle Josh is still around.

  9. Mods- I apologize in sdvance if this is the wrong thread for this.

If those of us who have been following the Duggars for years have heard the rumors of "sin in the camp", why is the full story only coming out now in the media?

This family has been all over the TV, magazine covers and social media for the last few years. It's just so strange that it was hidden.

    Those poor kids....

  10. I completely agree that Josh was a nice looking teenager. The polo shirts were a bit dorky but really he was cute and relatively well spoken compared to some if the younger kids.

I think that's what makes his change in appearance in the last 5 years even more concerning. If 3 children and working a "regular" job made him so unhealthy, Anna needs to reconsider her childbearing plan. He looks older than most of the men in my peer group (all in their 30s and 40s).

  11. If Jill if still pregnant, I'm guessing she's starting to panic a little. If she did have an early 1st trimester ultrasound and the due date was 3/24, she's getting really close to an induction. I hope for the baby's sake that the birth goes well but Jill may be starting to realize that even though she got pregnant quickly, she may not have easy births.

  12. I'm sure Josh is pissed that his sisters (especially Jilly Muffin) are getting all the attention. He got so much of the screen time for so long and now he has been pushed to the side. Anna will need to come up with some pregnancy drama if they want to gain a little bit of that attention back. I love their kids but could not care less about Josh and Anna.

  13. If Jill is planning on babies every 18 months like her mom, she needs to watch her weight gain/exercise routine closely. She is so young right now but her body will most certainly be much older if she's not careful.

Pregnancy does take a toll on the body. I miss my pre-baby tummy and hips. Thankfully I had my twenties to enjoy it!

  14. I think a lot of this discussion about the children's education is speculation because the show hasn't given the viewers the real story. At one time, it showed Michelle at the table teaching the kids but I would like to know what happens now.

For example, what is a typical day like for the howlers? Do they work on a variety of subjects everyday? Is an adult working with them or are they on their own at the computer?

  15. With 19 children and a self absorbed personality, does anyone think that Michelle has specific memories about each child? Maybe Josie since she's the last one but all her others came one right after the other. She probably doesn't see any of them as individuals.
