I don't care if people share my political beliefs--have friends across the political spectrum. What I do care about is people weaponizing those beliefs and then having the hypocrisy to not own them. I think people have every right to be a hateful asshole--just as other people have every right to call them out for it and boycott them for it and businesses have the right to terminate agreements with them over it.

It's a two-way street, and I don't have much patience for anyone (regardless of beliefs) who wants all the benefits of having a platform but can't handle the heat that comes with it. Don't want people boycotting you because of your politics? Keep your thoughts to yourself. Don't want people contacting the companies you partner with to point out that you are a hateful asshole? Don't try to obfuscate your beliefs and don't partner with companies that don't share your values.

I do blame the companies for not doing better research, but I don't see Jinger and Jeremy as innocent victims here. If they really wanted to, they could disown the hateful ideology they and their families have spouted off. But they won't because they buy in. They just don't want anyone else to know when it affects their bottom line. I have zero sympathy for that.

I agree 100% with your thoughtful post. I think there ought to be a special place in hell for people that hijack religion to justify their prejudices and hate.

If Ben's few Tweets are any indication, I'm guessing he home churches. He thinks very highly of his theological knowledge.

Do home churches get tax exempt status, like regular churches?

Indeed I am, though if you want to get technical I bought in Saline. I still tell people A2, though.

I went to school in Dexter, spent a year and a half at MSU and hated it, and transferred back home to finish out at UM. Now I technically live in Saline but work in A2.

    Small world for sure!

I went to Michigan, so did my husband, daughter and grandfather. I also love Zingermans, nice to see fellow Michiganders.

This group of people have a lot of nerve going to a country like Greece and attempting to 'change' them in to Christians, which they already ARE. Why do they continually pick on Christian religions? If they want to convert anyone, why don't they concentrate on faiths that are not Christian or don't claim to be Christian? They also have the nerve to go sightseeing in this beautifully historic and RELIGIOUS nation and enjoy what their culture has to offer? I'm sure they enjoyed the ancient architecture there and beautiful scenery not to mention their great food. These are the things that make the Greeks GREEK, which, of course, is the culture, which this little idiot says they're wrongly 'steeped in'.

Does this make any sense to you? Not to me. What is even more sad is that this little immature girl picked up this attitude from most likely a fully grown adult.

What’s truly ironic is that the Orthodox Church identifies themselves as the original church founded by Christ. The Catholic Church split from them in the 11th century. The service is beautiful, however many churches in the US are held in their native languages. I’m Serbian Orthodox, so half of the service is in Serbian, making it difficult for the non-Serb to follow.

What a funny coincidence that Daddy's Favorite Pumpkin Pie recipe is the exact same one word for word as that on the back of a can of Libby's canned pumpkin.

And her pie crust recipe is lifted from the Crisco can.

This is Mommy Rabbittron and I remember when I gave birth to my last kid after I saw her the first thing that I said was I gave birth to a alien.

My daughter looked she had an Elvis wig, complete with sideburns at birth!  Then she started to bald...well at 22 years now, she’s gorgeous.

  7. I work as a paralegal in a large law firm that hires the top graduates mostly from the top tier schools. The life of an associate is not pretty: a lot of grunt work with lots of week endsand late nights hoping to make partner in 6-7 years. Then they have to buy into the firm similar to a mortgage. It’s a tough go and a life I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Derick could find a niche with his accounting degree combined with a law degree.

  8. Since I'm old and can usually recognize around 15% of the "stars" I fast forward through all the interview blurbs and the predictable judges comments. I just enjoy watching good dance. Naturally I'm disappointed that Normani didn't win, but Rashad was a good choice. David was just no.

  9. Wok Chop: i too found breaking into paralegal jobs very difficult. I took a clerical position at a large firm and worked my way up. My best advice (including all the other posters) is to become tech savvy. Law firms desperately need people that know electronic discovery; also firm wide docketing systems. Other growing areas are IP. Keep trying to get your foot in the door. Hard work is rewarded and best of luck!

  10. I watched plenty of reality of TV - I'm not embarrassed to say so. I'm already getting sucked into some British reality TV shows here. And yeah, plenty of BBC/PBS is reality TV with costumes and better writing, but it's who is decent, who isn't. Who slept with whom, who betrayed this person. Who had a baby, who can't. I have degrees in this stuff! ;)

AND Downton Abbey starts in October in Britain.

  11. I thought minimizing the events was just irresponsible. Shame on them all.

If the girls really wanted to help this world, they could have discussed how to help other victims, including how to talk to your parents, how to get help, dealing with the conflicting feelings, etc. An interview/discussion like that would have helped their image so much more than the garbage they expected me to believe.

  12. This is probably crazy but is it possible that JD leaked the story? IIRC he has some sort of low position in law enforcement, but he could have had access to the records. Plus, he doesn't live at the TTH, but his living arrangements are mysterious. I always thought he was a doofus, but he didn't seem unkind. He also never seemed close to Josh either.

  13. Jellybeans ~ all I can offer is ff hugs. I have lost both parents within months of each other, and then my 2 oldest sisters passed away within a few years of each other. I know that pain. I have no human children (only Westies) so I can not imagine what pain you are going through. Please know you have an entire cyber community behind you, including me. Hugs!

Omg. I have 3 westies! Aren't they the best?
