I love this show. Watched from season one. The changes seem ok for now but it’s all a bit all over the place. Anyway, no one annoys me yet but I am heartily sick of CBS casting professional reality show contestants. Are there not enough people applying?

Do they still have the dumb rule that a team can only apply once?

I wish the first leg was NEL. It would give the racers more time to get their feet wet and not be such a shitty ending for the first team eliminated.

I'm watching an ATK marathon on Create and the episode with the French-style scrambled eggs just ended. I'm sorry but those look awful. I know they say they're fully cooked but they look raw to me. There's no way in hell that I'd be able to eat those. Just looking at the finished product makes me gag.

I hate scrambled eggs but the whole time I kept wondering when they were going to add the butter!

I knew something bad was going to happen as soon as Jenn reminded us that this was the episode before the season finale and that this episode seems to be building up to a twist, but instead of a red Hulk or a major character death, we get the Intelligencia trolls being the absolute fucking worst. Did I hear them say that Jenn "stole" the Hulks powers? Seriously? What a pack of assholes, they are just so disgusted by the very idea of a woman living her best life and daring to have consensual sex that they would do all of this to her? This is going to be rough going forward, but I hope that Jenn goes all She-Hulk smash on every single one of those assholes, especially Josh, the biggest monster in the entire MCU. These pathetic trolls deserve to be called out as the scum they are and to get the biggest comeuppance they can.

I was scrolling through the She-Hulk hashtag on Twitter, and the hit dogs are already hollering. They're whining about how the episode (and show of course) is an attack on men/reddit/4chan, blah blah blah and they can't wait for a show that's so unrealistic and hateful to be cancelled.  Personally, I find the show to be hilarious.

I don't watch every Marvel show because I don't like every Marvel hero, and some of the on-screen violence is a turn off but I have liked what I've watched.  If I don't like it, I stop and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

My UO Harry Potter opinion: I liked that Harry and Ginny ended up together. The movies didn’t give them or Ginny’s character a fair shot. You can accuse her of being a Cool Girl Trope but I loved the fact that she turned out not to be the shy little wallflower that she was around Harry in the first four books.

There is an artist on Tumblr who really sells Hinny. Her account is blvnk-art.

I loved BookGinny and the movies really removed the shine from her character.

  5. I'm currently watching a sageuk, Moonshine, on Viki. It takes place during a prohibition period and the female lead turns to moonshining to pay off her brother's debt (those brothers never change, do they?) and takes in a lodger who turns out to be one of the King's prohibition enforcers. She also runs afoul of the local bootleggers and gangsters in the process. I'm really enjoying it!

I’m convinced Paul and Prue factored in  Giuseppe’s performance the whole season. Which seems to be different from the judging for prior finals.

I agree. All 3 bakers had enough mistakes that made a clear winner impossible so they went with the overall performance for the whole season. If Guisseppe had made the carrot cake in three layers, or didn't burn the rolls it would have been easier, or had Chiggs finished his Cheshire Cat cake, or Crystelle baked the bread correctly we would likely have seen a different winner.

The signature was ridiculous. Why ruin carrot cake by making it taste like something other than carrot cake?!

The Where Are They Now made me worry that Gusieppe's dad died. I was very happy to see that was not the case.

  7. I was never an Otis/Maeve fan. I don't think the show would have missed anything by having them just be friends and the voice of reason whenever the other one fucked up, which is all the time. I really wanted to see where the Ruby relationship could have gone.

So Jakob is apparent Not The Father. Yikes. I hope they don't do that thing where he says he'll raise the baby. Poor Ola.

I'm glad that Eric and Adam broke up. Their whole history was toxic. Maybe next season we'll see some movement in the relationship between Adam and his dad.

  8. I just discovered the previous MC seasons on Hulu. I can't believe the items that the S1 contestants both have to choose and the choices they make when doing the Invention Test. You have to choose between mushrooms, mandarin oranges, and duck, so you choose the oranges as the star of your dish? Or the super dumb. one - honey, berries, and vanilla so you choose vanilla as your star?

  9. I thought that Chetna had made a babka, and that Paul had even made one for Masterclass, maybe a holiday epsiode.

I googled it and Benjamina and maybe Ravi made one on their season, and Chetna's signature bake was close to a babka and turned out to be similar to the technical challenge.

Everyone kept saying they'd never heard of a babka. Do they not watch previous seasons or are they not supposed to reference them too specifically?

Well I think it's also that the Rose's themselves are changing.  They assumed the town was shitty--pun intended--because it wasn't their palatial city home in the thick of high society.  Perhaps Schitt's creek has always been charming and progressive and they are just able to appreciate it now.

Also, David and Patrick are perfectly matched.  Patrick is not perfect...he can be sarcastic, and his little hairy mustache is not great. He didn't share with David that he was previously engaged to a girl or share with his parents that he was involved with a guy for well over a year.    Of course he's freaking adorable because he's so sweet and loves David so much, but their relationship seems very yin/yang to me and I LOVE IT.

    I think David/Dan is yummmyyyyy

Patrick should always be clean-shaven. I hate his facial hair.

What happened with the really cute apartment Alexis and David found back in season 1 or 2?

Nobody wants to live in Carl's apartment. It's probably haunted.

Ironically, this mini doc made a big issue out of something the show itself tried not to make an issue at all. I get it, the importance of the impact this show had on the LGBTQ community, but it was just weird they spent so much time on this issue when the show tried to make it a non-issue.

I finally took the time to watch Season 6 after a complete rewatch of the series, and then I watched the Farewell doc, so this is pretty fresh.

I think the emphasis was because of the impact it had on the LGBTQ community.  Yes, it was not an issue on the show, but that's what made it so important and gave it the biggest impact.

I'm a POC, and sometimes it's SO HARD to find media that features people like me, without it somehow turning into an 'issue' movie, book, TV show, or whatever. I know that there is a lot more than there used to be, but there are still a lot of 'struggle stories', which is what one of the people speaking in the doc brought up. It's so exhausting to only see portrayals of yourself/your culture as something strewn with roadblocks you need to overcome on the off chance you might be able to live a happy, fulfilled life.

It was a little weird that Chris Elliot was hardly mentioned - I just remember one of the blooper scenes he was in.  I wonder what the viewer feedback was on his role through the seasons, because his character was so gross in the first season, and got better, but was still an annoyance. His portrayal could have been toned down a lot.

  13. Chiming in late to agree with all the other non-coordinated people. My depth perception is practically non-existent and I can't see 3D. The only time I played a family game of softball, I somehow got hit in the face with the ball. I'm totally a David: just here for the food.

I just realized that in the scene with Patrick and David in the store,  there's a guy that looks like Antonio scoping out the merchandise in the background and then just leaving,  that's clever.

I just watched it, and it IS Antonio!

  15. David eats out of the garbage, and in front of Patrick! I need to know what he ate last night.

Fun Ted! Also loved Stevie and David, "He could get it" expressions.

When the baby was being dropped off, Moira was quietly making peekaboo faces at him.

It took me this long to notice that Johnny and David have the same hairstyle.

  16. I feel like something went wrong with my TiVo recording. It was only 33 minutes long and and apparently Dean went to IotI? It's so weird because nothing appears missing - no skips or black screen.
