  1. I have nothing against polygamy (taking on more than one spouse) but Mormons only practice polygyny (one man taking more than one wife) while polyandry (one woman taking more than one husband) would never be allowed. It's the dogma and sexism of their religion that irks me. Polyamory is a non religious version of choosing to live in a pural marriage/relationship/lovestyle. The women talk about this being their choice and how they aren't forced into this lifestyle and with this particular group, the two husbands featured, did seem kind enough and fairly laid back, besides Christian who vibes as a bully man-child. But no. These women are definitely forced into this lifestyle by their religious beliefs. Their husbands might not be forcing them, but their understanding of what their God demands is! They follow the principles of what they have been taught even though there is no reality in this foundation. And Abel was attempting to force his wives into accepting a 4th and 5th wife. He gave them no choice in that decision. The only ones with choice were the new potential sister wives. Abel promised his brother without considering his own wives. At least the dying brother considered his wives when expressing his wishes. What Abel's wives thought was best for their family wasn't considered and he was willing to have one of his current wives leave him over his decision. That is an example of toxic patriarchy. So anyway, this bunch seems like a nice enough bunch who love each other and take care of their kids. I just saw story about Enoch and his second wife losing their 7th child, two years old, in a house fire. Devastating news, and my heart goes out to them. I wish this whole crew would watch Mormon Stories. They do have a right to live this way though and the authorities should stay out of their business.
