S14.E14: Hemlines, and Headlines

If your Primary doc orders a “diagnostic” mammogram the films will be reviewed immediately by the Radiologist on site. If it’s all good, you’re on your way. If there’s a concern they may do additional images or an ultrasound.- 170 replies

The outdoor spaces they create are beautiful. I just wonder how they keep all of the outdoor kitchens/furniture clean. Do they have oak trees in LA? The pollen from the oak trees here in Florida would turn all of that into a yellow “dusty” mess.

“And another thought/observation: Jenelle seemed tired of Christine's non-stop chatting in the truck on the way to find the storage pod.” (Sorry “Suzecat”. I haven’t quite figured out how to properly quote.) I’d get out and push that U-Haul all the way to NC before subjecting myself to Christine’s incessant yammering. (Although it was very kind of her and David to assist with the move.) -

S5.E16: Burn Books, Revisited? SEASON FINALE

These women are vile. Do they really need the paycheck/fame so badly to behave as they do? Sometimes I wonder why I even watch any of the HW franchises anymore. I was there for RHOC, Season 1, EP 1. I honestly was in it for the real estate, decor, fashion, etc. But it has certainly evolved into something else. And yet, I’m still watching. I don’t mind drama but what’s with the screaming, screeching, breaking glassware, upending furniture…I don’t get it. I was scrolling through my cable guide a couple of months ago and found a series on a channel called VICE. It was called, “Dark Side of Reality TV”. Season 1, Episode 8 is “The Real Housewives”. It pulled back the curtain as to the manipulation by the producers. One of the things they showed was how they took advantage of OC Vicki in finding out about her mother’s death. It was awful. (I know this is a RHOSL thread but production manipulation crosses state lines.) -
What Would You Do? - General Discussion

I thought the kids being bullied segment felt overly staged/scripted from all three characters; the bully, the bully’s victim and the kid stepping in to defend and ‘comfort” the victim. It looked like bad “acting” from all 3 to me. Awkward is a good description. -
Don’t get me started on “less” vs. “fewer”.

Same! She was never my favorite but hearing her caterwauling at Mykelti’s wedding was what pushed me over the edge. Although I do commend her bravery in getting out of the cult, I’m so over her gag-inducing behavior with regards to her wedding. That family better have “Nancy” on speed dial to help them process all that they’re having to see and hear.

Thinking as I’m reading these comments about the women “needing the Bravo paycheck”. I think in some cases, the need for the “paycheck” is a result of their behavior brought on by being on the show. I understand that alcoholism is a disease that isn’t induced because you have a camera in your face. But the vile, “he said, she said”, etc…things that are amplified by being on camera and encouraged by production certainly keep situations from being worked out or handled privately. In most cases, these women had their own circle of friends. I just wonder if the divorces, friendships, bad business decisions, etc. would have happened had these women just gone about their business and stayed the “Untelevised Housewives of BH”.

I was rooting for and amused by our Clearwater locals, Anthony and Bailey. And I was quite surprised to see that they both graduated from Texas State (or any college for that matter). I believe that many “reality” TV shows, competitive or not encourage the participants to assume/play up a particular role.

I can’t even imagine living anywhere so remote and with such extreme weather conditions. The isolation must be so difficult and I would expect that many may suffer from mental illness given the isolation. On the other hand, the sense of “community” was extraordinary. Given that, perhaps it’s a very peaceful lifestyle. I had to check it out on Google maps. There was no Google “Street view”.

As I watched last night I had to check the episode date because it seemed like I heard all of this last week. I also realized that I really don’t like or find any of these women amusing or interesting. I was impressed with Whitney’s quiet demeanor and restraint. Can’t stand Meredith’s voice, although she was pretty quiet, too. Lisa apparently has elevated herself to Supreme SLC Housewife. Her speech patterns bug me, too. Angie, meh. Too much hair and boobage. Monica …what can I say that hasn’t already been said. And Mary, at least she doesn’t shriek. I do want to hear what Heather has to share about the black eye although it will probably be a whole lot of nothing. I'm probably no longer the demographic that Bravo is catering to. I liked seeing house porn, fashion, vacations, personal drama. Drunken screaming matches (or Vicki and the “family van”) just don’t do it for me.

A “scissor kick” happens in a swimming pool. A “scissor” happens when you’re swimming in the “lady pool” 😉 And it WAS awkward and cringey. -
S18.E23: Christine & David’s Wedding Special (Part One)
Twiz44 replied to Scarlett45's topic in Sister Wives
I’ve been around since Season 1, Episode 1. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I have never been much of a Christine fan. She’s just too much..Always has been, imho. She’s what I refer to as a “look at me” girl. Having to caterwaul at her daughter’s wedding is just one example. It was exhausting watching last night’s episode. And don’t get me started on Mykelty and Tony. But of course, I’ll be tuning in for the main event. I’ll see myself out now 😉 -
