  1. Cara is acting very unlikable.  I used to think she was ok.

I was cracking up when Laurel bent down and Nicole was on the dresser and freaked out saying, too close, too close!  Did Nicole cheat and thats why they broke up?

Kam is a natural beauty. Her freckles are adorable.

Oh Jesus, apparently people have been trashing Josh Peck on Twitter for supposedly ”staying silent” silent about what happened to Drake.

It never occurred to these self-righteous idiots that not everything needs to be a public statement! He’s reached out to Drake in private, which is all fine and well, but people are acting like he’s obligated to make a public statement. He and Drake aren’t that close anymore (for obvious reasons, I don’t blame him), and he’s moved on with his life. There is nothing wrong with that. In fact, considering all the shit we saw come out of this documentary, I thought people would understand that he didn’t want to open that can of worms again!

I agree. Not everything has to be a public statement.  Some things are private.  People need to chill.

No one ever said Trishelle "targeted" Peppermint because she was trans.  She was "targeted" because she was 'different' and did not act in a way that Trishelle "expected" when Trishelle made her rude comment.   Whether that was because Trishelle has not been around many women of color, transwomen, or large women, is unknown.  But Trishelle took Peppermint's response, unexpected to Trishelle, and made a huge thing about it, enough that it got a whole bunch of other people talking about it.  Peppermint was surprised by the "huge thing" when it was brought up at breakfast, addressed it and and then thought it was  done.   But people still kept bringing up without any valid reason to do so (at least as shown on the TV because they appeared to have dropped the "moved air" by Parvati and the "heavy breathing" by John, once those were addressed), and it flustered Peppermint so much that it was still an issue, she was still being targeted for her 'unexpected to Trishelle' response, that she then misspoke, which subsequently doomed her.

Have you seen any challenges, or real world? Trishelle has been around lots of people.  I don't even like Trishelle, but think this is blown way way out of proportion.  Trishelle gunned for Kate too.  Dont think its race, trans, size anything but GAME.

Of course they can be. That wasn't the point of that very excellent post, or of what Peppermint said.  I encourage you to read it again, because it's speaking to a larger point of how people react to those who are different from them. Targeting Peppermint because she's actually acting sketchy is one thing, targeting Peppermint because of some preconceived bias (conscious or not) is quite another. And it's not ok. And it's something people need to open their eyes to if it's ever going to change, whether you're talking about game shows or society at large, where it really matters.

I really don't think Alan cared who won. He was there for the fun (probably), the paycheck (definitely), and the amazing wardrobe (hope he got to keep some!).

That is assuming that Trishelle targeted Peppermint because of Peppermint being trans. I don't think that is true and that is not good to assume that. I saw no evidence of that in the show.

I think lots of times, people make things an issue, that aren't an issue.

It's also ok that we don't agree on this. Have a lovely day.

I think this is one of those things where when you're very aware of microaggressions and have experienced them frequently you instinctively know when they're happening. And the thing about the MICRO part of microaggressions is that it often goes unnoticed by those who aren't conscious of them.

The others can plausibly say that Peppermint's slip of the tongue is why they were more justified voting for her, but Trishelle specifically is the queen of microaggressions. In fact one of the most fascinating things about her presence here is that even viewers who weren't aware of her history (specifically viewers of color and queer ones picked up on her vibes instantly.)

I loved that Maks was someone who saw through it instantly.

The very thought that Trishelle freaked out because she thought Peppermint was "mad" was in itself part of the issue. There's this stereotype of Black women being angry. No matter the tone used, the body language, whatever, "angry" and "aggressive" are always projected on Black women and trans women of color as well. Nothing Peppermint did justified Trishelle reaching this conclusion.

This game is a social game still too,  so it operates as a microcosm of society.  It was the first day, so just imagine how dangerous that level of paranoia is in the real world?

Trishelle took playful banter about outfits and stuff, concluded somehow that Peppermint was angry, victimized herself and then spent the entire day rallying people against Peppermint over this sole interaction adding more and more to this interaction, exaggerating it and making it bigger than it was and distorting it. A lot of people forget that was what started all of this well before Peppermint's slip of the tongue traitor thing.

For a different and more serious context, have you ever paid attention to some of the more egregious "Karen" moves? How they usually start with some random white woman inferring, assuming, or whatever something about a POC and then escalating it, like the woman who called the police on little kids with a lemonade stand, or the woman who called the cops on a man for being in his own apartment complex, or whatever.

So look at it that way: in a real world instance, Trishelle had a conversation with Peppermint, misconstrued or felt threatened by what Peppermint said because of her own ignorance and then ran to the other contestants (police/authorities/managers) to weaponize them against Peppermint. Peppermint was forced to go on the defense and explain herself because the majority valued this random white woman's words, it continued to escalate, and then Peppermint got banished (arrested, kicked out, worse case scenario shot).

Now, people argue "well, everyone gets paranoid, and remember they picked strange things for other people too." Yes, they did. They fixated on John's breathing and the air from Alan's sleeve shifting near Parvati. But did any of that stick? No. Did anyone spend a whole day going to everyone around and making their case for why they were undeniably Traitors because of that? No. In fact, for John at least, they were willing to test the theory before deciding if it was true. Out of those three people who were most suspicious that first day, they relentlessly went after Peppermint first and hardest. She wasn't even given the benefit of the doubt.

Out of all the "suspicious" things other people did, Trishelle ONLY fixated on Peppermint and then pushed hard for hours on that, and it was over something ridiculous from their interaction.  She was like a dog with a bone with this. I'll also note that Trishelle didn't push this hard and aggressively again until it was Phaedra, she was right, yes, but her reasoning was basicall "Dan said" and this notebook with no real evidence. Her adamantly going that hard was disproportionate to what she had to go on or even her approach with the others she suspected as traitors. She also had a similar energy when it came to Sheree. For many of the others, she stepped back and let Peter and the Pals lead the charge.

Even without knowing about Trishelle's established history with women of color, it was definitely in the microaggressive category.

Peppermint didn't name names, but it was evident to me that it was mostly directed at Trishelle because the witch hunt was initiated by her over something stupid.

Wow. No. I don't see it that way at all. I dont see it as a race issue and that's not even what Peppermint said.  Are people of color never supposed to be eliminated from shows?

I loved Peppermint’s speech.  I hope they invite her back and other diverse people.

loved John’s statement, it’s a game!  But it is harder when one is talking about a couple hundred thousand dollars.

I didn't quite understand why Peppermint made the speech about that.  I didn't see the banishment being from people not liking Peppermint.  Trishelle freaked out because she thought Peppermint was mad. And it all spiraled after that.  But it wasn't because of anyone's sexual orientation.

I thought Cirie was on Villains 2. And maybe a BB guy. Do we know the cast yet?

Anyway, great show. I hate Bananas on the Challenge. Him and Tori were on most of the ones I've watched (just started watching the past year or so). Was tired of seeing those 2 and how the rest of the dumb cast would keep them all the time and those 2 would always make finals. Ugh. But Villains really showed how good Bananas is at strategy, manipulation and all that stuff. I think him and Omarosa and Bobby were the most cunning with maybe Fairplay as 4th. Fairplay really disappointed much like the 2nd time on Survivor when he quit. He was a great watch on his "grandma died" season. Great hate watch and true villain. But he really was a one hit wonder.

Was also neat to see Chef Ben. I watch Below Deck and he was a true crazy chef. He isn't on it anymore but loved to watch him and chief stew, Kate. She'd be good on villains. I always think some of the Below Deckies could do these other shows. Like the Challenge or BB or Amazing Race or Survivor.

Kate is on Traitors.  She would definitely be a good villian. It was great to see Chef Ben!

This show was hilarious and so fun to watch.  This group was crazy yet funny.  Except Omarosa who just seems mean spirited all the time. I hope she is embarrassed with her fake injury since well know she wasnt really hit with the tamobourine!  Talk about over the top.  I look forward to S2!

I miss last season's dream team!  😢  I want David & Lloyd back

They were the sweetest, funniest bunch of guys. David, Mzi and Lloyd were my absolute favorite deck crew so far.

  9. Jamiee does not like Culver as much as he likes her.  She seems embarrassed. Her face showed it all.  Joao and Tsarina have good chemistry here. I don't know why Culver dropped Tsarina like a hot potato when Jamiee showed up. I think Tsarina is much prettier than Jamiee.

The charter guests are terrible! The poor lactose lady.  That was terrible treatment of her.

I agree. Aesha has been the best head stew on any of the Below Deck franchises.

Aesha definitely has the best customer service personality of them all. I've really grown to like her. Her first season on med, not so much.

J wow does seem  more chill. I'm liking him and cheffy.

  11. I'm dissapointed! I Tuned in because Of Bananas! It's cool to see Dan, Janelle and CT too.  I don't know any housewives.

I'm pissed that her shit stirring worked. I can't remember which of the other contestants pointed it out but that whole conversation was a huge nothing burger. I've only seen Trashelle on her initial season of The Real World (which is the season that caused me to finally tap out) but I can't STAND her. Is this what she does for a living - flit from one reality show to another to manufacture "drama"?

And I get it - Peppermint didn't do herself any favors in the kitchen but at this early stage when they have no real evidence against anyone, I wish they would just focus on voting for people that are annoying.

Trishelle hasn't been on any challenges is ages. I'm surprised she showed up here!

Just for the record, there's nothing wrong with being a waiter.

She was a Black woman literally fired for being "uppity" (which is what Sandy was saying -- via dog-whistle -- with "insubordination").

Or she had a bad attitude and it had nothing to do with race.

I didn't watch last season, but I get a Jim Carrey vibe. Jim Carrey, jack o lantern, yeah, same general vibe

I couldn't figure out why Culver's looks annoyed me. He seems fun and like a decent guy.  Then I realized...he looks like Jim Bob Duggar to me!

As awful as Matt was/is, the HUGE difference between he and Lexi, even though they both purported to be blackout drunk and not remembering what they did and said to others, is that Matt didn't make any excuses for his awful behavior.  His apologies came across to me as being extremely genuine, sincere and heartfelt, and he sought out each individual cast member to extend those sincere apologies to each of them personally.  I actually believed that he felt truly sorry for what he'd said and how he'd behaved.  Do I think he won't act up again like he did the first day of charter as well as on this most recent occasion?  No, because I do believe that there's something seriously wrong with him.  Perhaps a personality disorder, his anxiety, whatever, and thus I would never ever hire him or trust him to be reliable on a job that I was in charge of.  But his sincerity makes me somewhat feel sorry for him as a fellow human being who has significant issues.

Where Vexy Lexi is concerned, hell would have to freeze over a million times before she'd elicit one scintilla, iota of sympathy from me.  That beyotch is NOT sorry, and was completely putting on a show act.  If anything, she doubled and tripled down, and became annoyed with whomever was speaking to her, those very same people that she was verbally and physically abusive to.

She was an incredible phony in front of Captain Asshat when she had that one-on-one meeting with her, and I don't think it was coincidence that she popped into Yawnee's cabin while Katie was in there discussing this beyotch with her.  She totally wanted to interrupt whatever was being said about her between them.

Vexy Lexi is incredibly manipulative in addition to being an all around shit human being.  It's more than just a psychological screw or few loose with her.  She has crazy, out of control, scary rage/anger issues.  She seems to delight in being disruptive of situations and nasty to other people.  She displays all the traits of a narcissistic megolomaniac (no, I'm not a psychiatrist - it's just my opinion).

I would be crazy scared to share a cabin with her, work with her, and especially compete in pageants against her because this is one beyotch that I don't think would hesitate to smoke anyone who annoys her or gets in the way of her getting what she wants, whether it's a pageant crown, job, or a man.

She is honestly to me the scariest person I've ever in my life seen on reality TV.  I truly believe she's dangerous and unhinged.

Lexi gives Farrah Abraham vibes.  My fake apology isn't working, so I'm over this conversation with you peasants.  So gross.  People that act like that disgust me.

I know I'm tuning in way late here, but the deck crew guys all seem so sweet!

Was Theo played by a different actor? This guy did an amazing job of channeling Nathan Lane right down to the eyebrow inflections, which of course makes sense. I don't remember Theo being this convincingly Nathan Lane's progeny before.

My main question now: OK, the show opens in two weeks. Yet Oliver hasn't seen Loretta? Is she not a featured actress in his musical that opens in two weeks?!??!??

I just watched the episode and was amazed how much Theo looked like Teddy.  I never noticed it before.  I think it's the glasses too.  Theo didn't wear glasses in season one, did he?

I made a vow I would never again watch Nicole Franzel brush her WET hair, causing every woman in the room to cringe and the sound man to scream “My ears, my ears.” Has her mama or friends never introduced her to conditioner and a comb?

I don't think Diamond baby was found.  So sad.

I like Paris. She seems nice, and I know she is traumatized by her past.  I don't like her mom or Nicky.  They treat her like crap.
