It reminded me of those tacky "paintings" that dive bars & sketchy liquor stores hang on the wall, ones that beer companies give them and have rolling water effects.

I'm with both of you. As an only child (and a childless woman), when I'm watching the show I have a hard time wrapping my mind around that "reality." I miss the hilarious details you all so kindly post.

If polygamists have home births because of legal/hospital fears, does that extend to skipping pediatrician visits?

I found that photo of Maddie disturbing. A pediatrician would suggest formula, no? Were they just going to wing it until Meri's magical milk cured her?

Perfect description!  I knew they reminded me of something, but couldn't put my finger on it. 

I've also noticed that many sister wives have a "look;" not a judgement as much as empathy, they look like they've been through hell.
