I only really liked (LIKED, not loved) one piece from each collection: Nancy's tailored suit, Sergio's last dress (although it's a bit cliche, and I thought the fringe he used for everything looked so cheap, ugh); for Victoria it was the pink shirt with embroidery that was under the tan jacket (not so inspiring to only like ONE SINGLE piece in a mini-collection full of separates!); for Geoffrey actually I'm not sure, but I appreciated the difficult construction of the giant jackets - I kinda liked the giant balloon-y black one that Christian tried on in an 'it's fun to look at' way - definitely avant-garde although not exactly the newest concept either.
They all seemed to have worked really hard yet I found it altogether disappointing. If I were to hazard a guess, I think Nancy's theme, inclusivity and sustainability will put her on top . . .

I was actually a little disappointed in a lot of the results, despite the fact that I was liking everyone's original prints and how effortlessly they were made (chalk drawings, simple computer aided sketches, paintings.)
I am again annoyed by the 'team' aspect, I think the Scottish girl is getting a bit of a bad hand dealt to her with her partner, the ex-Marine who takes over every challenge so their finished looks reflect him and not her. That said, she could be a bit more obstinate about it, but then they risk not coming together and finishing.
Did NOT like the winning looks, just a lot of volume, and the tulle didn't work for me. I felt like Prabal Gurung was sold on the story and not the garments themselves. If these had been created by any other team, minus the story, I doubt they would have won. I feel the winner should be based on the look alone. Kinda soured this show for me (but I'll keep watching!)

How does Alexa Chung stand up on those tiny pins? I like her as a host, though.
2 hours ago, leighdear said:I'm not crazy about everybody being paired up. Some are teams that have worked together, and some are strangers that are randomly paired. I really don't think that's fair.
I don't think it's fair either, unless they shake up the pairs for every challenge. I did think they got the winning dress right this week.

Christian Siriano: PR Winner and Mentor
in Project Runway
I have to admit I don't love Christian as a designer. His individual looks all point to different designers. I could never peg a red carpet dress as being 'his', like I often can with other major designers. Not sure what his actual design identity is.
That said, I love his personality and I am surprised how much I love him as mentor for this show! He's funny, a bit acerbic, smart and VERY entertaining. I look forward to him visiting the workroom each episode! (Probably more than I did with Tim Gunn, shhhhh!)
