Thank you to Previously for having a recap of the FULL episode. I thought I'd missed something in a previous episode when it came to Alexandra going to a therapist and it's appalling that they cut the scene of Magda not only telling of the dangers of communist Hungry and her escape but ALSO the reason why she couldn't turn to the father of her baby. These are huge plot points. (Until I read the recap I assumed she'd had a fling with maybe the last host family's father). And even what I read that had been cut last week, while not as important to the plot, they were important set up moments. I had no idea that PBS was even doing that. Grr.
And to everyone that desperately wanted to see those children bathed, YES! It was driving me insane. The only thing I could think was that it was the fault of the director and the make up department and wasn't scripted that they should be so unwashed as they were. Unkempt sure, but filthy makes no sense.
Trixie insisting Christopher go back to his wife is a total overreaction but I can at least believe that Trixie in breaking up with him might think there was a chance for reconciliation. I assume that Trixie relapsing means they will have her off-screen recovering for a while later this season. At least I hope it is only for a while.

I was clueless during this episode but for episode 3, I totally saw it even without knowing the actress had been pregnant.
In some ways, I like it when some shows barely even try to hide it. I kind of enjoy them not giving a damn about something that used to freak out show runners to the point of putting clauses in contracts about pregnancy being a fineable offence.
That said, I think the show did a pretty good job and I only noticed because it was odd that she was ALWAY behind something or sitting with a blanket and in episode 3 it was weird
Spoilerthat Trixie wasn't going out for the pageant.
I only really noticed once I started looking to see if my guess was right.

I assumed the reason why GA wasn't in it more was behind the scene issues, like scheduling or something.

It was a mess of an episode but if I think what was happening was happening, then I am ok with how it went down.
People don't care about William. I think this episode was made to make sure we knew that was ok. He's NOT at his core a great guy. I got the feeling they were setting him up as the next big bad if the show kept going (please don't let the show keep going) But even though we now know he's kind of terrible, Mulder and Scully don't really know that. Scully said they had to let him go. I think she knew he was alive but allowing him to fake his death was the best way to do it.
I'm also not convinced that the CSM who is always lying about things really technically would be William's biological father even though he said he was his father. Tonight he said he was William's creator. So I was left with the impression that he probably took Scully and Mulders DNA and fiddled with stuff and then used Scully as the incubator and considered himself the father since he made it happen but when he said creator this time, I stopped thinking he was the literal father. Not that it matters really. Supposedly CSM is dead though without the headshot it's not for sure. But Scully doesn't seem inclined to ever tell Mulder CSM's claims about paternity. Anyway, was confusing as everything is, I'm going for deniability and just going to piece my own ending out of this.
The pregnancy worked for me because we just saw that William/Jackson can create life. He did that egg trick and made a chick hatch. You can be sure it was supposed to be an ordinary unfertilized egg. So I watched and assumed that William gave Scully and Mulder a replacement for what they lost or were having to let go. So it being ridiculously unlikely she'd get pregnant was fine because Williams got powers. So yeah, it is a freaking miracle and is supposed to be.
So by that logic (or lack of logic if one thinks I'm looney too) Scully probably at least got set up to be able to get pregnant when she talked to William at the gas station. From how Scully and Mulder talked at the church they were still in some kind of ill defined relationship so I don't think her chances to get pregnant was limited to the Twin Episode.
I also assume since all the players in the bad guy games are dead, the pandemic was averted. No one controls William, he let it play out just like he wanted. Scully was so relieved Mulder was not dead after all, so she lets William go now that it looks like he's safe. And I forgive Mulder for freaking out about being nothing if he's not a father because a second ago he thought he'd failed to protect his child. So grief makes you say crazy stuff.
It is a reboot to the Scully and Mulder have a kid story but if the show isn't ever going to give me real answers about the conspiracies, I'll settle for giving the characters something they want in their lives, a second chance.

Long time lurker, first time Arrow poster.
I missed so much while I was screaming at the screen. Did Rene actually shoot Felicity? I thought I saw her grab her arm when she jumped in front of him, but no one mentions anything later. And can I get Curtis's promise to never talk to any of them again in writing? Pretty please?

I still watch their other shows but dropped this one. Too much angst from the selling family and even once the house is all looking great, it's hard to deeply care because the family isn't staying there and usually the new place also needs work and after watching the regular Property Brothers, the show always ends feeling undone. Honestly, I feel like they did Buying and Selling so the Drew got to do more than just show up for the first ten minutes of the other show.

I love the buttoned up suit and tie look but I still choose Jonathan. I think it's because he's the one making it all happen and when there are issues, the one that seems most invested in making the owners happy. I was surprised to read some felt he gets pissy with the homeowners when they pushback. His even temper and affable nature is one of the reasons I like the show. I never get secondhand embarrassment like I did with the hosts on Love it or List It. They consistently make me cringe. Jonathan comes off to me as playful, supportive, and knowledgeable with the clients.
Both brothers seem to adore kids.

I assumed for most of this episode that they were half undercover for a case. I even assumed at first they were in some self contained high tech city. Then Mulder drove home and Scully was suddenly living in the tricked out techno house. I then assumed that she was living there to check out more reports of weirdness. Like others pointed out, there was nothing in the house that made it look like HER house except her personal products were there. Add to it that Mulder had never seen it before, I have to assume she'd at the very least JUST moved there. (And now it burned down so never have to worry about it again) but moving in there to do some digging also still works.
There was very little dialogue and yes, that was an affectation but when the episode opened, I assumed they'd been warned that someone was listening so I thought at first it all made sense. Now maybe they just had a weird bet going? For most of the episode, I'm still going to go with the theory that they were at the restaurant in the first place investigating stuff even if we were never explicitly told so. After all, we also weren't explicitly told they weren't investigating, so why not? It helps explain out of character things. Like Scully using a self driving car service. Wouldn't she just drive herself if need be? Or as others pointed out, let Mulder drive her home. Plus all the automatic smart home stuff didn't seem her. In season one they were both almost killed by an AI building so I dont' see ever choosing to live with that much control given to computers. So I'm going to hand wave the back story that would explain the contrivance and keep my made up excuses. Going in believing all that, I enjoyed the episode.
I had a blast just watching them interact in their first scene and after how they used drones so precisely at the Olympics, I found the drone army very believable.
It was an odd episode but I enjoyed how it unfolded, plus, any lingering plot holes questions were appeased by the hand holding at the end.

The guy (Rex Tyler) she was dating in 1942 has been dead a while now. There's only been Nate. Are we seriously to believe that someone on this crew, or at least Gideon, hasn't taken a look at Amaya's history to see who Mari and Kuasa's grandfather was? I'll grant Mick doesn't know because there is no way he could keep his mouth shut if he did, but if it IS Nate it means he'll be leaving too.

And then neither would have to rush back to 1942 or leave the show since they have a time machine. They could stick around as long as they want.

I did like the later seasons, really all of the seasons, but this stood out. It started to get better as ten went on and I hate that it got cancelled before we got more of it. I'm super thankful for the movies but they kept up mostly certain characters paired with the same characters or like in Continuum, focusing one them independently.

I was thinking they were trying to do what the USA channel was doing and showing new content during either the summer hiatus or the winter break that network tv often has. But we missed the winter hiatus this year. So I'm guessing no new episodes until summer again.

These recent episodes have been deeply disappointing. It's like Arrow went on break again only they keep pretending it's on. There are only three more episodes but instead of excitement I'm starting to dread the next episode. How much disappointment can they pack into a season? It's not even interesting enough to spend lots of time complaining about. It's just dull and stupid.
