I think the buying of the building is much more than sentiment. He bought more than the apartment. I wonder if it was to keep someone there. I also thought that maybe Jon had another family and they were killed. Why he wouldn't mention that, who knows, but buying the wine (which still looked full to me) was when it happened.

I was going to say this. He bought that apartment for a sentimental/guilt reason. Is Barbara Morgan his child? Or a woman he had a child with and abandoned when the child died? Is the woman Ashley tried to talk to related to Barbara.

I guess it wouldn’t be much of a story line if Ashley has laid out everything on day one. But dang she is sketchy!

I'm sorry (not really) but Robyn has never been "hot" by any stretch of the imagination. IMO of course, the Hapsberg jaw kills it.

It’s all relative when you have 4 wives!

I finally saw the episode, and I feel so much for Ysabel.  I hope she's comfortable with what's being shown.  I had JRA, and I remember being horribly embarrassed by others viewing my x-rays, because the shadow of my breasts were visible.  Ysabel looks to have started developing significantly this last year, and this has to be killing her body image.  I think it's telling that she's worried about looking "bigger" with the brace when almost all of her female siblings are bigger than her - even Savannah has gained quite a bit.  So this is one of the smallest girls seeing herself as "big" and that's fertile ground for a possible eating disorder.

This is a good point. She sees all of her moms struggling with weight, and most of her sisters. And the sister closest to her in she, Gwen, has a very different natural body type and is tiny. It must be really hard.

It’s also compounded by the fact that he dad’s favourite wife is the one that is thinnest. Meri was on top in the first season, and she was smallest. Then Robyn came along and was thinnest and hot and the favourite wife. Now Robyn is struggling with post partum weight, and Christine looks amazing and has lost weight (and isn’t eating nachos any more) and is the favourite.

Kids aren’t dumb. At some level these things sink in.

I didn't watch but maybe it refers to Kody's true feelings about Meri.

I saw some of this episode again on a repeat this morning, and yes, I think it’s referring to Kody’s truth about his relationship with Meri. He does not want (at least at this time) a romantic relationship with her, nor does he even want a deep, intimate, “confidante” friendship with her. He thought they were “done.” That is the most truthful I have ever heard him be about his relationship with Meri.

I also thought Kody was letting Meri know that the trip to Parowan would not in any way be a romantic getaway or the beginning of more intimacy right now. I think Meri was in some way hoping for that, or at least starting to rekindle some of those feelings.

Haha, I didn’t think of that, because I didn’t realize it was suppose to be a secret. It’s been blatantly obvious all season+

Well, we don't really have any proof that this statement is untrue. As far as I'm concerned, if we look at the available evidence, LLR's designers do hate their customers.

Not only their customers, their sellers as well. Some of the leaked home office calls are awful. Like straight up mean girl nastiness.

Blame that on TLC's description. They said it was an unproven alternative treatment, which implies something whacko that hasn't been used or had any measurable results yet. Instead the Browns took her to a type of treatment that does have a record of proven results, although the results appear to be all over the board and in most cases seems to be temporary and negligible. Even the girl they filmed had good results at first but had to return to the facility when her curve returned. As Ysabel's own doctor said, it couldn't hurt and at least she learns some exercises to help with her core strength. At $9000 a pop, I hope their insurance pays for all of it.

In the medical world, this is an unproven treatment. (As far as I’ve found) It has no external tests done on it, no peer reviewed articles on the results or method, no long term studies etc. The results are all based on testimonials. This is also why I am 99.999999999% sure their insurance did not cover it. It’s like pulling teeth to get physical therapy and chiropractic covered for “evidence based” practices, something like this would be a nightmare.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t try it, or that it’s wrong or neglectful or anything. I’ve done many alternative treatments in my life. But the TLC description is technically accurate.

The title of the episode however... no clue what that’s referring to.

And the common denominator in the therapy is Meri.  I wonder if Nancy ever calls her out on her mess and says people comes in here with you. The others seem to be managing.  What's up with that.  Or some other professional type comment.

Nancy has a pretty sweet set up. I mean, she probably makes $50-100 an hour. She working with a man with relationship problems with 4 wives, the whole group, each wife has their individual problems, and then interwife problems...

no wonder she just smiles smuggly as they make no progress and go around in circles.

I understand why some may feel that way, but...things do change when you become a couple. You are a team now, and it's not all about you. To use Maddie looking at Caleb when Kody asked if she would be going to the Utah march as an example: I absolutely do not believe for one second that a woman should defer to her husband and his opinions whenever someone asks a question. But there are many times when, as a couple, you look to the other to gauge their reaction or see what they have to say on something. My husband and I have both done that. Sometimes you are just sharing a look and taking a minute to gather thoughts, or what have you. I am very strong-willed and voice my opinions constantly, but there are certainly times when I look over at Mr. Gothish and say "It's up to you, hon." And he's done the same with me.

I also have to say that I've noticed many women go into "mommy mode" after having a child, and seem to become much more subdued, at least for a time. Stress, lack of sleep, preoccupation with their child and their needs, what have you - lots of reasons why a woman may seem different for a while after giving birth.

My husband and I do this, especially when dealing with in laws. It’s easy for us to jump full force into ideas our own families have, but not always as comfortable when it’s not your own family. So we gauge each other’s reactions.

The older kids have said Meri spent time with them when they were younger. I think it is a combination of them living in separate houses, Robyn and Christine moving in family members to help with the kids, and the divorce. She knows she isn’t wanted so why try?

I do think having live in nannies for the kids was a slap in the face to Meri. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, and she likely didn’t want to step up. But with all the talk about them being “our” kids etc. they should have just said “Meri, we need you to step up and help, you are one of their mothers.” I know it wasn’t the other SW’s job to do that, but if it had been done years ago when Mariah stopped needing her as much, the whole course of the family might have changed for the better.

  9. Benjamin needs speech therapy, he’s developing the same enunciations as Auralee.

Not sure when the THs were filmed, but there is one, during the packing scene, where Auralee is speaking very intentionally and her impediment is barely noticeable. “To be able to live in a place where I can claim my husband, and my children can call Drew dad, it’s kind of like a dream come true.”

Sponge Robyn Square Head played gullible naive Meri for all she was worth.  Yeah, I'll be your fake BFF, and I'll take what's always been yours so sneakily, you won't even realize what happened.  Snake in the grass replaced the old snake in the grass.  Meri, you are really stupid.  Maybe when you were 20, it was sort of understandable, but now that you're middle aged, have you learned ANYTHING?

And that’s the problem with so many of these super strict, isolated, sheltered religions. Especially ones that encourage you to get married young and pop out babies. They never have time for personal individual growth and exploration.

Also, for anyone here who watches Sister Wives, did you notice Drew and Angela at the Darger’s house the night before the plyg march? Angela looked pregnant, which would make sense, since that was filmed a while ago. But the funny thing was how Drew was pathetically trying to insert himself into a conversation between Kody and Joe D., but they kept squeezing him out. It was uncomfortable watching him, and they just ignored him and kept talking to each other. I’m sure he was working the trying-to-get-his-own-show angle at that point.

I noticed that! So awkward. He wasn’t even part of their little circle, just awkwardly standing right outside it with his greasy hair, occasionally looking straight into the camera.

  12. I have like 15 minutes left...

Every single commercial break was at least 4 minutes long. This show could easily be an hour instead of 2.

Kody looked miserable when the wives were discussing Mariah and Aubrey

I feel badly for Ysabel. I get that it’s hard. But Christine needs to chill. She isn’t helping. The brace is ugly, a scar is ugly. She may not be saying this to Ysabel, but she’s not a stupid girl, I’m sure she know full well what her mom is thinking. And stupid Kody talking about the other girl at boot camp being a warning story for Ysabel to do her exercises properly and not slack. Talk about pressure. If it doesn’t work it isn’t Ysabel’s fault!

Kody talking about therapy, and during therapy is an ass. He acts like he’s not part of the problem. His holier than thou attitude is infuriating. He’s so condescending. Meri and Kody will never repair their relationship until they frame the catfishing as cheating and work on the damage that did. Meri is a mess of denial. And why the hell is Nancy so giddy??

Kody treats his wives like crap. Always has. It’s wrecked their relationships with him, with each other, and their self esteem.

Maddie talking about birth... yes, women have been giving birth for thousands of years and are still here, except those that aren’t. American home births are a very privileged mindset (from the perspective of some one who has attended births in rough parts of Africa.)

Haha, yeah, exactly. He clearly feels comfortable telling the hetero kids to abstain, because he can relate to them, but I think it would be hilarious to watch him trying to navigate through controlling a lesbian relationship. I just don't think he will even try. So Mariah and her GF are spared!

    Thank you ginger90!

They can’t get pregnant from not abstaining, so he probably figures he’ll never have to know about it!

Although based on his hormones talk, he obviously has no idea how hetero intimacy works, so I doubt he has any clue about homo intimacy. I’m sure Christine and Robyn have googled it though!

  14. I had a dream (nightmare??) last night that I was Caleb’s 2nd wife. We all went on vacation. Going through customs was a mess, then all the moms fought over which bungalow they would get even though they were all the same. Then the vacation was 5 nights, but Kody has 4 wives, so there was a lot of tension over who would get the extra night.

    What has my dreamworld become?!?!

I agree, my dad was one of 10 kids and he was about 4-5 years old during WW2.  They were poor and didn't have much.  Nothing was ever wasted.  As a single mother myself, I learned to do with what I had.  Even if it meant off brand quick oats for breakfast every day, cheap peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch every day, and pinto beans and rice for supper.  I can feed myself healthy on about $20-30 a week.  So I know other people can do it to.  But I do understand there are people who need outside help.

What area do you live in?? That’s definitely not doable here.

I might be wrong! But she said on a different picture that the dog is Mariah’s. Meri might also be traveling. Again.
