This is all too ridiculous. The judge doesn't even think about assessing ML's fitness as a parent until Celeste asks her to? Baloney!
This episode felt like network television.
Yes I was wondering when we were going to get around to determining whether or not Mary Louise would be a fit mother; she did raise a monster, yes?

Ed is a tech guy/web designer who works from home most of the time. Bonnie is a yoga teacher. We saw her at work last season. And Celeste was a lawyer before marrying Perry. She ended up staying home with the kids. I'm pretty sure that was Perry's idea and another way he could control her. But it certainly seemed like he had a lot of money so she's probably well off even if she's not working. (She did bust out her lawyer chops last season when they went up against the town counsel to be able to perform the play they wanted to.) It was a little strange that she didn't know who to go to when she needed a lawyer tonight, though.
Thanks.

I've never watched Desperate Housewives or any similar trash found on network TV, but this show is starting to feel like that.
Also, I keep wondering if Ed, Bonnie or Celeste work and if so, what do they do?

As an American I am entitled to say that Brits pull off this type of show better than us. Anathema in particular I found dull.

Like some others, I also thought they turned both men into overly heavy villains so that we would have more sympathy for Judy and Jen.
And it was weird to me that neither of these woman seemed to have a single female friend outside of each other.
I did really enjoy the series though and hope they don't make it too absurd in Season 2. I don't want to see them trying to dispose of the body and/or magically staying one step ahead of the detectives.
Yes! I too wondered why Jen had nobody to hang with.

I am only on episode 2 but do we ever find out why her sister is married to that a**hole?

Danny gave Theo a jewelry box in which to place her wedding ring for the night and Theo gave Danny the VR disc.
I think it was meant to symbolize an exchange of sorts......an exchange of vows. They're both getting something they want for that night
So why would he say I’m gonna need that back tomorrow I mean it’s just a box .. an empty box
... ❓🥴

I thought he was giving her the same doo-hicky he used for the virtual game, the thing you stick on your temple. They both said "I want that back in the morning.
I'm not a gamer. What I want to know is, do straight male gamers frequently choose female avatars when they're gaming? Because Karl chose that avatar back in the pre-VR days too. Is that a common thing for straight guys? It struck me as odd.
I thought it might have been a key to a hotel room?

I have a very specific question: Why did the system start to reboot after she woke up? It didn't appear that anyone plugged it back in.

Why did Judy rat out Steve? Was she hoping for a lighter sentence for herself ?

I don't know how similar these are to Dead to Me, but I also loved Big Little Lies and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and would recommend them to anyone who hasn't already seen them.

GreyWorm would have killed the shit out of Jon, not imprison him.

And it also looks like the end of the Starks as well. Sansa just announced to the whole world that Bran's dick doesn't work and she's setting herself up to be a Maiden Queen for her entire life. Arya is off adventuring and won't have time for no babies.
The only one potentially to have any kids would be Jon once he finds a nice Wildling girl, but the child won't be a Stark. Two more major houses down the tubes.
I think Sansa can find some gent to have kids with.

You don't need tp be an attorney to recognize poor problem solving skills, and managers at successul businesses make mistakes and when they make them frequently enough, the business becomes unsuccessful. The idea that you are going to be able to find employees who are well above average at generating revenues, and without significant weaknesses is just unrealistic. Employees who are really good at generating revenues are rare, so when you get one, they need to be managed, so their weaknesses are mitigated. This is how managers are supposed to earn their salaries, by extracting value, while limiting risk. Does it work all the time? Of course not, but that's why you need to be creative. Jimmy being a poor fit for a large, traditional law firm was a solvable problem, I think.
