  1. Well Cas died in 18 like everyone knew--since they made it so obvious beforehand.  My final Supernatural prediction--Cas's story doesn't end completely in episode 18 in the super hell of the Empty.  I think he'll PROBABLY(probably) stay dead BUT we'll see he gets a better death than eternal torment of sleep in the Empty.

Does that mean we see Cas again?  Maybe but maybe not...I hear an interesting theory that we may hear Cas's final complete fate thru dialogue instead of seeing Misha.   Why?  Maybe Covid screwed up Misha being there in person in what have might have been just a quick scene in finale--as tptb said covid changed somethings but everyone still ends up the same place regardless.  And Misha did say before Covid that he was in the final scene--maybe in a cameo?  So maybe we just hear Dean and Sam say something like "Cas!" and we just don't see it.

Again that is just spec--regardless if that true or not, I expect we'll see or hear about Cas maybe one more short time in a better resting place than the eternal torment of sleep.  I'd say a small chance he comes back to life...much bigger chance his death ends up better than it seems in 18.

Now of course can be wrong but that's my gut instinct of where that part of the story is going.  We'll see.

  2. So the Variety article on final episodes was nice--it's good not much was changed from the initial writing.  Very much looking forward to the finale--i'm very optimistic about it.  From the article looks like Jim Beaver just filmed one day and the last scene is in a forest--interesting.  I wonder if it really is someone's Heaven as some conjecture and they all reunite there and then the last scene is just the brothers hanging out.

If you go on nothing else but characterization and canon, taking emotion or character preference out of the equation, that is perhaps Badd's biggest failure. There are countless examples of character assassination throughout this board that you so disagree with. From both sides (Dean or Sam). There is character growth, and then there is straight up butchering for the sake of the story they wanted to tell in any given episode. It has been at it's worst when done to prop up a secondary character such as Jack or New!Mary. And no, Badd didn't personally write all the crap, but as showrunner, he is damn well responsible for it.

Yeah, yeah i've seen the grievances...said he's not perfect but also say what brought up not big to me.  If it bothers you, fine.

  4. Regarding Dabb--I think he's been a good showrunner(but yes, imperfect), don't think he mishandled Dean and Sam as characters AND DO think the boys have still been the clear heroes of the show despite them letting others shine too.  So yeah, I disagree with most of this board--lol.  And looking forward to the final 7 shows and the finale of a truly epic voyage of 15 years.

I also get a stronger feeling that Misha was not on set that final day.  Not saying he's not in the ep, I just don't think he's in the very last scene.

That I agree--Misha said as much that he wasn't on set for the final day.

I think he means the last time we see them see each other. Unless he just spoiled that the brothers spend eternity apart somehow. Which even I doubt would be the ending.

Hmmmm...there are some speculating that this will be an ending that bibros don't like.  Could be.

Does this mean there's another Hillywood parody in the works?

Would be cool if we get one last one to cap off the show.

So TNT is doing a fan favorite week of Supernatural starting Monday.  I went through the list and I thought it was interesting who the writers were for the chosen episodes.

Eric Kripke wrote 6, Ben Edlund 6, Robbie Thompson (BABY!!) 3, Jeremy Carver 2, Sera Gamble 1 and I count Meredith Glynn as the main writer for Lebanon so 1 for her.  I personally don't count ScoobyNatural as an actual episode but 1 for the Scooby writers.

For the most part the best writers of the series.

    Monday

The Pilot, Lazarus Rising, The End, Changing Channels, Crossroad Blues

    Tues

,AHBL2, Monster at the End of this Book, Fan Fiction, BABY!, Monster Movie,

    Wed

No Rest for the Wicked, Abandon All Hope, Don't Call Me Shurley, ScoobyNatural, Night Shifter

    Thur

In My Time of Dying, Mystery Spot, Swan Song, Lebanon, The French Mistake

Yes supposedly the J's and Misha and others pick their favorites and we get some behind the scenes details too.

As others have stated, Cas started out strong.  I still like Cas, but like Sam, he has been written poorly a lot in the later years.  So I would hope for a strong send off for his character.  If you had talented writers, it could be done and still keep the focus on the boys.  So we will have to see if they can deliver the goods.  I hope they can, but I'm also ready for what normally happens.  My trust is low due to poor performance for me.

Now if you came late to the show, or binge-watched, your experience is vastly different from those that have watched it live since the beginning.  I started Live season 4 and the reveal of Cas was such a great idea.  Of course, sometimes it failed even back in the early days.

Personally, I find it healthy for the fans to be all over the place.  This would be such a boring place if we all just agreed all the time.  There are strong opinion here, but I would hope that all feel welcomed because otherwise how can we be fans of the show if we are trying to get rid of fans?    Just as I don't have a problem with stating my viewpoint, I expect the same of any fan even if we don't agree.  It follows the rules of debate attack the subject, not the person.

Yep--not saying anyone needs permission for different opinions on Cas or anyone else...just that not's not important enough to argue over.  For example I think Cas has been fine thru the years while others may disagree(though yes the writing has been uneven--but imo not as bad as some state)...and there are a bunch of people on both sides of that debate.  No big deal.  I've followed the show a long time, so not a latecomer concerning the characters.  With regards to if Cas is in finale--we'll see.  It will be obvious when it airs if he was hidden or not...an insert cameo could mean he filmed earlier--an active scene with the J's would indicate he was up there over last couple of weeks .  And of course if he's not in it then he wasn't there.  We'll know soon enough.

And the irony is Dean is my favorite character like most here but I like the whole group a lot too...not Dean way above everyone else--so that colors my experience.  I'm not worrying about Dean--I don't think he is getting killed despite the heaven rumor.

Jensen has said on at least two occasions now that 19 was a season finale and 20 a series finale. How is the TV guide thing new information?

Slight change in emphasis on saying the finale is about the personal threads being resolved--a series finale wouldn't necessarily just be concerning that imo...seems more narrowly focused.  Concerning opinion on Cas in finale and in general not surprised we strongly disagree...that's the par for the course since we agree on little concerning SPN--lol.   Which is also symbolic of our fractured fandom...we have strong opinions all over the place on the individual characters and the show in general.   Depending on what site you got to you get widely varying opinions especially on the characters.   To each their own!

Yeah, it really doesn't make any sense to hide whether or not Misha went back to Vancouver to film SPN. After all, the lion's share of the viewing audience - even online audience - don't really keep up with spoilers and have no idea his character might die in episode 18. And like you said, we don't even know that for sure, it's not like that's actually been spoiled, it's just *fan* speculation. Even if Cas dies, literally anyone who has been with this show any number of years knows everybody comes back, so it would hardly be a surprise if he did. It would legit be more of a surprise if he didn't.

So why make only Misha some super secret return when Pellegrino happily spoiled his character's return - and Lucille is supposed to be dead too, by the by.

I'm not saying Cas isn't in the last two episodes - probably is, but to be honest, I have no feeling one way or the other as to what happens with his character. My concern is what happens to the Winchesters.

Maybe it makes no sense--but I sense they are hiding him with Misha's vagueness recently, Abel and others joking about the issue and Misha months ago saying he was in finale scenes AND also Misha recently in interview saying going back for the last episodes(19 and 20) will be like a reunion with goodbyes and hugs to be given.  Who knows--SPN doesn't always makes sense.  Hey if i'm wrong, i'd be the first to say I blew it.   But my firm bet is Cas is in the finale.

But let me be clear--the finale will certainly be mostly about Dean and Sam for sure AND rightly so.

Cas could be included in the Finale without new footage, though. The episode could be an emotional goodbye with flashbacks or a montage.

I don’t see why there would be a big secrecy about him being there. Why hide his involvement? He is not a guest star or a big surprise. They could have made clear he is up in Vancouver from the start.

Even if they wanted to tease a final death in ep 18, they haven't come out yet and spoiled that either. And by the time the episode airs, I assume there will be a final trailer either way.

They were pretty candid about making it clear that the entire God thing wraps up in 19, even that Pellegrino is back came out.

I don’t  see why "is Castiel in the Series Finale" would be this big untouchable mystery for the show and all the actors/crew are teehee-ing to hide his presence. I would have no problem if he is, after the brothers he is the one who was in most episodes. Certainly more than Jackie-poo who probably darkens the ep.

Well multiple reason including Misha said in the past he was in the final scenes.  But I really DO think they kill Cas in a splashy big way in 18 and do want to keep it a secret if he's really in it.   Any mystery or ambiguity is a good thing.  I expect them to keep it close to the vest until the end.   I give further reason earlier in this thread--I do sense this big time.  Now if i'm wrong we will certainly see--i'm on the record he's there.   Tying up personal threads...Cas will be a part of that.

Now the big question from my perspective is in what way...most likely he stays dead but gets final interactions with the boys.  Could he resurrect--I wish!  I only give that a 10 percent chance.

  13. The latest TV Guide has a short Fall TV sneak peak and talks about Supernatural.  The part that stood out to me concerns the FINAL 2 EPISODES--they describe them a little differently than what we heard before:

"The penultimate offering wraps up the main storylines, while the series finale titled "Carry On" a nod to the song that's become the show's unofficial anthem--ties up the personal threads."

TV Guide ais one of the best sources for SPN info--so I buy their description.  So the finale will be tying up the personal threads mainly after the previous episode deals with God, the Archangels and the such.  So this tells me no way Cas isn't in this as part of tying up the personal threads(put his being there now up to at least 95%)--and why Bobby is there AND no doubt Jack will be too(know most here are not Jack fans--i'm fine with him and I think he's popular overall).

How they tie up the personal threads and who dies and who goes where--that's the mystery.

    Hey Jakes,

Sorry, I shouldn't let my apprehension rain on your parade. Everything will probably be fine.

Thanks--no problem.   To me--Jensen was just open about his thoughts on the finale, talking to Kripke and coming to like the ending.  That said--in the end each one of us will decide for ourselves if we like the finale.

If Jensen had been turned around to a more positive outlook, why would he feel the need to publicly walk the viewers through his agonizing 2 weeks of unacceptable?

He said he turned around on the finale.  Other than saying they had to change things around some because of virus...he's been positive about the show the last few weeks in my clear view of it.
