  1. Watched for a second time, and, even if it kept me very entertained, it was definitely not  perfect, as I said before, Prentiss is the freaking chief and reacted soooo late, also I felt all the JJ family thing very corny specially because I see no interaction and bonding in this team (specially the 3 young men).

And, I agree with nekilarose, Garcia needs a poker face. And with Daniel about the feeling of Reid not being part of the team.

  2. Well, about the first one I loved the focus on Tara.

The second one was great but I have to say that Emily should have expressed her concerns sooner in the BAU with all the team.

Of course I enjoyed Reid finally some good episode for him in this season.

Hoping for season 14. Hopefully with better histories, this season was hard to watch for me (with some exceptions).

  3. Much, much better.

I always thought that Krystall was younger but I liked that she's about Dave age. I enjoyed this story.

The case good and it was great to see all the team members interacting and not disappearing.

  4. It's not hate to the character or the actor is just, with Daniel/Simmons is what he represents, the Beyond Borders spin off, the lack of time screen the others get like Aysha who I think was great in season 11. It isn't about Gubler having less time screen it's about how the writers leave unfinished stories.

Anyway I would like 1 less team member. You have to admit Adam and Daniel characters are pretty much the same.

And I really never care about Rachel, I did like her.

Managed to sneek a viewing of it (thanks Canada).  As Daniel said earlier, I don't have anything to say on it really.  In my view it was poor and thats being generous. Definitely weakest of MGG's episodes by a country mile.  It felt a little like they did this episode as a favor to MGG. No real issue with directing. As with most things CM these days, it all goes back to the writing and it was a snooze fest.

MGG said something in his interview that I thought was interesting "...Anybody can watch it for the first time and not know anything about the show and have a beginning, middle, and end that’s satisfying without any loose ends...". I  get what he is saying in relation to this particular episode, but man, if you are a long time viewer like myself and so many others, that pretty much sums up CM over the last few seasons and to a lesser extent a few seasons prior...painful. :(

Two things I'd like to ask posters here - its obvious that the majority here are big Reid/MGG fans.  Realistically, would you still be watching this show if he was no longer on it?  No matter how long you had previously tuned in, could you really see yourself sticking with it in its current state?  And my next question is, if they get another season and I have a feeling they just might, do you really see any improvement or progression?

Not looking to start a row, just interested because I really don't have alot to say on the episode.

I definitely won't watch if Matthew leaves.

If they get another season (I think they will) better change something.

Last season they left many holes (the mole person  last season and this season why Barnes wanted to break the team, and for the love of God Reid should be suffering some PTSD and I will like to know what's going on with his mom, I don't need a whole arc on this, just a mention would do it)

    About the episode:

I'm not afraid of clowns so for me, it wasn't scary at all. I liked the kids and you can see that it's Matthew's work.

I really wanted to like this episode but was boring. Once again too many agents.

For me this is their worst season.

  6. God that was awful.

I kind of understand when other shows like NCIS or SVU make the FBI look like idiots... But come on the BAU IS THE FBI!

Anyway Normasm and JMO wrote everything I hated of this episode and arc.

    But I liked Anita.

  7. God, I hated Barnes (don't remember and don't care about her real name) but not because she is on a mission 7of breaking the team, her acting was ridiculous, her walk, face gestures, it's like they just tell her to be the biggest bitch and she... I have no words.

    For me they are recycling.

Anyway Spencer is delicious so I'll keep watching.

  8. Well I don't blame the writers about MGG taking time off, he's in his right and the show runner and the network are in their right to give him that time off because, at this point, this show can't loose another original member. If you check social media people are still complaining about Shemar and Thomas they don't care about the reasons.

I blame the writers about the cases, the unsubs, it fell like the same all the time for me since like season 11. God even this new story line feels like the one with Hotch and Strauss. So yes at this point I just wath ffr MMG if he leaves me too.

Finally I don't think Reid fans blame Erica or the writers for him taking time off, yes we complain but it's about his story and how everyone can have a break but he just have tragedy in his life.

Yeah, writing a few episodes without a certain character doesn't take much effort. Especially in a TV show that has actually changed cast members so many times already. Actually giving him a meaningful story arc does. What they should have done is give him some sufficient story arc/character development when he was still available full time. Rather than still not developing his character in any meaningful way AND allowing him not to be present any episode (and why should he be, when his character isn't going anywhere?).

Him not being able to find a common language nor staying out of trouble with any prisoners who confronted him (except for one guy who turned out to be working against him), despite his profiling skills and all those situation when he had to talk unsubs out of actually killing someone, him tampering with the drug supply (and thus endangering the health of at least several people, albeit evil people)... those things weren't out of character?

Not to mention a sheer ridicioulness of ime character going through all that shit: schizophrenic mother, his father leaving, getting bullied at school, being abducted and tortured, getting addicted to drugs, being abducted again and having his girlfriend killed in front of him, his former mentor (Gideon) getting murdered, his mother developing Alzheimer's, being framed for murder...

    Exactly!!!

  10. The Prentiss vs Barnes it' just a Hotch vs Strauss 2.0.

And I'm getting boring about the cases, it's always the same unsub with mommy or daddy issues.

But Reid it's beautiful so it's going to be a long month.

Watched the sneak peeks for tonight's episode, and I'm already confused.  We're told Prentiss has other things on her plate, yet she's at the case discussion, giving orders.  Does JJ only serve as 'acting unit chief' in the field?  If so, that would, to me, make the passover of Rossi  and Reid even more suspect.  It feels like there's something specific to it being JJ who is named as acting unit chief that is important.

Well Reid it's obvious because of what happened to him, in one of the sneak peaks Barnes said that it's been a year since his arrest in Mexico and that's why they have to do a investigation.

And she should know that she can put Rossi because he would ask more questions.

Matthews fans are probably part of the problem.  Matthew himself only wants to work part time( hence the Every 3 month seminar plot)... so he’s part of the problem too.  Adding a real long term romance into a show takes time.  Meaning Matthew would need to show up more.

Yes, I agree with you about Matthew just wanting to be there part time. I feel like his heart is with the show but his brain wants other things and TPTB allow this part time contract to keep him in the show.

But they had 11 freaking seasons to give him a girlfriend a LIFE,  instead they just made Spencer Reid a lonely guy who just have his mother, the writers are incapable of giving him a good story non ralated with his mom sickness.

Anyway, these season I just watch for his beautiful face, I don't care anymore about ratings or if the show will be renewed.

OK, it's official: Spencer Reid is a ghost. Or a hologram they take along when they need Fun Facts. Or eye candy.

Seriously, I didn't mind the whole Luke-on-a-Date thing; Luke is an interesting character who is growing slowly into the show. Like Tara, he's a new character the writers can invent as they go along, and not have to worry about canon characters like, well, like the core of the show - Reid, Prentiss, Rossi, and JJ. (I don't include Garcia, because they just write her whatever way they want). Yeah, so they have JJ pretty much grown up as a 2.0 compassionate mom/committed agent, although it could be argued she's a new character because of the way they've changed her over the years. They've dropped the silly aging Lothario/accidental papa and grandpa thing for Rossi (kudos!). Prentiss understandably has her hands full trying to fill Hotch's role so that she doesn't have much time for a personal life.

But Reid has been horribly traumatized within the last 8 months or so, seen his ill mother kidnapped and nearly killed, and NOTHING. Nothing. Not even a mention of how or where Mom is. No outside life, no finding value in lecturing and meeting new people, no dating, for damn sure. I get that writing for Reid is tough; longtime fans such as I are pretty darn picky about his development; but we want development of his character! Instead they wimp out and leave him there, looking pretty and spouting facts, because that part of Spencer is safe, like pablum. Lazy, lazy, lazy.

Back to the story. The front bookend, with Luke on a date, was nice, at least until the preposterous Garcia showed up. But she had to, so that Lisa could misunderstand about Roxie. And, did she have to be a doctor in a hospital setting, just like Savannah? The scene where Matt the Unnecessary was commiserating with Luke about the lack of communication with Lisa might have been nice if he had been talking to a core character such as Rossi. The back bookend, he and Lisa untangling Garcia's misdirect, was nice and he seems like a good guy.

The story was OK; I thought the makeup this time was gruesome, but anatomically believable. The father who froze when his son was attacked was a sad story, but I agree it could have been told without the lycanthropy misdirection, and the drinking, drugging and wigging out he did was a bit ridiculous. Sappy conclusion to his story. Oh, and full moons don't last 3 consecutive nights, btw.

TPTB for this show need to serve the core characters better. The most interesting character on this show has always been Reid (now that Gideon and Hotch are gone), and they need to remember that, and serve the show better. my 2¢

I knew that they will just move on with the Reid story. Not a word on his mom or a hint of PTSD or PTSS ( whatever they call it now) at this point I just watch for the eye candy and that Gubler looked perfect.

I really thought that this time they'll put Garcia with Luke in a relationship but NO!!! They go with the pretty doctor for the hot agent.

    I still hate Matt.

    The cognitive interview was ridiculous.

    Still, not a bad episode.

  14. Much better than last week.

Mmm... Like it was already said: it just felt better, nice work team, not so much magic computer. The girl who played Desi was great i actually felt bad for her.

I like Luke and it's nice to know more about him. I'm a cat person but that puppy was gorgeous.

  15. I normally rewatch the episode with subtitles but not this one.

I agree with JMO about Reid and I think it's ridiculous that he is not showing a signal of PTSD or PTSS (whatever they call it now) specially if he is in a bunker.

I liked JJ, it reminded me Mosley Lane when she is the one who believes in Charlie's mom.

that was kinda dumb IMO. IIRC, when Morgan left, Hotch offered that office to both Reid and JJ and they passed. (my memory's kinda dim as to the exact particulars, but it was mentioned in passing, in a conversation. There was no actual 'scene' in which this occurred) Hotch then said something about passing the office on to <some department whose name escapes me at the moment>. I think this happened in 'Tribute', the Emily guest stars episode that aired the week after ShemarMoore left. Which I really didn't like much so I've only seen it once.

Yes, it was a deleted scene.

  17. I enjoyed the episode, but I'm with Daniel, I felt all the lawyer thing and the doctor very stupid, it was obvious in season 3 that his partner was the devil (in his crazy head) and, come on, all the bodies in his basement... But it kept me on the edge.

About Morgan and Garcia I think it was annoying (the way I feel about this show lately) and to be honest I don't care if we have a scene with Reid or not, for me Shemar is out, I don't miss him at all.

    P.S. I loved JJ outfits.

I understand the frustration that everyone has with this.

But the ensemble nature of the show means that this type of thing will happen.

Well of course, but for this same nature of the show it shouldn’t be 7 agents on screen.

Mariana, I don't know how much our feedback would help them in real time, they can't change a season drastically once it's up and running (unless some big emergency-type thing were to happen). But they've heard this "the team's too big" for at least 2 seasons, probably more like 4, and if "they" look for feedback and take it to heart, I would think they already would have. Like i've said before, the network biggies can trump any suggestions a show runner might take to them from the fans, so who knows if Messer is just as frustrated as we are? But the end result does make them seem indifferent or hearing-impaired at the least.

Yep I know they probably don’t care too much about feedback, I guess for the network something must be working for keeping this ridiculous number of agents and ridiculous dialogues.

  20. I liked the case. The interaction between Emily and Luke was nice.

And, for me, they looked more balanced, except when they’re together, but, come on!!! How can Reid just disappear like that?! That ruined it for me.

I don’t know and I don’t care who runs this show but, do they get feedback? I mean they can’t be so indifferent to the complains about the number of people on screen.
