All I can say is I hope this is the SERIES finale.   I had such high hopes for this show (don't typically watch supernatural shows but this looked interesting, initially) but it's become so convoluted and with new characters popping up each week, they haven't fleshed out the other main characters or finished hanging storylines, e.g., pilot/dr./missing plane, radio station guy, etc.

I hope not, since I am enjoying the show overall, even with all its problems. Which is a MASSIVELY unpopular opinion on this board, I understand. 😀 But ratings are still decent given its 10 p.m. slot, so I think it will get renewed for a second season. I actually had no opinion of this show at all when it first started; as with new shows, I just wanted to check them out. If I don't like the first 3 or 4 episodes, I drop them. So far, it has held my attention.

Overall, I liked the new angles and mysteries developing this last episode. I also like that we now have less family and interpersonal drama and more mystery.

I don't understand how Ben didn't push Grace into traffic during their conversation on the street.

Honestly, I would have. That scene was totally jaw-dropping. Grace is just ughhhh.... I wish we could have a Grace-less episode.

Speaking of, another Saanvi-less episode, but looks like she may be back soon.

I liked the new twist with Zeke missing for a year. Also, yes, a Zeke-Michaela-Jared complication is looming... sigh.

  3. Why so little Saanvi these last two episodes?
Anyway, I liked this episode because it was family-drama lite. I also hope Autumn comes to a bad end - I have no sympathy for her.

I figured Cal's full name is Calvin.

    Yes, either Calvin or Callum.

  4. Finally a teeny bit of movement on Remy/Jane. At last, Weller knows that it's all Remy now, but he's going to fight for the Jane inside. Just as Patterson and Rich have found Roman's stash of medical info. Why did Roman go to such lengths to hide this info again?

I think it is easier for her to use this as an excuse to break up with Ben so she can have an excuse to cry on Danny's shoulder.

BINGO!!!! Grace has been stomping at the bits to have Ben out of the picture for a while now..... I bet she'll go crying/crawling back to Ben when Cal's in serious trouble....

In the boiler room, Fiona didn't react to the shock like everyone else.

Ahh... good catch! She wasn't affected. Why not? Also, does she now want to continue the experiments - but perhaps in a more benign way - up at her remote location?

Vance had better NOT be dead. The peacock often denotes "eyes", and also, may symbolize resurrection, renewal and immortality. Ben's vision of one may mean that now he will be able to "see", have visions. Perhaps that part of his brain was activated, and Cal had received the memo. I hope Michaela can continue to connect with the "network" and get help from there, just as she though she did with Jared, whose brain may have a received a neural jolt after her request.

  6. Vance's Minion #2 is a bad guy, and the badder guy is someone who he referred to as "Major". Minion # 1 may have been as clueless as Vance (and missing in this episode). It was good to see Vance and Ben partnering up; Michaela already has a partner in Jared. And I kinda like Fiona, who is getting involved in the mystery too. But one or more of the side kicks will die soon, I suppose. Missed Saanvi this episode.

At least the eyebrows provide continuity. They are comforting and I always know I'm watching the right show. Speaking of continuity has there been any followup of the shooting by the shadowy figure of the woman who went to the news? Mentioned by NSA dudes or our heroes. Anything. Happened at the end of Ep 2? It was determined that the killer was not the spurned assistant right? Meaning the real killer is at large. Which Michaela and Jared are aware of (?) so would pique their interest you might think. They went to some trouble with the shadowiness, then seem to have forgotten about it. Maybe they will cycle back to it in season 6 ha ha.

Well, I don't accept that it was determined, LOL!  To me, it was pretty clearly the housekeeper/maid, who bitterly resented that the lady of the house had come back.

Did we see the crash flashback before with a dead Evie?

    We didn't.

The show is settling down; I liked this episode. As others have pointed out, no coincidence that it was Grace-lite! It's nice that Ben has a life outside the house now, and can do his sleuthing at his office, away from Grace. I like his goofy boss. Also, after work, a date with Saanvi to hear Fiona totally works too, as that means even more time away from Grace!! Vance is on the team now, though the rest of the team doesn't know it yet. I wonder about his minion. Also in the dark, like Vance? It seemed so in this episode.

I really like Michaela's relationship with Evie's Mom; strangely endearing. She and Jared work too, and it was a relief that Jared finally told her the NSA was watching and has been all over him. The heartbeat being Evie's caught me by surprise.

The best part was Fiona though. Awesome red herring. Plus, I'm growing to love these intros into the passenger of the week. And how we keep going back to snippets of interactions between the passengers before the plane disappeared.

I thought the Bulgarian guy stabilized simply because his captors stopped torturing him every few hours, tbh, which in turn allowed Cal's system to settle down. He seemed relatively fine at the end of the episode, when they had laid off the torture for a while.

(Ben is actually wrong that they didn't do anything to help--they did, they just didn't know it. One or both of Ben rattling Vance's cage and/or Michaela taking pictures of the medical black site caused the entire operation to go wheels up, which stopped the torture, which saved Cal--perhaps unfortunately given how annoying Cal is.)

That was my take on it too. Ben and especially Michaela and Jared DID help in Cal's fever suddenly breaking and him feeling better.

The Bulgarian guy: I thought it was torture too until the end when he reported to the doctor/tech what Cal was doing. It reminded me of the little girl in Stranger Things, who was able to telepathically spy on other people.

Was he actually REPORTING? I thought he was simply remembering aloud what had happened to Cal. It was as if he and Cal had switched bodies for the day till the torture stopped. Cal, while physically at hospital with Mom, Dad, Saanvi, mentally experienced everything the Bulgarian guy did. And vice versa. Since there was a disconnect between the Bugarian guy's mental and physical states, the torturers said he was responding differently than their other "test" subjects.

Grace irritated me to no end in this episode.

Tell me about it. Grace is just irritating and always me-me-me, my needs. This episode started pointing towards the end of Ben and Grace, and not a moment too soon.

I liked this episode, for the amount of detective work that was involved. It was pretty intense too with the crosscutting between Cal and the Bulgarian guy. I was dreading that Jared was going to snicth on Michaela, but thankfully, that wasn't the case. I want Jared to be part of the Michaela, Ben, Saanvi, mystery-solving team. Also, hopefully Vance will finally start to become useful.

  11. I liked the passenger of the week in this one. I'm warming up to Jared, and I cooled off somewhat on Olive this episode - don't want teen angst. The Michaela-Jared scenes were better than the Grace-Ben-Olive family drama going on. Saanvi is still the high point of the show though, because she's the only one who's actively - and competently -  trying to solve the big mystery.

I wonder if there's any significance to the fact that Saanvi saw wet feet while Michaela saw the wings, in their respective visions, other than the fact the they needed to work together to solve the mystery.

According to the promo, she's already trying to kill Patterson, so it might not drag out the entire season.

I really hope so. Remy is tiresome, and so very yesterday. Flying the sandstorm flag when it's all but dead. I do want Remy to meet her daughter too.

By the next episode I hope Patterson realizes what's up with Jane/Remy.

Good to see Rich Dotcom being back. I hope Zapata is full on evil now.

In addition to both my parents having had strokes, I have worked extensively with people who have had anoxic brain injuries. There is no such protein.

Perhaps my earlier post wasn't clear. I wasn't saying that the protein shows up in REAL LIFE after brain injuries. Just that, according to Dr. Saanvi Bal (?), it does, in the show.

    • Love 5
  14. I liked that there was some movement on the BIG mystery front. Saanvi finally has something to work on. Perhaps everyone on the flight was put on cryo sleep, because of which that protein shows up (the one that generally shows up during oxygen deprivation during stroke).

Of course we still don't know who killed Conspiracy Lady since both "suspects" didn't.

I thought that the housekeeper did.

You can already see the swerve coming, that Michaela is going to end up with the ex-bf while Grace actually eventually chooses the new flame (Dan? Was that the name?) over Ben.

Yep. That was my impression from Episode 2 onwards. Grace actually did move on and is only in love with a memory, cop ex-boyfriend is still in love with Michaela.

  15. Awww...... I was sad to see Roman die - even though I was expecting it. At least he reconciled with Jane at the end. Crawford building the orphanage was quite a twist. Also, what is Zapata up to? She compromised the entire team, and gave Blake the information during the Dubrovnik-island operation. I hope Zapata has truly turned EVIL. Why would she expose ROMAN, who was at that time, working with the FBI?? Her being undercover is getting to be an old story, and not all that interesting.

Patterson said one of the side effects of too much ZIP is hallucinations.  Could the ending be all in Jane's mind?

This possibility also occurred to me. There was something a little weird about when Jane woke up at the end - and also Kurt's sudden relapse. After getting ZIPped, Roman had flashes of memory come back to him, but never lost memory. Why would Jane lose the last so many years?

  16. I guessed the fake Reddington plot a while back. It seems that fake Red was so completely obsessed with Katarina Rostova, that he just desperately wanted to believe that her daughter was his too. It's pretty likely that he offed Real Red, with Katarina's and her dad's knowledge (and approval?) Real Red must have been Katarina's spy mission and Liz's dad. Looking forward to Liz and half-sis working together next season.

So happy Samar woke up, looking gorgeous.

What if the bones in the duffel bag are his  wife and the daughter is his daughter and both are proof he never turned traitor or whatever inthe first place?

Tom knew about the identity of the bones before he died and was about to tell Liz. How likely would it be that Tom would know if it was Red's wife, someone who neither Tom nor Liz knew? I could be wrong, but it's more likely that Tom was shocked at the identity of the bones because they had a connection to Liz. And if our Red has been faking his identity and pretending to be Red for decades, a Red who was killed by him/Kaplan/Katerina/whoever long ago, wouldn't our Red be desperate that the identity of the bones were never revealed?

  18. So.... I think Real Red is in the duffel bag and this woman and Lizzie are his daughters. Which means...... Lizzie has a half-sister?! Our Red has protected Lizzie all her life, as has Garvey protected this other woman. So Garvey and Red can swap many tales about their surrogate daughters!

That shot of Roman and Jane meeting face to face for the first time after all this time was everything. It's not gonna happen but I wish they could figure out a way to get along again because their chemistry is great. Jaimie (Jane) really did look nice as a blonde (though I thought that the fact that Roman fell for Blonde Blake made his comment a little squicky, lol).

Yes!! They had off-the-charts chemistry in that scene! Also, Jaime looked totally gorgeous there. That scene was intense. Roman was shut out again, and now Sis and niece seem to be getting along great as a family. Followed by the scene with Blake, and Roman seems to be done with the FBI team once and for all. Of course, a new problem is that Blake realizes that Papa and Tom are both shady and she may reject Roman/Tom. Also, it's hard to believe that Crawford is clueless about Roman.

What exactly is Roman's end-game here? In the beginning of this arc, Roman told Jane that the whole deal with her new florescent tattoos were all about "punishing" her for betraying him. The tattoos have pretty much all been (practically clairvoyant) clues into terrorist activity (because New York in eminent threat of annihilation every other week) and hints into Crawford's fiendish plot, including outing the corrupt former FBI director.

Not sure yet. Perhaps it is Roman's attempt at atonement, by bringing someone like Crawford down. Crawford and Mommy Shepherd both have/had plans of a mega level of "world restructuring", and this could be Roman's way of making up for a lifetime being loyal to such a personality. Perhaps the reason Crawford came into Roman's radar is because he reminded Roman about Shepherd. Roman was also all about "punishing" Jane in the beginning because he felt betrayed, but of late, his interactions with the team have seemed quite benign.

  21. The Fitz reveal was simply superb!! It also completely caught me by surprise, because I hadn't seen the "Leopold" side in Fitz' personality in any of the timeline episodes in the future. But what if an actual integration of the sweet, gentle side of Fitz merged with the cold ruthlessness of Leopold, is what it takes to change the future just a tad, so that the bleak future doesn't happen? I know what future Yo-Yo had predicted, but how would she know the truth about what was really needed?

I found the Coulson-Hale plot pretty chilling, but then the end-reveal of "Hydra" made it just too repetitive. There's no escaping from Hydra, in any season, it seems.

  22. In the Roman-Crawford storyline, I had no idea if Roman is playing Crawford, or Crawford is playing Roman, or neither and it's all genuine. I'm waiting to see how it all unfolds. Good thing Roman sent the encrypted information about the gala before hisfainting spell.

I loved Patterson's line to Zapata about her being able to be objective without worries about friendships or emotions. In fact, I just loved how Patterson handled herself and everything that came in this episode.
