I welcomed his bullying in this situation.  I don't think she was mentally ill, I think she was a huge baby who had never been told a day in her life to sit down and shutup.  I had no sympathy for her whatsoever.  To sit down and look her children in the eye and tell them they are to blame for what's happening because they're liars?  Are you fucking kidding me?

So true. I think that Sandra gets away with a lot simply because she wears people out.  Talking over others, veering off on tangents, switching from manipulative controller to victim, plus that weird, fast, almost murmuring speech pattern.  It's exhausting!!  I can see anyone who must deal with her throwing up their hands and giving up.  I think that looking her in the eye and demanding coherent answers and just generally calling her on her BS is the only way to deal with her.  Just close all the exits she's used to taking.  If that's bullying, bring it on!

Moussed Mohawk Hair construction guy was a lying manipulating jerk. It is all about him improperly hanging on to a rent controlled apartment. He lied about the notices on his door, he lied about his girlfriend (plus her child and her dog which she walks in the public area and doesn’t clean up after it) being “on the lease” as some sort of authorized person, he flat out lied about the housing court decision (then he lied that he had an email confirming this, then admitted he had no such email).  How well prepared was the defendant? He had documents, he had pictures, and he had security camera footage of the plaintiff sneaking up to put condom wrappers on his doorstep. Smart enough to take pictures of the inspection notice since he finally realized the plaintiff was a conniving, lying POS. The plaintiff’s lying smirk while he was trying to explain away the condom wrappers on the doorstep made me want to not evict him, but tar and feather him and ride him out of town on a rail.

(I posted this earlier, before SRTouch's post and saw it appear, now that is gone. Fortunately, I still had MSWord open where I compose and spell check before posting)

When I saw Mohawk Dude I thought of that other Mohawk Dude who went crazy on the security guard at a concert.  He worked construction too and had a serious problem with the most basic rules of conduct, as well.  MM suggested that he might be getting a bit long in the tooth for shenanigans.  Is it a Mohawk Dude "Thing"?

For the all the drastic changes in character behavior, it's like there's a missing episode between the last one and this one.

Exactly!  Except I feel like maybe a couple of episodes were missing.  Everything seemed so rushed.  I'm not as good at recalling older seasons of TWD as most of you, but I'm thinking of Shane's descent into madness and how it was portrayed in a, I don't know, methodical? fashion.  You could watch it happening.  With this show, it's like everybody went crazy, in a different way, in a couple of episodes.  I find the drugged posole theory interesting.  Celia did go to lengths to deny that she had poisoned it at least a couple of times.  So in August are we going to hear everyone say "Gee, I feel so much better now that I'm not eating that soup every day!"

I get the feeling that Travis has bent over backwards to treat the Clarks as his family but I don't think the same can't be said of Madison. I think some of Travis' efforts to be family with Madison has been at his son's expense.

I agree.  Madison flip flops between sympathetic mother figure to accuser pretty easily when it comes to Chris.  She certainly doesn't see Chris as her and Travis' shared responsibility the way she expects Travis to see her kids.  I don't think that the only interpretation of Chris' remark to Alicia about not wanting to hurt anyone is that it is a threat.  Chris has been one of my least favorite characters, but this sudden "homicidal threat" suspicion is kind of out of the blue.  I know he has been sort of "eager?" to kill outsiders he sees as a threat, but I don't recall any of that behavior directed at his group.  Yes, I know it appeared that he was allowing Madison to die, but I'm not sure that he didn't freeze.  Whatever the truth may turn out to be, I'm getting a real "misunderstood" vibe about Chris the Killer and it will probably have dire consequences for the wrong person/people.

I didn't understand why Laura was so angsty about making the fire together when two days prior Wikingman had suggested he did the shelter and she did the fire. If on day 3 he wants to have a crack at it on his own because you haven't managed it after 2 days stfu and let him get on with it.

I do get that there would be cultural differences between the use of the expression "I'll kill you" but I didn't think she was crazy enough to be pulled out - I was waiting for a major hissy-fit tanty first.

Laura seemed like she was sort of spiraling.  It may have been an abundance of caution to take her out for what she said, but the totality of her behavior made it a good call.

I thought he kind of sort of said that if the landlady saw the actual value of his treasures in dollars and cents and knew she might be charged for them, it would frighten her into rounding them up pronto.

I have something I call the "Shower curtain liner theory".  I needed a new shower curtain liner.  I saw one at Kroger for $4.99.  My outraged geezer gene kicked in and I thought, "$4.99!  Why, I can get the same thing at the Dollar Store for a dollar.  So I go to the Dollar Store and $25.00 worth of junk later, I had my $1.00 shower curtain liner.  Doh!!

Whatever their motivation or mentall illnesses, people have way too much idle time on their hands these days, from Mr.Weigman, willing to go to the ends of the earth for some tinsel, to nuts who think dolls are real babies and that silicone creations are their wives. No one had time for this shit back in the olden days.

Yikes!  I don't think you have the authority to post other people's kids.  This is where FB is getting very bad.  I realize you had no idea the harm you could cause, as do many parents.  We have got to stop putting kids out there on the internet.  I think FB should be used by organizations and is very harmful for individuals.

I was just posting pictures of our family parties, dinners and so forth with group and individual photos of all of us on my own page, never dreaming that anything bad could come of it.  I enjoy playing with my FB page and was even reunited with my middle school best friend of nearly 50 years ago because of FB. Maybe when we geezers complete the total takeover of FB that I keep hearing about, this nonsense will stop.  But no more kids!

  9. Well, not what I thought Part 2 would be. I too expected some sob story to explain Ashley's actions.  I'm glad we didn't.  I have to wonder whether she will submit to the therapy.  She seemed more interested in getting off that stage (and back to FB) than going to therapy.  This woman is dangerous.

About posting kids' photos on FB:  We don't have kids, so I wasn't too well-versed on the pitfalls of posting my nieces and nephews pictures on FB, as I thought only my "friends" would see them.  One of my brothers works for a premier rehabilitation/homeless outreach organization in my town.  He had to ask me to not post pictures of his kids at our family get-togethers.  He maintains a FB page devoted to his organizations good works.  When I posted the pictures and tagged him, they showed up on his page.  Apparently, he would then hear from people who had not completed rehab, saying things like "Your daughter is really pretty." or Your family looks really happy."  I was horrified to think that I might have put those kids in harm's way!

I was so sickened by the woman who was using a couples twins on her Facebook page, portraying them as her own kids.  She was so whacked out, denying that she was guilty of anything.  She didn't break any laws that I'm aware of, but the level of denial is maddening and scary.

Damn, I'm watching right now and see it's a 2-parter.  The preview has even more damning evidence and this Ashley freak is still denying she used the couples pictures. She has the dead eyes and demeanor of someone who could be found with a dead body in her basement and keep saying "I didn't do it".  Imma be pissed if she gets an attitude and walks offstage tomorrow, then comes back with some lame sob story.

You had it right about the dead eyes.  Unfortunately, I think we will be hearing a sob story, followed by a sympathetic offer of treatment (not that she doesn't need it).  I hate it when these horrible, destructive people get that look that says "Finally, the world sees that I am the real victim here" when Phil sends them to therapy.

I think you nailed it here. The actual case got lost when JM went off on a family therapy wild goose chase. To me it was obvious that the daughters were greedy manipulative parasites, living off of Dad, and just waiting for their inheritance from Dad so they could continue their slacker life styles. How dare Dad meet another woman after only three years of his wife's passing! How dare he try to be happy in the remainder of his life! Most importantly, how dare he spend money with his fiancé to enjoy life, money that the greedy pigs are just waiting to inherit.  I think Dad made everything clear in the hallterview when he said he was born poor, worked his butt off his whole life to support his family and raise his kids, who now want him to keep supporting them. He was just tired of it all and I don't blame him. I hope he and his fiancé do well and enjoy their life together, let the blood sucking pathetic parasites take care of themselves. Oh by the way, I didn't like the daughters in case anyone is wondering.

And how dare he live in his own home. The 50 year old "children" kept referring to it as "my mother's house" as though their father was a squatter. I lost both of my parents within a few months of each other and, happily, one of my brothers bought the family home.  While we were always welcome at Mom and Dad's house, it's my brother's house now and we would never dream of coming and going as we did when our parents were alive.

  12. If only someone would invent a disposable mucus removal system.  It should come in a package that only holds a very few of them, so it should be lightweight enough to carry 10 or 20 of them at a time.  It should have a cute name, maybe "Snotty Notty" that appeals to my inner child.  I know!  I'll make a video and send it to Dr. Phil!  His wife is like a Thomas Edison.  She'll solve this problem in no time!

I have limited sympathy for Paige. Sorry for her being under pressure, but this is pretty much the consequence of telling someone a dangerous secret. If her parents weren't pushing it Pastor Tim probably would tell. Maybe he still will. As I said on twitter, the Pastor Tims have essentially become that whole pack of cigarettes Paige now needs to smoke because she got caught smoking one.

Yes, I hate to sound heartless, but Paige has always been on eye roll away from my last nerve.  Reminding her that she got herself into this situation by blabbing after being explicitly told not to was satisfying.  In fact, since Elizabeth is going on a little spy hiatus, I'd like to see her put her talents to good use on Fear the Walking Dead.  There are teenagers over there who are pretty precious about their "feelings" too.

  14. I have to say this before the series finale.  I think that Diane Lockhart is the best dressed female character on television.  At least in my TV universe.  Her wardrobe perfectly reflects her age and her position in life.  So many other women on TV look as though every single seam is going to pop at any moment.  You know their clothes are expensive, but they still manage to look cheap.  She doesn't come to the office showing her cleavage or sporting a thigh high slit in her skirt.  Diane always actually looked comfortable in her clothes, and still always looked like a million bucks.  Diane is what I think of when Project Runway does those awful  "office wear/working woman" challenges and the judges complain that when a designer sends something that isn't a party dress down the runway.  Having Christine Baranski wearing the clothes is a plus, of course.  But whomever did her wardrobe nailed it every week.  Just had to get that said!

A TV show about a Zombie Apocolypse!  Speaking of a ZA, I just happened to see World War Z yesterday and it was frightening how the zombies created human climbing ladders and moved so fast. It was scary. That's all I have to say about FTWD! haha

I just watched that movie too!  That human ladder was awesome.  I wouldn't want a ZA with fast zombies.  That changes everything.

  16. I've enjoyed "The New Ken".  He was such an angry mess on his season.  Sure, he's still intense and somewhat volatile, but compared to his previous dramatics, he's a pussycat.  He actually smiles and laughs and seems to be enjoying himself.  When we had the Sam/Ken détente, I was sure it was contrived to soften us up for Sam's redemption.  Thrilled to be wrong about that.

I was also thrilled that we got so little of Mondo and so much (relatively speaking) of Dmitri.

Nina's presence reminded me of when your real teacher has returned after an absence and is unhappy with the foolishness that has taken place while she was gone.  Isaac actually seemed a bit abashed.

I loved Kini's jacket/top.  You know the saying "The bigger the hair, the closer to Heaven?"  I still feel that way about shoulder pads.

  17. An old acquaintance of mine had a son invented a mold to form fruits and vegetables as they grow.  Basically, you put the blossom end of, say, a small melon into a plastic form in the shape of a skull and voila! It would grow into that shape.  He developed his idea and had it made, marketed it and so forth, but I don't think he ever quit his day job.  I was surprised to see that these molds are still available on the internet.  Way cooler than a sticker.

Please raise your hands if you've forked over $9000 to some co-worker and her brother (or whoever) - mature people who cannot get their own loans because of "bad credit" = they don't pay their debts.  No one? I figured. Plaintiff is either a loan shark or a complete idiot. Not sure which.

The best part was they thought JM was going to reward them for their behavior. Plantiff - a well past middle-aged law student - doesn't seem to think that driving drunk, getting his license suspended and circumventing the law to get his old POS car registered in someone else's name might be a problem for someone hoping to be a lawyer. The fact that he caved so easily and admitted to his lying ("I let him drive my car and register it because I'm such a wonderful person. Oh, okay. I did it because I like to drive drunk and can't keep the car in my name.") is tragic.  Def seems to be unable to drive a car without racking up tickets. It's a good thing he lost his coaching job. Who wants someone so amoral, stupid and irresponsible teaching kids?

I was just mind-boggled that someone would pay that much to rent a place. Even with my terrible math, it comes to something like 38K  year to pay someone else's mortgage. I guess plaintiff has the money and doesn't mind spending it that way, but it just hurts me terribly.

Years ago, before he retired, Mr. Bunnyhop worked for the police department in an office.  He worked with a woman who, after a lifetime of bad decisions, decided to get serious and add drug addiction to her resume-heroin and meth...at age 52.  When she and hubby inevitably nearly lost their house, she found a co-worker who loaned her $7,000!  This lady was just a very nice woman, naïve to be sure, who thought she was doing a good deed for a woman whom she considered a friend..  Naturally, meth head started avoiding her the minute she got the dough.  Meth head eventually lost her job because she told the lieutenant in charge of that office that she was missing a lot of work because she and her husband were drug addicts.  He had to explain to her that she worked for the police department and he really couldn't accept or ignore that explanation.  Well meth lady did have a retirement acct. to which she was entitled at the time of termination.  Mr. Bunnyhop immediately called Nice Lady to tell her that Bad Lady was headed to City Hall to pick up a large check right now.  Nice Lady popped up at the retirement office and drove her former "friend" directly to a bank.  Nice Lady treated everyone in the Traffic Unit to 100 pcs. of Popeyes's chicken with all the sides.  Sometimes the good guys win!

I'm not so sure they won't push her out over the Atlantic or make her carry the rat jar in her lap. Talk about a no win situation. I thought the episode focused on one story would be boring but it was really well done. I was riveted.

Carrying that rat may be the thing that keeps Martha alive, at least until the plane lands.  I recall a discussion, years ago, about defectors, both ours and theirs.  They were never trusted in their new countries, having proven that they would betray their old countries.  And Martha wouldn't be going out of any ideological fervor.  The best she might hope for is a quick "Nina".

  20. This is my first and last time watching this show. What horrible judging! Isaac, just ask Sam out for a date and get it over with, quit giving him a pass week after week. Emily did not deserve to go home!

Everyone except Sam worked so hard on their designs and the judges nit picked at stupid little things, Sam drapes, pins and tacks his material and calls it a day and dumbass Isaac loved his dress. I understood Ken's frustration and don't blame him for saying what everyone else had been thinking. Sam was obviously hurt though, I didn't enjoy seeing that.

I'm no expert at AG but I thought Ken and Kini were very dramatic. I'm glad Ken won. I'm claustrophobic so it was hard for me looking at Kini's model, I was worried about how could she breathe?!

Sam's s simpering flirtations with some of the judges reminds me of a Law & Order episode in which a guy murdered his girlfriend and her entire family and got away with it because he flirted shamelessly with the lovesick jury foreman.

  21. What will it take to get rid of Isaac as a judge?! I used to just adore Isaac Mizrahi, even when I knew he was a prima donna and a bitch. I still love his "Fabulous" cologne, which is as close as I'd even WANT to get to any of his "designs" these days, but good Lord, does he judge with his genitals or what?!?? There is no way even Isaac-of-questionable-taste could have honestly thought Sam's (and I use this term loosely) "garment" was great! Bullshit. It wasn't beautifully constructed (I forget which judge said that), it wasn't remotely avant garde, it was ugly, and the rainbow flag was not only a cliché, it was pandering to Isaac and Boy George..."Vote for me! We are family!"

I don't care if Ken did hurt Sam's feelings. Sam's a nasty little shit and deserves every bit of it. And for the record, I never ever thought I could or would side with Ken on anything.

I'll watch next week to see my beloved Dmitri. I could eat him with a spoon, he's so delectable. But of course King Mondo will be back, too, to reunite with his darling Sam...maybe I'll just record it.

I feel like "Project Runway" (all versions) is my abusive ex. I keep thinking it's not going to be bad, look, there's a glimmer of hope, a flash of glory days...and then nope, it all goes to crap. But I keep staying, waiting for things to improve, because I can't forget how great it was when it was good...

    Sigh.

You know, as happy as I, too will be to see Dmitri, I didn't think of Mondo's fawning over Sam.  I am expecting to be thoroughly nauseated.  And what's worse is the possibility that after a tearful mentoring session, Sam's redemption arc will begin.

  22. Jimmy isn't bailing on Chuck because I don't think that Jimmy has any idea of how deep the loathing Chuck feels runs.  Chuck has spent a lifetime collecting complaints and crimes, real and imaginary.  I'm not sure that Jimmy knows that Chuck blames him for their father's death or that he holds that sandwich at their mother's deathbed against him.  In fact, we're only getting Chuck's memories.  We may well find out that the truth is something maybe not shaped by a lifetime of resentment.

These two have been playing parts that they wrote years ago.  Jimmy may have thought he was making a joke when he said that Chuck couldn't retire until he ruined Jimmy.  What Jimmy doesn't fully realize is that this is probably true.  Jimmy's script reads that if he keeps trying, Chuck will come around.  Chuck's script reads that anything other than the total destruction of his brother is unacceptable.

  23. Perhaps they have a generator ? They don't want to use up all the gasoline.

I gathered that they did not want to attract attention to themselves by using lights at night.  The Strand crew knew there were survivors at the station because Mrs. George "accidentally" turned on a light...twice.  I found myself wondering whether they had a warehouse filled with candles.
