That credits scene with the Borg lower decks is just great. For that matter, the Pakled Lower Decks is hilarious too and is completely in line with what you'd expect from them. "Red Alarm! I'm hungry. You should eat. You are smart."

Agreed.  This was a pretty fun episode but I think I laughed hardest at the Borg end credits.

As for radioactivity, the nuclear reactor in NERVA is closed loop, it does not propel any fuel out. The reactor is to provide heat, which in turn is used to heat propellant, possibly hydrogen. The hydrogen itself is inert in this case.

Sure, in theory, but in practice NERVA spewed radiation all over the place.  There's a reason they were only planned to be used in the upper stages of rockets out of the atmosphere.

Pathfinder launching from a 747 (or a simelar aircraft) was cool. Does anyone here know why this wasn't done during our own Space Shuttle Era?

Not enough fuel.  Pathfinder is nuclear powered rockets (NERVA) instead of chemical propellant.  Our shuttle could never reach orbit off the back of an aircraft.

On the plus side though, our shuttle doesn't spread radioactive fuel into our atmosphere.

  4. Jeez, Karen.  I didn't like her most of season one but she grew on me.  Now I have to wonder what the hell is even going on in her head.  She says, "We need counseling".  No, dear, you need counseling.  Ed wasn't going on any missions till you pushed him to resume.  Now that he is, you are self destructing left and right.

Turns out, I was right after all.  I hate Karen.

Batwoman is not ending next season & no announcement like that has been made.

While you are right about there being no announcement the ratings say otherwise.  I mean Black Lightning is doing better than Batwoman.  I'm honestly surprised they haven't reconsidered giving it another season.

  6. I'm confused.  They traveled to the Gamma Quadrant to that planet and yet they were able to talk to Star Fleet and the ship in the nebula.  I thought the subspace relays where destroyed so how could they do that?  I thought they had trouble talking even close range without those?  Wasn't that a plot point earlier in the season?  Even discounting Book's Emerald Chain device, that seems unlikely from the complete other side of the Galaxy doesn't it?

Also, I seriously doubt the Section 31 show will happen.  I mean CBS All-Access seems to be collapsing and there's already 4 Star Trek shows in production and rumors that Discovery and Picard are moving over to Netflix even in the US.  It just doesn't seem likely that a 5th concurrent Star Trek show will be financed.

I don't get Michael's confusion about that song.

Seriously.  The Federation had 300+ members spanning the galaxy before The Burn.  I'm sure there's any number of cultural touchstones that spanned many worlds since back then communication was easy.  But, of course, since Michael noticed it, it must be very important.

I honestly rolled my eyes at the idea that this crew could even function in a world 900 years more advanced than their frame of reference.  Can you image a person from even 200 years ago offering advice on the best way to do something today, much less being as insistent as Michael was about finding a cure for the disease.

It's frustrating because I was starting to enjoy this season up till now.

Oh - yes - I just meant that I think the Titans show is still being written partially to spin off other shows - like something for Dawn and Hank, maybe Superboy, etc...

I've heard they are still considering spinning off H&D.

God, why?  H&D are so uninteresting.  I could see a show for Conner and Krypto, but H&D, nope.

  9. That was pretty dumb.  No one positively effected the outcome till Rachel deus ex machina'd all over the ending and defeated her ultimate enemy by smirking at him.  The whole thing was pointless.  Gar was pretty much the only good note and he mostly just didn't get beaten to death.

Do Peter and MJ actually get to kiss in this? I've noticed Marvel does not like to have their couples kiss and romance is minimal.

    Spoiler

They do and it's awkwardly cute.
