  1. I find the whole go go dancer weird....was she like a clothed dancer? or a stripper ? Or did she just like to go to clubs and dance....saw pics of her wearing a sweater and dancing..nothing wild or sexy?

I think he seems very awkward...she could do so much better IMHO.

I must say I find them boring - Danny and Amy were religious but interesting, and more in tune with each other. I loved their "how are they now" feature with their sweet baby!  Josh and Aleksandra give me the yawns however.

I think the producers just ran with that go go dancer thing...she was not a stripper or anything like that. Probably just a party animal - lots of those in Europe. The 2000's version of club kids. She seems a little...vacant...up there. Not much going on. And her bf seems like her gay best friend. Sorry, I just don't see them as a traditional/straight couple. Nothing wrong with that though... a union like that could be beneficial to both. She gets to live in America for a while - until she gets bored, which she will, and he doesn't have to deal with his sexuality for a little longer. If if walks like a duck...

  2. Nikki is still considered a minor, under 21, so let's not speculate too much about the sex trade, K?

I think it's a tad gross, but whatever... People are getting a little too puritanical about this. Stop treating Nikki like she's a victim of a pedophile. A lot of men would sleep with a 19-year-old if they could, and he can. He's obviously only interested in the physicality of the relationship, but big deal...so are many other people. And she chose this path for herself. She's not the first or last woman to marry an older man who can provide her a better life. Let's not forget that marriage is an economic transaction.

  3. I'd stop short of saying it's "acceptable," but it is something that's been happening for a long time. Even before the Internet, there's a history of American GIs marrying young women abroad and bringing them back to the U.S. That we're debating it now is somewhat a sign of changing norms. (And, also the 40-year age difference. And the fact that Mark seems extra creepy about it.)

It's honestly surprising to me that the U.S. government seems so... permissive about letting men with money go abroad for "marriage tourism" and giving them K1 visas in this day and age. Meanwhile, we can't manage to quickly and effectively process asylum applications. One of my friends who has a Ph.D. and is married to an American is also having a nightmare of a time getting a green card. Maybe TLC's next show could be "I Married an Asylum Seeker."

Asylum seeking is a whole different ball game. You have to prove that your life is at risk in your home country and that you cannot relocate within your country. A K1 visa only requires proof that you have a romantic relationship with a person and plan to marry them.

  4. Fernando and his family disgust me. He is not helping his parents, he lives in their home. Also, where is mamma bear from? Switzerland? Hun, unless you grew up in Geneva, don't give me that crap about "people from those poor countries" ( like Colombia)....Carolina does not seem poor. She needs to get her head examined though, A beautiful girl like her can do waaaaaay better than Mr. Telletubby playa wannabe from Doral.
