Seems a bit weird that they could write from WF that Bran is alive but he's also got infallible powers of clairvoyance, and write this believably enough that Jon's joy is entirely superceded by his worry over Bran's predictions - and write all that on a tiny piece of paper small enough to tie to the ankle of a raven.

It seems to me that all they had to write was that Bran was a warg. Jon is quite familiar with them and knows their powers are real.

  2. I've noticed people criticizing Kit for Jon's lack of reaction to Arya and Bran being alive, but it's obvious from the dialogue that his direction was to not display a happy reaction. As soon as he announced that they were alive, Daenerys said she was happy for him and she noted that he didn't look happy. They wouldn't have written that if they wanted him to be happy.  Clearly, the direction was to not look happy. I think the point was to convey the urgency of the rest of the message. If all the message included was an update on Arya and Bran, he probably would have. But the rest of the message was dire.

  3. Jon is PLENTY into Dany. I mean, we're only one episode away from when he was just eye sexing her in a dark cave. LOL...Overall though, it's in the small moments . When they were up on the cliff and Dany was watching the dragons, he was just gazing at her HARD. Then he catches himself staring and kind of shakes his head, willing himself to snap out of it. That's indicative of his overall mindset. He's very attracted to her but he doesn't feel there is time for this sort of thing.

And who could miss how jealous he seemed of Jorah's sudden presence....this man GLOWERED when Dany hugged Jorah....Jon didn't like that shit AT ALL lololol....he seemed cool with Jorah right up until the point Dany touched him lol....Jealous Jon is a thing I didn't know I needed until I actually saw it lol

He was also noting her concern for Jorah when he first said he would go on the suicide mission and then Jon felt the need to do him one better and lead the damn mission. LOL JEALOUS AS CAN BE! He's into her but trying hard to stay focused right now. His resolve shall crumble though once they face that harrowing situation beyond the wall together. It will mean a lot to him that Dany rode to his rescue and from that we'll see intimacy develop.

Dear Gods yes!! I know this is GOT and the chances are slim but my boy deserves a happily ever after, dammit! I have my preference as to whom I want him to end up with, but really I just want Jon Snow to be loved, appreciated, and worshiped (!) to the end of his days by a wife, children, and grandchildren.

I really feel he deserves it and it breaks my heart to know it's never gonna happen.

I was going to ask this in the Bookwalker thread, but happily found this one instead. I haven't read the books but I'm raring to be spoiled on this topic.

For all you Jon experts out there: what is Jon's dream? What I mean is, from the show it seems to me that he shoulders responsibilities beyond his years and experience, wants to be honourable, honors his vows etc, which is all good. But I don't sense that he has ever had the ambition for the roles he's been forced to play, from Lord Commander to now Lord of Winterfell and KiTN. Hell, even the Night's Watch, I didn't think he was super enthusiastic about that either but he was determined to do it and do it well.

If Jon had had his druthers, what would his life have been like? Just to be a legitimized Stark and second son? Did he want to marry? Did he want to farm? I have no idea what he would rather have done than join the Night's Watch. He obviously wanted Ned's love and regard, but IMO he had that and knew that he had that.

As an aside, for me the best part about the ToJ reveal is that it means that Ned never told Catelyn about Jon's parentage. Oh, the glee I feel that he kept that secret from her for Jon's entire life. It almost cancels out my irritation that he allowed Catelyn to treat Jon so poorly.

In the books, when Jon is mulling over Stannis' offer of Winterfell and legitimization, Jon admits to himself that what he wants most of all is to preside over Winterfell with a spouse and kids of his own that look like and he would name after his siblings. I think he sublimated that desire because he thought it was something he could never have. But that is what he wants most of all....a loving family of his own that he could nurture and a place where he could finally indisputably belong. I could totally see him raising a bunch of kickass little girls that would be just like Lyanna Mormont that he would teach to fight.

Given how loving he always was towards his younger siblings, I think he'd be an amazing father. I know none of this will ever happen though I feel he deserves it so much. When we're first introduced to him in the story, one of the very first things he does is sacrifice his feelings so his siblings could have the direwolves. I knew then I would love him forever. That is essentially what he's about at his core....family and sacrifice. But he has tragic hero written all over him, so he will never know nice things in his short life. He was born to suffer, save people and sacrifice himself for others. *sigh*

  6.  (Robb was closer to Theon, and Arya closer to Jon, but neither was super close to the rest, both were on Cat's shitlist). The show is over playing the

I really don't know where you got this idea that Jon wasn't close to the rest of his siblings. He was...all except Sansa. And I'm tired of people comparing a hostage to an actual member of the family.
