With all the references to Back to the Future all season, I can’t help but theorize that Hopper isn’t dead but maybe that the machine acted as some sort of time machine. When he was writing the note it almost felt like he was writing to a future he knew might happen? If he was transported to another time in that space maybe that’s how he ends up in Russia. Just something I’ve been thinking about.

If Liza remains Diana’s assistant next season I will find it so unbelievable. I also can’t believe they haven’t told her yet since everyone, including Quinn, now knows.

When the detective mentioned the killer wanting to appear close to the family, the fact that both girls were tomboys, the mention of the woman in white and Adora saying she wanted to “help Natalie” my theory is that Adora is the killer.
She basically fits every bit of the profile that I think was meant to redirect to the Nash father.
That’s my crazy theory.

I wonder if Lawrence is supposed to be like a Schindler - someone originally aligned and working for a regime that ultimately uses his power and access to save people.

I knew the ending as soon as she saw Emily. I don’t know how they expect to nurse that baby without the mother or formula. Who knows how long the escape route will take.
I understand the sentiment behind the ending but it felt more like a reason to prolong the series in Gilead than making any sense for the show. I also didn’t buy Serena’s turnaround for one second.
Probably won’t stick around for season 3 if they are just going to repeat June escaping and then going back to Gilead.
I also noticed a blooper during the handmaid walk. There was a breeze which blew Emily’s cape open and she definitely had something underneath that wasn’t red.

It’s interesting that in next week’s preview that Plum is wearing heavier makeup. I would think that would contradict her transformation?

I couldn’t help but think that Bow was feeling overwhelmed because the show never once showed Dre actually taking care of his own baby. I don’t remember seeing him hold or feed him, offer to check on him when he cried (not even change his body language that he heard anything), nothing. Bow would run to check and he would just stand there frozen. Hormones and putting all the pressure on Bow to do everything, totally makes sense. I was waiting for someone to mention it.
Junior was actually taking care of the baby when Bow was going through stuff (that we could see)

Did Jack, during their argument, say she was 40? That's a big continuity error. She had the kids when she was 30, making her 45/46. I hate when shows can't get simple details right. I get neither of them look their ages (46 and 52), but they're the ages they are supposed to be.

Is Mike Kresteva supposed to be drunk or is Matthew Perry just playing him while drunk/high? He's been slurring all over these past 2 episodes.

She said she didn't know it was Madeline's production. She probably had the petition shoved in front of her nose with an accompanying Outraged Spiel and went along with it, signing because it sounded on the face of it like a reasonable cause to support, rather than searching it out because she actively objected on her own account.
That's what I figured. I just didn't picture her clutching her pearls over the content of the show, too laid back for that.

I don't really believe, unless she was pressured by one of the other mothers, that a younger Bohemian like Bonnie would object to a production of Avenue Q. It was the community theater, not the school performing the production right?

I really hope Kevin had an understudy that quickly went on after an announcement of a family emergency that made Kevin unavailable to perform. Or, they had Los Perdidos* in the wings ready to play an impromptu set.

I have this horrible feeling that Kate will go into the cabin and will get assaulted. I really don't want the show to use that as a plot device. It's crude and too many shows use it.
Maybe because every word out of his mouth reinforces rape culture? I hope I'm wrong.

They give Kate the worst love interests. I'm so over these aggressive guys. It would be nice if she met a sweet supportive guy who didn't make everything about him or a huge public display. I'm going to hate this love triangle so much.

Miguel and Olivia can both leave. I don't think Randall is ok with Miguel. I think the holiday was making him be nicer.
It's becoming obvious to me that this show is not the greatest when writing love interests. I don't care for Toby or Olivia and really want them to disappear, though I get the feeling the show really wants me invested in them. I also don't give a fig about Miguel.
I adore Beth though.

Vella Lovell is Indian-American, at least from what I've read online, so I figured she was adopted.
That's incorrect based on her own words here at 11:36:

Are they going to do the story of a married woman, who loves her husband yet doesn't want more kids, choosing to have an abortion?
I would like the show to at least recognize the option regardless of the final decision. I do think it would be the best choice for Paula to have one based on what we know right now, however what really annoys me about shows is when the option isn't even mentioned.

What really annoys me about Olivia's behavior in this episode is that it's being treated like a manic pixie sage sexy quirk rather than despicable behavior it really is. Sure, there will be people at funerals the widow may not know if they actually KNEW the deceased. Exploiting their grief, pretending to have known him when she didn't, acting like it was a spontaneous, fun way to spend an afternoon to push buttons for an acting exercise is beyond the pale to me. Grief is an intimate experience. Olivia as an actress is used to demonstrating that emotion for a concept or a character and that's something she willingly signs up for. The widow, her son, and the others at that memorial service didn't sign up to be observed for performance. I will never be OK with her actions this episode. To me, it shows she's a straight up narcissist who actually lacks the empathy she spouts to know so well.

Well, I pretty much loved that episode. Jack was a great dad, I related a bit too much to the Rebecca/Kate stuff, I adored grown up Kate having the gumption to go for that job and then standing up to the spoiled daughter. I probably could have lived without Randall's song, but whatevs.
What I didn't like? The actress...I can't be bothered to learn her name. Crashing a funeral is just bad form. Is it really worth it to your "art" to exploit other people's grief? And even though Kevin can be self-absorbed, that was clearly something he would never do and she put him in an impossible position. Also, I got distracted by a phone call, but did they have sex in the widow's house? Really? I mean, REALLY? How is that even remotely okay? And then when actress girl declared that they would never have sex again, it left me wondering if she is just a bitch or if she was prostituting herself? Either way, it didn't endear her to me.
I just realized there was absolutely no Toby in this episode...and I didn't miss him.
I agree completely about Olivia. And she came off quite full of herself that she was so amazing at sex that never having it again was akin to the grief over losing the love of your life.
There is so much wrong with exploiting someone else's grief for a stupid acting exercise. What will piss me off even more if this manipulation ends up "working" in the show universe.

I wanted to throw my remote when they used Will to tell her to go to Jason. Too much Jason in this finale.

Would you invite the guy back who did that? It's not like he was a necessary return for Girls.
As for Messina, he wasn't dumped from The Mindy Project. He was shooting Ben Affleck's new movie. Mindy decided his absence would be the perfect time to explore single motherhood for her character and a more 'realistic' look at how stressful having kids can be on a relationship....especially for two opposites.
By all accounts they love Chris and he's in this half of the season, just not every episode. He wasn't in every episode in the fall either. I believe they pretaped a lot in the fall and post taped a lot this spring.
He's been removed from the regular credits which doesn't happen to series regulars even if they skip an episode. In the fall episodes, his name was listed. That means at most he's recurring now. Whether or not that was a mutual decision has yet to be determined.
The way the character has been written, I wonder if something happened behind the scenes. They eviscerated his character. I wonder if he will return next season.

Is Megan Hilty coming back? Otherwise what a waste of Megan Hilty.
I will never get the Jason appeal and I cringe and fast forward through any of their scenes. I don't care if they get together but it could be my bias against Jeffrey Dean Morgan's one note acting.

I loved how the judge also left his wife for a prostitute. I wonder if it's the same prostitue from butter advertisement executive.

Thanks for the responses! I thought I had read back in the fall that this show was on the iffy side of being cancelled so I didn't keep watching after the first episode. Then I noticed I had 7 episodes and just wanted to make sure before I got invested in it again. Yes I was deeply invested after one episode and didn't want to have my heart broke again. It is a cute little show and I was surprised during the one episode to find it was a musical singing show also.
Just to make you aware there were 8 episodes so far (all available on Hulu or CW). I know some episodes were preempted in markets for sports. The second episode was preempted and aired on a different day for me. Just want to make sure you don't miss one.

For a show that takes great pains to depict violent injustice, appropriating Schindler’s List in such a way was cheap. I see no reason for it other than a “joke” Pop culture reference to amuse rather to depict anything impactfuI. It came off exploitative rather than insightful and some of the responses I’ve read regarding it are how many amusing it is.
