  1. Dre said Paul was the only white man he ever loved. He also described Junior's athletic ineptitude as the Caucasian Curse, inherited from Paul. [D']Alicia's pretty awful, but she's hardly ever there.
  2. Would someone tell my white self what the deal was with the lipstick? I always thought red was good with dark colors.
  3. Couldn't they let poor Jack have one victory? Melanin isn't the only thing unequally distributed through that family. So now Dre's going to insist that Stevens & Lido use more dark-skinned women in their ad campaigns, right? Right?
  4. Maybe it's occurred to the writers that fraternal twins can have different fathers.
  5. I thought that was actually the point. The Rosa Parks flick was clearly a bad, bad movie, so the writers were admitting that people won't swallow a message unless they're being entertained. That's good news for the show.
  6. The show's finally acknowledging that for art to enlighten us, it can't be absolute crap.
  7. At least Stevens got to say something halfway sensible this time. If Bow can put up with Ruby, Dre can put up with a bunion . . . or a weeping abscess . . . or an infected hemorrhoid.
  8. It never occurred to anyone that Junior could take care of his beloved baby brother? Seems kinda . . . sexist.
  9. Maybe they only notice when she's doing something wrong. The inefficacy of the other Johnsons' natural deodorant was a nice callback to "Parental Guidance." I wonder where the idea of handing out Paul's Hawaiian shirts started -- as a tribute to his tastes, or a preemptive strike against the nudists?
  10. "He was shorter than I usually liked." Even with that hair?
  11. It would allow Mitch and Cam to adopt her son.
  12. I was hoping Ruby would have to leave so that Diane could have her room -- serve her right for meddling. Even a barrier between the beds would have provided some extra privacy.
  13. Maybe the ship runs into difficulties and returns (did that ever happen?) and Margaret escapes. She could hide in plain sight since she's supposed to be dead. The Spartans will stay away from anyone who knows their business, and Lydia may soon be genuinely mad. Hunt joins the Bow Street Runners, with Violet as his eyes and ears on the street. Abigail becomes to Charlotte what Margaret was to Lydia.
  14. Ironically, the Lord Chief Justice said he was ordering a short drop so that Margaret would suffer. What happens now that Amelia can identify Fallon? I don't see any down side to the other Spartans killing him. Lydia accidentally killing the LCJ would be awesome.
  15. Well, we know Emily's fertile. When asked about children she replied, "None living." Yikes, that poor sweet girl. The suspense was just sickening. I want Lydia to strangle the Lord Chief Justice by accident.
  16. I'm imagining the opposite -- Lucy goes over to the dark side. I've wondered all along why Lydia would have let Margaret keep baby Charlotte. Seriously, Noah Webster? Loved his dictionary.
  17. Will: This is a decent cunny house!
  18. And in Dan's place they'd have done just what he did.
  19. Maybe they ordered a prepared dinner, and that's why it came in so close to the deadline. Tried to remember whether Chuck had really been Dan's best friend all along. Maybe he's the only one still living.
  20. Was it cold, or has Roseanne lost her sense of smell? She shouldn't have been so surprised to see it. Of course she didn't want her nipples moved -- she got that with her breast reduction surgery, back in the day.
  21. Remember Jerry? They weren't empty nesters for very long. I get the impression that they were maintaining a precarious financial balance till Darlene and the kids showed up. I think they were all hoping Becky would "comp" that meal (you know, steal it from her employer).
  22. Well, Darlene could have taken over but she didn't. And when she told Dan something like "we're doing OK," I thought, "Who is this 'we' of which you speak? You don't pay the bills." (Of course, if David hadn't abandoned the family she might not have ended up on her parents' doorstep before the ink was dry on her severance check.) Maybe the job will give Darlene something to write about. The Old French Whore outfit cracked me up.
  23. I just assumed that after the episode about the vasectomy-that-wasn't, Bow and Dre were playing contraceptive "chicken" -- she was saying, "If you don't get snipped, you know what could happen," he was saying, "If you don't go back on the Pill, you know what could happen," and both were thinking, "If it could happen, it would have happened by now." They weren't motivated to prevent it.
  24. The camera switched on when the main camera switched off because that's the way Garrett set it up. Maybe the condom mention was supposed to establish once again that Jonah is better than Adam, who really was a dog if he wore his Obama shirt with intent to seduce and still showed up unprepared.
  25. I liked how even Carol got scared. One more thumb in the eye for Kelly. It reminded me of Garret filming Cheyenne in labor, and the image showing up on all the TV screens (all identically pixelated).
