  1. I think there will be a big development or perhaps a cliffhanger tonight. Then we will have to sit on it for 2 weeks (no new episode Thanksgiving week).
  2. So - anyone else think Juice meets his maker in this episode?
  3. Oy vey! I really don't think I can handle a KS-helmed period piece. And I really can't see Katey Sagal in a periods piece like this. Disclaimer: I went to graduate school to get a PhD in British history. Didn't finish, but still know my stuff.
  4. Been binge watching early seasons this weekend (end of S1 to halfway through S3). Yeah, this show has never been "cutting edge," "brilliant," or the "best show on teeeeveee!" as many fanboys like to claim. But it was fun, engaging, and had some really good actors (Sagal and Perlman, in particular). The first few seasons in particular had much more humor, which really made the plot holes in the drama easier to swallow (unlike this season - jeez). I like The Walking Dead, too, and am quite willing to overlook MANY gaping logical holes (inconsistent zombie physiology in particular). But I still like it - it's still engaging, but I am also willing to admit it has flaws. What was my point again? Oh, well - I guess I'm lamenting that this season is not the SoA of yore.
  5. True. I mean, as sweet as that scene was between them, does anyone really think that couple would have a happy ending? Hello - it's TIG! If you go back to the earlier seasons, Tig is a bad guy with a propensity to (in his own words) "beat hookers." He has killed so many people, including women. Do we really think that in a couple of years (or months) he won't be taking his frustration out on Venus? She deserves better. But that really goes for all of them. Do you see Chibs eventually not killing people? Jax? Happy (hahaha)?
  6. Yeah, no way Moses would have been that stupid. Former Special Ops, et al? No way he would have walked into that trap. Winsome is "smart," Jax? She doesn't know what re-entering data even means! You like her because she looks like Tara. Tig and Venus? Well, I'm pretty sure that's not gonna end well. Tig is why Tig can't have nice things. Sorry, Venus darling. ETA: I think it's lovely for them to be where they are, but I'm thinking one of them will be toast by Ep 13. The fighting foreplay between Chibs and Jarry was waaaaay cliche. Were those his shirt buttons falling on her? With how dirty those guys have been looking, I wouldn't be surprised if it was bugs. Sadly...Chibs, I still would (call me *wink*). A little Charlie Hunnam ass and a little Jimmy Smits ass, to boot. And that end....woah, Abel! Perfect delivery! (Even though I think everything he has done seems awfully clever for a kid his age.) And good job, Unser.
  7. OMG, Jax! Why don't you throw some more world-shattering news at Abel, why don't you? Hey - now would be a great time to tell him Santa's not real! ETA: OMG, Abel!
  8. IMO, there is no way that both Glenn and Maggie get out of this season alive.
  9. Well, except that time Gemma decided she wanted to be all "confession-y" and "sooo sowwy" for killing Mommy. Thomas = plot device. Poor kid, indeed.
  10. You know you are responsible for my "today's earworm," right?
  11. Well, that's hopeful news - maybe it will be watchable?
  12. I'm going to restate an earlier speculation I made: Maggie's knocked up. She seemed a little giddy about the future in this episode. A little too giddy. Like I said, I don't think it is a good idea, but I kind of expect it to happen.
  13. I've been watching old episodes of this show and, last night, I realized that I don't really miss Tara. I mean, I was indignant about her death but it was less about her and more about the fact that it was Gemma who did it. Sad. Tara was really the only hope those kids had (unless Wendy holds it together and lives). I was also reminded that...man, Jax actually wasn't a total idiot at one point. Oh, and the show used to be a lot more fun. Now, I just want it to end.
  14. That's the episode description? Not a variation on "Jax makes decisions that may cause problems for the club/alliances/his loved ones"? Love...Tig and Venus (as she is supposed to return this Ep, supposedly)? Chibs and Sheriff Jarry? Wendy and Nero? Or is Gemma gonna follow through on her threats to Abel's teacher by punching her and sending her flying? (Courtney Love...in the air...haha...I'll show myself out now).
  15. You know, I read in an interview that TF said his butt would make an appearance. I was thoroughly disappointed: you barely saw it, too much shadow, in an overall awkward scene. Bad job, show - boooo!
  16. The most bizarre part of this season, for me, has to be the Chibs/Althea pairing. In SOA time they have known each other two weeks? Three weeks? And she is basically all "Prove you have feeeeeelings for MEEEEE!" And the whole "Take me now!" scene in the garage. Not sexy at all...not even the brief shot of Tommy Flanagan's butt could make that watchable.
  17. When August Marks shot Bobby, I totally didn't expect it. It didn't have the impact I would have expected, though, since this season is just death, death, and more death. And the Chinese guy they fingered for Tara's murder? Out of town that night. Oh, boy Gemma - you are dumb for never considering that your "murderer" might have had an alibi. And now she realizes she basically killed Bobby. Ugh. And threatening the sheriff? Smart move, there.
  18. Yes. Even if you fan-wank that the virus causes weird bone decay, it doesn't explain the inconsistency between bone types. And last night we saw them stab through the skull of one of the patients that had *just* died, which was like when Tyrese knifed Bob. Instant skull softening? I find that incredibly annoying.
  19. One thing that bothers me about the walkers is that they now have cardboard skulls, basically. Fine - you say that all body parts weaken after a certain amount of time, bones included. Fine, okay. But how come other bones aren't weakening like skulls? Shouldn't walkers' femurs, tibias, and fibulas be like cardboard as well? And so zombies should just be dragging themselves around or just lyin' and snappin'- because their leg bones snapped under their weight. When Glen was trapped by Merle in the room with the zombie at Woodbury, I believe it was pretty easy for Glenn to snap the ARM bones. Now I'm willing to suspend a lot of disbelief for zombies, but the skulls should still be pretty hard if the showrunners are leaving the legs strong enough to walk on.
  20. Tonight's Beth episode reminded me that i don't hate her; she just hasn't really been a character that has had much development and I don't care about her at this point. Combine that with EK's mediocre acting and all the annoying Beth/Daryl shipping from last season and....voila! Look at all the cares I still don't give about Beth! Disraeli Ears and her SO were not happy campers tonight. He actually only sat through it because I'm a complete slave to this show and he loves me. :P
  21. I'm totally with you on this. I saw that the writers are "trying to show how Beth is so much tougher than all these wimpy hospital people because she has been out in the REAL world with her badass friends...blah blah blah." But seriously - they don't need to. Not everyone who needs to be a Daryl/Rick/Carol/Michonne. And bad asses don't always survive, either (see Andrea, Shane, the Governor, Merle)*. I mean badasses in the sense that they could fight for themselves, whether they "deserved" to live or not. And Beth with all those head shots in the dark and while running? Please.
  22. Yeah, I fast-forwarded through a lot of this, but I did catch Barrowman's political stuff. Did he really have to bring that to this show? I think it made Hardwick uncomfortable for real. And about Dawn vs Gareth: she has an advantage as a leader as she isn't EATING PEOPLE!!
  23. Ugh. This episode was Tedium with a capital Boring. Bugged out eyes and flared nostrils everywhere! There were only two good performances on this show and I bet you can already guess which ones: Keisha Castle-Hughes's five total minutes or so as Joan and Tyler James Williams as Noah. I thought maybe Noah was using her to escape, but when they ran down Beth, I think I saw him look angry and shake the fence, so I think he was legit. I'm thinking that Daryl is gonna pop out of the woods with him; they'll get more people to go rescue Beth/Carol. Maybe? Although I really don't care if they rescue Beth. I kind of wish the zombies in the parking area had taken her down. The hospital: how in the wordl do they have power? A solar-powered generator? I don't think any other kind of generator would still be online this far along. And they sure aren't drawing power from any defunct power plants, which would be completely broken down by now (thanks, Life After People!). I noticed some panels on the roof, but I thought those had plants on them. Carol's appearance was the only thing that got me interested in this episode...in the last 30 seconds. I watched it, though, because I'm apparently this show's bitch. And next week doesn't look promising.
  24. Actually, as a kid, I saw - what was it? I think Return of the Living Dead II and I was terrified of the idea of zombies. I was really a big chicken back then when it came to horror movies, but zombies- gah! So later in life, I started watching horror movies as a kind of therapy (as in, "watch this and realize how ridiculously implausible it is and get over your fears, girl!"). And I turned myself into a big FAN of horror films - especially of the zombie type. So before TWD, I would watch pretty much any Zombie flick, read World War Z, et al. I had never read the TWD comics, though as I wasn't really interested in comics. *shrug* When I found out about the show, though, I was all over it. I watched the east coast premier that Halloween 2010 and have watched it since, with varying degrees of enthusiasm but always as soon as I can get to the episode. The funny thing is now zombies have become overdone, I think. I used to watch all the zombie flicks on Netflix, but now there are dozens of them - and they are mostly cheap and terrible, made to capitalize on a trend. *sigh* Does that make me a zombie hipster?
  25. So I was actually being funny (and I won't judge - I've watched plenty of LockUp myself - I NEVER want to go to prison!). I was thinking that AdSeg would be comfy compared to the hole in the ground Juice would find himself in if he went to GenPop. I can only imagine how many people would want to kill a Son at this point (whether he is currently on the club's bad side or not)!As far as the hypothesis that Nero did the damage at Gemma's, hadn't he been at the cabin up until he came back with Gemma to pick up Abel and go home? Unless he had one of his guys do it. I've been seeing people throwing this around on other forums because they think Nero is desperate to get Gemma away from the Sons. I do find it odd that JT would just resign himself to his fate (if he let the accident happen). That wouldn't do much to further his desire to see the club OUT of crime. If this isn't a red herring, KS has got some serious 'splainin to do!
