  1. Okay, been away for awhile and I waited till Season 11 aired to post! Finally saw the premier episode today from Amazon.com. My impressions: 1. I thought Kelli looked really good this year. She looks like she's a bit leaner than in the past 2, 3 years. She looks good! I know many are tired of the tube dresses she always wears, but maybe that's just her thing. Her body - she can dress it anyway she wants. :) I thought she looked great. 2. Didn't really care for the Access Hollywood guy being there and the episode time used on him. I understand wanting to get more promotional airtime for DCC:MTT, and AH probably aired promos for this season. But I'd rather have seen the dancers. 3. The episode seemed more fluid this season. I remember many of us talking about how sporadic and choppy last season seemed. (Though in the long run the extra bit of polish might give the show a "contrived" aura, but I don't mind it yet.) 4. I noticed there were even fewer candidates that last year. Then again, most of those auditioning seemed to have a solid dance background, and that's what DCC wants. Out of the 217-ish girls I counted (while pausing the episode!), still only 15 or so will get into TC. Still, auditioning before a million-ish TV viewers can be intimidating, and I don't blame girls for not giving it a go if they're not confident in their shape or abilities. I suspect that once DCC:MTT stops airing on CMT, the auditioning candidate numbers will climb again. 5. I noticed there were fewer harsh comments about the prelim candidates from Kelli and Judy, possibly hoping being less critical "on air" will encourage more girls to audition next season. 6. They flashed a small glimpse of the doctor who has auditioned every year for the past 10, 15 years. That was nice! She said she never gets past prelims but she auditions because it keeps her in shape. Bravo to her! 7. It was good to see so many familiar past candidates auditioning again. Kelli, Judy and Charlotte would be prudent to bring several to TC and have at least a couple make the squad. That would encourage girls who've auditioned before to give it another shot. 8. I thought it was funny that in judging, Charlotte was the odd-man-out in not caring for one of the dancers. I thought she looked a little flummoxed then said something like, We all like different things, or have different tastes. Which is true, and always nice to have pointed out, even if your face is a little red. :) 9. To me it seemed as though we didn't see many actual dancing sequences, which was a let down. Even the girls learning the semi routine was very short and stunted. That's rather disappointing, since that's why we watch. Then again, that could be because there were so many less candidates than in the past. (Plus, CMT probably sold a lot of ad airtime to earn a profit!) Seems like the didn't highlight any great dancers like they have in the past. Again, maybe the dance sequences just went by so fast. Or maybe they're just not getting the quality they've had in the past. 10. I was really pleased to see Jenna auditioning again, and really hope she makes the squad. She looked in shape and amazing! Less contrived than many of the other girls. (Of course, they're in Texas and that may work against her; don't know.) I think since the show has aired, not one re-auditioning former Vet has made the squad again. Prior to MTT, I know there were Vets who were cut or left the squad and came back to make the squad again. That hasn't happened since MTT has aired, so the chances of Jenna making it have just diminished. :( Which is really sad because I thought she looked amazing. 11. As far as the dancing skills of the girls - who knows! We saw so little of anyone actually dancing, I'll withhold judgment until later episodes. 12. Regarding the featured girls: Yuko seems nice, though I hope she doesn't cry through the show. Tasha seems okay, though she's so made-up. She could loose a couple layers and still be gorgeous. I hope Kyndel makes it this year. This seems to be the make it/break it year for her, so I hope it's her "it" year. I like Madeline's curly hair, but didn't like her fuchsia lipstick. But whatever makes her world go round! Anyway, those are my impressions.
  2. I didn't think Lacey got one her pre-DCC year when she was a TC rookie .... did she? Jennifer has gotten one every year? Wow. From the glimpses I saw of Melissa's routine, I think she did a lot of elongated and twirling moves again this year. She's done that for the past 2 years, so they may want her to expand beyond those and try something new. Don't know, just speculating on very little information! LOL
  3. Yeah, I'm talking about the same year. Most especially, one of the 1st time TCCs who got a Barbie.
  4. Has anyone gotten a Barbie and still gotten cut from TC?
  5. The unfortunate thing with Melissa and Erica, is that they had tremendously difficult solo routines from the get go. I imagine its difficult for them to top great solos every single year. Can't wait to see if they vary things up a bit for next year!
  6. Okay, I stopped back in ONLY to see who got the Barbies. (They don't show that on CMT). Is there a set number of Barbies to be given out each year? I would think the DCC Organization would special order a certain number of Barbies from Mattel. I don't think it's a reflection on Melissa and Erica if they don't get one this year. I know Melissa's already gotten 2; Erica has as well, if I'm not mistaken. Instead of giving excellent dancers one every single year, it's nice to spread the wealth around. As for swimsuit gals, I voted for the ones that seemed the most cover-like to me); sensual and sexy, not inside the calender shots. I voted for Claire, Jennifer and Elizabeth.
  7. Yeah, it looks like the stadium. (Thx for the info, TXStar35) I wonder if VR meeting rooms have been disassembled. Well, this is where I bow out of this thread till the S11 thread is made and the season begins! (If I sneak back in, don't judge me. :D )
  8. I agree. If Kat missed her group interview, that'd probably be enough to cut her from the squad. Kelli and Judy are real sticklers for being on time (which means 1/2 hour early). Remember the dressing down Rachel got in S8 when she was late for the 1st night of TC? I was expecting her to be cut during TC! lol I think it was more Lauren Castillo's rather flippent "be a rock star" reply (though I'm sure she didn't intend it to come off that way) that did her in. From watching MTT, I would surmise Kelli and Judy want girls who see DCC as a giving opportunity than a "rock star" opportunity. :)
  9. Since it was probably a hot day, I'm assuming Kat wore a sundress rather than professional work attire. Makes sense. Guess we'll see when MTT rolls out in August!
  10. It would make sense. And I so agree that these ladies need to be paid for their practice sessions and their performances. A few years ago when I heard the DCCs got paid something like $150.00 per game and nothing for rehearsals, I was appalled. Considering the NFL Organization pays many their players millions, you'd think they could afford to pay the ladies for their time; all their time. Years of work goes into being a good technical dancer, and the DCCs are a huge part of the Cowboys Organization. They work hard and should be compensated. Having a set number of DCCs over which you're not allowed to go helps keep the cheer portion of the Cowboys Organization within budget. DCC:MTT obviously adds revenue to the DCC budget. I wonder what will happen to the cheerleaders' compensation once MTT is cancelled by CMT...
  11. I'm getting close to my bow out time, though not because I'm annoyed. I like to watch TC unfold on MTT, so I usually avoid this thread till August! If you don't want to be spoiler free, just stay away for a couple days. The drama will pass and everyone will be on to a new topic. :)
  12. I agree. After 10 seasons of MTT, I'd be totally surprised if everyone involved in DCC and the DCC process doesn't know about this board. After all, these girls coming into the process are from the digital age, with footprints on nearly every source of social media there is. :) I thought the new facility was already finished and ready for TC.... So we'll still see the girls at VR this year during TC?
  13. Thanks! I wish we could "rip the veil," so to speak, off you insiders, cause it'd be fun to pepper ya'll with questions about ... everything! Hope we see you and your insider POV again. :)
  14. You make a few good points in your post. People do get overly harsh at times in their comments on the dancers from our armchair perch in the judging venue. Often several posters take it in turn to remind everyone that we've only seen a few seconds of a much longer solo performance. Let's remember that the DCC Organization has chosen to air DCC:MTT and invite the fans to participate in the show, and we all know that there are going to be extremes in any fan site. The posters here enjoy watching MTT and love the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. I hope you consider coming to the board more often and posting thoughts and insights. They would definitely be welcome. I might add that joining 2 hours ago with the apparent intent to monitor fans here on their posts seems a bit judgmental to me. But that's JMO. :) And FYI - There are a few people here who say they have an "insiders view" of the DCC audition process. For myself, I don't claim to be anything but a fan of the show. :)
  15. I'm wondering if Danielle and Jessica will go for a 6th year. Jenna might, as she started DCC at 18. But Danielle was with the Jets before DCC, for 3 years, right? That's 8 years pro cheerleading, 5 of those years with the dreaded jump split. But she seems to really love it, and you can only dance for a certain amount of years. I wonder if she'll go for 6 years...
