Roger knowing doesn’t help us any. I hate having to look things up. The show should provide all the information we need.

The character's name was in the closing credits. People could recognize the name of someone who shouldn't be in the 20th century.

And Brianna must be based on her daughter in real life. No waitressing for her. She had to make her an engineer! Heading a vast project no less. In the 70’s! Give me a break.

I thought Brianna applied for the Plant Safety Inspector job.  Like Homer Simpson.

In the books, at least, Malva

and her brother Allan have an incestuous relationship.

    In the books

    Spoiler

Allan had been raping Malva since she was pre-pubescent.  So 10 yo, younger?  The lack of empathy for the girl is baffling to me.

  4. I had a crazy thought.  The last thing the Borg Queen said to Picard was look up.  In his flashback with his mother, she said look up at the stars.  Now, what if the mixed up flashbacks of his father grabbing his mother and something in the dark dragging his mother across the floor was a child's mind trying to make sense of what he saw.  What if Picard's mother was taken by an alien and somehow wound up with the Borg.  Is it crazy to think that the new Borg Queen is Picard's mother???  I mean, there has to be a reason her face was covered up when it never was before.

To wrap things up — in your heads, how many seasons does this show run, if you have your way about it?
APPELBAUM: That's a great question. One of the really good things about this process, even though it's taken two years to get from inception to screen, is that we've had a lot of time to sit and ponder and think about where the show would go. So we have a lot of big plans for what we want to do in future seasons.

We don't want to nail ourselves down to, it's going to be this X many seasons. But we think because it has such an interest group of characters who have their own stories. And it's also a world that has lots of mysteries that are unfolding. And as soon as you solve one mystery, another one opens up. We think it really has a potential to go for multiple seasons. But as far as like X number of seasons, that's not something that we've tried to nail ourselves to.

As a quick follow up on that, do you have a break-glass-in-case-of-abrupt-cancellation plan?
APPELBAUM: This is a 10-episode season, and we've completed the filming of the first season. So the first season has great stories and great climaxes. So I think we're telling really interesting stories. But as far as if it gets canceled, it's not something that we're really thinking about. Our job is just to create great stories and make the audience want to come back week after week. So it's not something that we're really planning for. We're just trying to tell the most interesting story that we can.

So there's no worry about leaving unanswered questions on the table?
APPELBAUM: The truth is that we're just trying to make a compelling episode. And if other people are making that decision, that's kind of out of our hands. We've never been asked to construct our story "in case of," but I think that can be a tough way to approach story, a defensive way to approach story. So we're just trying to make the audience be compelled and want to come back.

These answers are making me want to stop watching.  It doesn't sound like he's planned out how this will end.

I think that's part of it especially when neither of them fit into the chiseled hunky leading man role. Neither of them are considered masculine enough by TPTB either. Lucas was at least was in a popular pairing w/ Sami, father of one of the few gay characters in the show's history, and Kate's son(this show loves Kate for some strange reason) for that he will always be welcome for visits.

I don't expect Casey Moss/JJ to return there's nothing for him here. Despite his parents and sister being here JJ is treated as more of an afterthought than Lucas.

Also they play Horton males and is there are no Horton blood males that have been written as longstanding leading men on this show. The exceptions have been Tom and Mickey(although by the 80s he was treated as an afterthought who was known for losing cases more than anything).

    What about Mike Horton?

He's going to wind up a prisoner, from what I understand.

Was today's episode supposed to be a Friday show?

I believe it was supposed to be the last episode before the Olympics.

When Byron hid behind Claire I had to give the show some side-eye. While he did have his...er...flaws, I had never heard that being a physical coward was one of them.

It's hard for me to reconcile a Byron hiding behind a woman with the one that goes off to help Greece fight for independence from the Ottoman Empire.

I'm hoping I'll get used to it, but right now, I'm not a fan.  All of the previous versions felt very fitting for the time and location of that season.  Is this "accurate" for pre-American Revolution in the colonies?

I can't point to anything specific, but this does "feel" like early American music.  And I trust these guys to have researched the music.

Mitch and Cam talking about hot Lily’s body is was just wrong. Ew... Their being gay doesn’t make commenting on a young girls body okay.

I think they were purposely trying to creep her out so she would agree to go to the party if they stopped talking.  After she agreed, they looked at each other and nodded.

I feel like you do, LastWaltz.  If this comes to pass, I don't think I can bear to watch the humiliation of the show, because that's what it will feel like.  Remove the humanity from DOOL - and it's already running low, IMO - and there's nothing of interest left for me.   The constant parade of crazies is already overwhelming, and I don't want to watch a clown show, especially when characters I still have affection for are turned into even bigger caricatures than they are now.

    Ugh.

I can't help thinking that a show like Ducktales has more genuine human emotional beats than this mess.

I have been off and on with this show since the '70's.  I think I'll be gone for good after this time jump.

I think we have a slight communication problem here. "Bromance" doesn't mean anything sexual. It means a friendship which runs so deep that it is more than just friendship. It is like brotherhood, except that you can't pick your brother, but you can pick your friends, so it is the mixture of the best of both worlds. It simply indicates a deep emotional connection, nothing more, but also nothing less.

Bucky is everything for Steve. He is his family, he is his best friend (at least until Sam came along to provide some competition), he is the one person in the world who knows Steve better than anyone else. Even Peggy, considering that Peggy doesn't have any childhood memories with Steve. And he is the person in the world who always had Steve's back, even when he was poor, scrawny and unpopular.

No, I understand Bromance is not sexual.  I always considered it means a strong friendship.  My point was Steve and Bucky are brothers.  We seem to agree on that.  It's just you would never say brothers have a bromance.. The bond between brothers is deeper than a friendship.  IMO

I didn't expect them to end up being a couple. In fact, I prefer them as epic bromance (just like I prefer Steve and Natasha as friends, and Clint and Natasha as friends). But there is no denying that the whole Captain America Saga has always been more about Bucky than Peggy. And I can understand why some people feel that the denying of this bromance in favour for a heteronormative ending which conforms to the really, really old idea that the hero has to get the girl in the end does both the character and the franchise a disservice.

Several posters have talked about how the Avengers are a "found family".  Steve's first "found family" was Bucky.  They are brothers, plain and simple.  That's is why Bucky is so important to Steve.  It is not a bromance.  Steve's feelings for Peggy have nothing to do with his feelings for Bucky.

The picture joke with Hulk & Scott was entirely too long and became increasingly less funny and just plain awkward.

Yeah, the picture joke was another thing which could have been shortened or even removed altogether. I didn't feel that it was telling me anything about the characters I didn't know already.

What bothered me most about that scene (besides not being funny) was that they completely skipped over huge character development of both Bruce and the Hulk that was 10 years coming.  All so they can have the shock reveal of Professor Hulk.

Although being in the Soul Stone isn't really the same thing as being dead, so there's no reason they can't have Black Widow and Original Recipe Gamora properly returned.

This is my secret hope for Phase 4.

While they consistently keep reiterating that they did, and while also never even acknowledging the ramifications for the rest of the universe.

From a storytelling standpoint, I think the biggest issues have come from them allowing Thanos to make the snap.  If they hadn't done that, I don't think the scope of their story would have gotten quite so far away from them.  They basically went a step too far... for shock value, not for storytelling value.  And if they had kept the scope to something that would be more inline with a 2-3 hour movie, they still could have used Time Travel and creating the mulitverse to stop him, but it would have eliminated so many of the unanswerable questions if they hadn't been so hot to kill everyone.  And when you have to spend countless interviews and AMAs trying to 'explain' your movie, that's generally a pretty clear indication of a failure in the storytelling.  It was still a very pretty movie, though.

I disagree with this. Why film one of Marvel's biggest comic book stories, and then end it half way through?  Thanos succeeded and the Avengers failed. If you're going to switch it around, why bother.  Pick another story.

To return the stones, Steve would have to

    • Find the Tesseract and put the Space Stone Back in it, then go to 1970 and put it back after Tony takes it. (Two Steves at this place)
    • I didn't see him take the Scepter with him, but he'd have to still place the Mind Stone back on it, head to 2012 and put it back after his past self wipes out his past-past self's memory and runs of with it. (Three Steves here)
    • He'd have to somehow desolidify the Reality Stone, head to 2014 Asgard and somehow put it back into Jane right after Rocket takes it out of her.
    • Head to 2014 Morag and replace the Power Stone right after Nebula and Rhodey head back to 2023 and before Peter gets there.
    • He can just hand over the Time Stone to the Ancient One after Bruce disappears with it.
    • He'd have to wait till Nat died and Clint took off with the Soul Stone and then give it back to the Red Skull? How does one return that stone?

The rule for the soul stone was "a soul for a soul".  When Steve returned the soul stone, shouldn't he have received a soul back?  Was I the only one expecting Nat to come back with Steve at the end?
