I don't think we've talked about this girl here but she is a Duggar friend and has attended the last few Duggar weddings. She wrote a post about no longer considering herself a Christian.

This makes me sad only in the sense that she is probably more Christ-following than the “Christians” who have turned her off of the faith.

  2. In regards to the vow renewal, I feel like it would only make sense - especially for fundie couples - if there were marital trials. Like, I would kind of understand if Josh and Anna did it after his infidelity, but if you said your vows in front of God and you haven’t broken those vows, why would you need to renew them?

Then again, I don’t have a TV show I need to come up with story arcs for.

I’m glad the Rod girls are largely okay but good lord Jill is gross. What a freaking attention whore grifter.

  3. I used to attend a church that would welcome LGBTQ people in their doors - then preach on how it’s a sin and try to “save” them. They would be lovely to their face but never accept them as they are.

I mean... if Derek could think logically for a minute, he may see that there are many gay couples who have been HAPPILY committed for decades. He should know that you can’t have a happy marriage for 40 or 50 years without REAL love. You can be married that long but if the love isn’t there, it’s not going to be a fulfilling relationship! I don’t know what he thinks keeps a gay couple together for so long if it’s anything but true love.

  4. Joy isn't even old enough to legally drink at a Bachelorette party if she wanted to!

Instead of going out dancing at 20, she will be living at the beck and call of a tiny screaming human, and maybe wishing she could do a little drinking!

I will never really get the need for a vow renewal . I mean you say it once with the until death stuff and they are fundies and against divorce so what's the point ?

I have wondered, too. I can see why celebs do it for attention and maybe those who have gone through marital trials who want to reaffirm their commitment, but I didnt think it was something most evangelical Christians would do for the reason you stated. I wish someone would ask JRod to see what her response was.

Lol, right? 12k to babysit little kids during church and read them Bible stories? These people are seriously deluded.

What a scam. I teach 3-year-olds in Sunday School. If you have a basic understanding of the Bible, know a few Bible songs, and can referee a ring of threenagers, they will be more than happy to let you join the ministry at our church! I mean, for most kids at this age, the deepest question they ask is when is snacktime?

  7. Yeah, no. Fundraising is for the typical young people doing this who don't have money. Not millionaire reality TV stars. Sad as it is, Jill can probably earn that cash in one speaking engagement. On the chance they win that multi-million dollar lawsuit, will he continue to ask for donations?

Gross. Run a bake sale like the rest of us have to when we need to earn money for our causes.

  8. I'm a little less than two months post partum and look even dumpier. I can't even knock the bra because after 3 kids I still haven't found a nursing bra that is actually as supportive as my regular bras and the ones I own weren't cheap. She looks fine.
