There is literally nothing to suggest that she performed poorly during SG auditions. Nothing. No one said that, and she was not shown struggling during the dance portions. Now, if Jalyn performed badly and they just conveniently edited out all of the comments and all of the clips (clips that would supported Kelli’s viewpoint), then Kelli isn’t just a joke of a manager, but she’s a joke of an executive producer too.

Not standing out is the same thing as performing poorly when your talking about SG.   MRS and Jacie both noticed VK positively, which was more than noticed Jalyn.

Yeah Cassie was pretty awful that first year. The only reason she made it out of prelims was her last name. Victoria is a much better dancer than Cassie and she’s much prettier. But I understand the sentiment!

Being a clean dancer and a big dancer can make the difference of being noticed.

If she wasn't noticed by all the judges that is not the other dancers problem ... gotta move on.

The girl did not quit so she must have sucked it up and moved on herself already

She wasn't pushed out ..... we was not chosen

Show group is for private corporate parties and small events that only Dallas area sees anymore really.  I think someone posted they were no longer going overseas (could be wrong!)

Being on the team you are worldwide on game day .... pros and cons for everything.

I’ll agree to disagree. The “not standing out” seems to be based on Kelli’s comment, and I don’t find Kelli credible. And I also don’t think we know who noticed Jalyn. It’s highly unlikely that only 3 comments were made about her or any other girl during deliberations. 

And to be clear, I don’t care about VK. She’s nothing more than a footnote in this story IMO. If Kelli switched them out for petty reasons, that’s on Kelli 100%.

I still dont think its a point of doing badly just not making an impression ... maybe the way Rachel did.  Charlotte once asked about a vet making it back on the team did they do anything to keep it when Christy said she didnt think they did anything to lose it ... same thing with show group. (Not sure what vet that was)  Brennan was clean and they cut her .... she was boring at that time.  SG is usually made up of majority votes. So you had Kelli Jacie Shelly Melissa voting yes there you go

Ummm, they are not worldwide on game day.  Maybe 8-10 seconds max, if the game is broadcast.  You only see the DCC if you are at a game and/or grocery store, sometimes.

Yeah, this episode really needed a talking head of Kelli saying, "Jalyn is a good team member and a solid dancer, but after a spending a year with her, thought other TCC/Vets were more engaging and a better fit for some of the upcoming Show Group events" blahblahblah.

Kelli is terrible at PR.  I would have bought that Jalyn didn't have a sparkling personality or a special WOW factor coming out of her mouth more than what we got.  I think Jalyn is very pretty and an excellent dancer, but I also get where her appearance isn't everyone's cup of tea.  But again, SELL IT KELLI.  Sheesh. 

The whole episode was choppy and weird, and I thought it displayed Amy in a poor light dance wise.  I thought they would at least sell us on her amazing-ness before dropping the triangle bomb.  Several clips they've shown of her have shown her to be off count, making mistakes, etc.

I’m not following. The post I quoted specifically referred to Jalyn performing poorly, which simply was not shown. There’s certainly plenty of things that could’ve happened. We didn’t see them. That’s all I’m saying.

The “Jalyn just wasn’t noticed or performed poorly” angle is no less speculative than the “VK got her cut” story. People can believe can believe what they want, but I’m not giving the benefit of the doubt to people who have control in the editing room. 

I don’t base my opinions on how things turn out for my favorites. My bad feelings about this episode aren’t out of affection for Jalyn. If Rachel W, who I don’t like at all, had been cut and then treated like crap, I would have the same opinion.

We're talking about the same Kelli who doesn't understand why fans were upset about Victoria last season, and who doesn't understand why some don't think she should be on the squad.  And even if she explained why Jalyn didn't make show group, at this point, the damage has been done.

It's clear that there are two opposing camps regarding Victoria. Either you think she's come back stronger and better this year, or you think she skated onto the team because of her connections. I actually don't dislike her and think that she could have made the team this year on her own merits. That being said, I don't find her the best in the room by any stretch of the imagination. Better than Bridget or Gina? Really? IMHO, she's not even the best rookie. From what they've shown, I think Amanda, Lisa and Kelcey are better. I have yet to be wowed with any clip they've shown of VK. I think she's a blender at best. I also think that she's benefited from a very favorable edit this year. TPTB have been careful to only show her in a positive light. There's a clear narrative to make us believe she's so good. If she actually is, then show it. A prolonged clip of her outdancing capable vets beside her would shut every one up. I don't need Kelli oohing and ahhing edited to a 5 second clip, because that's what you want me to see and believe. SHOW ME THE MONEY! Back up the best in the room talk with undeniable video. Shut me up with a clip of her amazing dancing. Make me eat my words. It's this lack of transparency that leaves me questioning what the truth actually is.

She looked good in the middle of that dance at the veteran hospital.   She looked good in what they showed of her solo.  She looked good last year in that bonus clip of the mentoring session w/ MRS.

Someone posted a video of her here. Mind, you, this is a video she created herself (it was in black and white) - it could have been heavily edited.  Who knows how many takes it took.  It was still bad.  When someone said she danced, "heavily" - I agree.  Her leaps are so low.  She may have extension - but it's not so obvious that you take notice. She had a chance to highlight her strengths and she didn't, probably because she can't.   She's a blender - and what bothers me so much about her - is TPTB keep on forcing her on us.  Tina is Kelli's BFF? I do think legacies should be given extra consideration when it comes to making the team, and I'm even ok with taking a team of 37 or 38 instead of 36 if they have a legacy or two who are right on the cusp, especially if the mom is or has been heavily involved with DCC since retiring. For example, I think Dayton (Shelly's daughter) should have made the team last year.

I think Victoria has been given a lot of special treatment, favoritism, and grace that wasn't extended to other legacies (Dayton last year, Madeline S.) who were just as good or better, and I don't think her name would have even been in the conversation for show group if she weren't Tina's daughter. For me, she's either blending and I don't notice her at all, or she's standing out in a bad way because she's sloppy or in someone else's space. She's not the worst in the room but she's also not one of the best. I don't know what Travis, Kelli, and others are seeing that makes them insist Victoria is an amazing dancer and the best in the room, but the dancing we see on the show certainly doesn't reflect that for me.

I don't buy Jalyn got out danced.  I think the reason is personal and more than likely petty.  Keli really did not give critical criticism.  People usually don't when they are being petty.  Reality TV loves to embarrass people for drama and ratings.  Showing Jalyn getting out danced would have made a better narrative for her storyline of not making it back into show group.  So, why leave "those clips" in the editing room--that's crazy?  I have experiences being on a team, not dance but people are people everywhere.  I let my coach down with a rookie mistake.  I had some great moments afterwards.  One of my best moments on the team my coach told me she did not see it when I asked her, but everybody did and congratulated me before I recognized it myself.  The coach refused to fully give me props until it was my time to leave the team. People that don't want to be pleased will not be pleased.  Keli not noticing Jalyn doesn't mean much to me based on my life experiences.

Oh Kelli's body language in relation to Jalyn was totally tense & negative. Whether someone mentioned Jalyn to her or when she was in Jalyn's presence, I saw a whole lot of side-eye, pursed lips, narrowed eyes and stand-offish body positioning from Kelli. As for who was being toxic, the only person I got any toxic vibe from in that whole episode was Kelli. One thought I had about her comment of Jalyn not being "supportive of her teammates" was that for Kelli, the underlining meaning is that Jalyn is not being supportive of VK. I think the real reason that Kelli was ticked off over Jalyn going to the locker room was that she didn't immediately run over to VK to hug her & say congratulations. Kelli wants to see these girls bow to VK & "kiss the ring".

In regards to the cameras being focused on Jalyn, I think that was done in the hopes of catching her being negative or having an attitude such as making a face, avoiding VK, pouting all through rehearsal, ect. Anything that could be used to show her as not being a team player & that could justify her being cut. I got the feeling that Kelli was looking for an excuse to cut her, but she knew she would need visual proof so that once the episode aired she could be like "well look at how Jalyn was behaving. She gave me no choice. We can't have someone with an attitude like that on the team no matter how good of a dancer she is." In that she was disappointed because Jalyn kept it together even when face to face with Kelli's hostility so Kelli was just left with excess shots of Jalyn that she probably worked hard to construct the flimsy premise we saw. Hence all the weird & choppy editing.

Speaking of the editing, how did that shot of the names of who made show group get allowed in? I mean its basically proof of sketchiness since we can see that Jalyn's name was on it, then crossed out and VK's name written in place of it. You would think that Kelli would have squashed that shot, but maybe she didn't think we'd see it. But obviously she doesn't know how we pause, screenshot & zoom in on many of these scenes!

I believe they would have shown us if she performed poorly.  You can't show what you don't have.

Kelli has never even tried to get us to believe that.  Votes are opinions.  The judges opinions are taken into consideration.  Those votes are often referred to later, but again, not even KF claims it is a majority vote.

I really don’t think Travis Wall is so desperate for screen time that he’d resort to these things for attention...lol.   He’s very famous in the dance world and has been a part of things WAY bigger than DCC MTT for years.

Oh believe me, I know who and what Travis Wall is.  I like him.  Some of his pieces have brought me to tears.  But in their world, you get forgotten quickly.  You have to keep working it and increasing your audience.  When he was first on, many in our little family here didn't know who he was.  So, by being on DCCMTT, he definitely increased his name recognition.  So, yeah, I DEFINITELY believe he's kissing ass for screen time.

Professional - no, she doesn't even understand there is a line between personal and professional much less respect it

Cancer in the clubhouse - yes, and it just didn't have to be that way.  (That is the most annoying thing to me)

100% this. All we needed of Holly Powell was a ten second clip of her dancing next to ANYONE on the team to know she was in a different league. Not subjective, not up to personal preference, just fact. They’re trying to paint VK (who I think actually has gotten stronger) as a Holly, when she CLEARLY isn’t. Unfortunately, it’s backfiring and VK is getting more criticism than she would have, had they just let her fade into the background. False narratives never play well and are easily disproved. Holly made top 40 at SYTYCD auditions -which is incredible- and VK couldn’t even get one foot through the door. Rightfully so. Do I think she’s strong enough to be on the team? This year, yes. Am I biggly irritated that we’re being treated like lobotomy recipients in regards to last year’s dumpster fire of lying, manipulation, and disrespect, from a spoiled and entitled monster child? Hells yes. Do I want to BREAK THINGS that VK’s toxicity is being projected onto sweet Jalyn??? Deeeeeep breathes. YES.

Having actually danced on a world class dance team for years, this is not a new storyline or scenario for me. This kind of BS happens at all levels in every organization. But they really aren’t helping VK in this scenario, both with viewers and her teammates.  One of the reasons dancers (or any artist for that matter)are willing to put up with so much garbage in regards to monetary compensation is that they love their craft— and for the deeply personal friendships they forge along the way. Kelli, TPTB, and VK, are minimizing what it actually means to be a DCC and the experience itself with these stunts. Stop trying to shove the square peg into a round hole. There’s a square hole that she easily could have slipped into and made everyone’s experience (the dancers, and the viewers) much more enjoyable/real.

And for the love of all that’s holy stop calling the square peg a diamond. We’re not idiots.

Improved - yes, but she should be!  If TK and friends haven't been locking her in the studio and giving her a private every night shame on them

Professional - no, she doesn't even understand there is a line between personal and professional much less respect it

Except she is actually good and multiple people have said so on the show - we’re on episode 7 and all her feedback has been positive but one person, and that person just didn’t notice her.  She outscored multiple vets - many of which were on show group last year - at finals. 

What’s more likely? - a vast conspiracy of every judge and every guest choreographer, including many who are really big names outside of CMT or DCC...oh and every editor and producer on CMT - OR that she actually is a good dancer and has improved/matured.   And no one is saying she’s as good as Holly Powell - just that she’s good enough to be in show group, might be better than Jayln, and just might be the best rookie in TC right now.

I mean the girl was cut last year and was given a horrible edit on the show - if everyone was on this mission to make sure she makes the team, why didn’t they just just put her on then?  Or at least make sure CMT gave her a good edit - since the conspirators are able to control CMT now?

OMG, this. I'm not a dancer, but this is exactly what I see. Her movements are heavy, uncontrolled. To my untrained eye, she looks fine--even good--in the DCC power pom style. But she does not have the same technique as the rest of the dancers on Show Group. Even rookie Taylor seemed to out-dance her at the SG auditions.

Personally, I don’t think it’s a “big conspiracy” so much as people like Travis, Denise and, especially Melissa, want to be featured on this show. You want to be asked back? You’re going to have to give praise to VK. I’m not even saying Kelli has verbally mandated it but my guess is it’s an unspoken thing. She’s not the worst TCC but she’s certainly not even close to being the best (Kelsey, Chandi, Amanda and Lisa to name a few) and yet she’s the only one who’s consistently spoken about. Rewatching on Pluto, that kind of honor used to be reserved for the MAJOR standouts - Melissa, Amy T, Holly, hell even my least favorite ever Jenn K.

The majority of my issue with all of this echos what many people have stated before. Any other TCC who behaved the way Victoria did last year would have been dismissed and given a Whitney like “you’re not right for this team” talk. Instead, Kelli decided to UP the ante and not only put her on the team but gave her a spot on show group which in the past has honored their best ambassador dancers, which she is not.

Had Victoria taken even 1 year off to do literally anything else, and came back truly more grown up and a better dancer, I would have been fine with her making the team. Her teeth bother me but otherwise she’s got great legs and I’ll admit she’s probably better than the Morgan’s, Teri’s, insert your choice here. But that’s not what happened.

This is the thing. VK doesn't have to stand out. She will automatically be noticed because of who she is. And during deliberations, the judges--consciously or not--are going to want to vote her in because of who she is and what she means to Kelli (and some of them, as well). It is what it is, but let's not claim she's in the top 18 dance or performance-wise.

Just watched the episode and Victoria didn't stand out to me as that great during show group auditions. Certainly not when they showed her dancing next to Caroline, and cut to Melissa saying she liked her. Like what? She didn't look like she was doing much while Caroline was popping! Of course with editing , we don't know if that's really the exact time Melissa pointed her out. Sure she may be good enough for the team, but she's definitely not one of their top dancers. IMO

VK dances hard. So hard that she throws herself out of balance- A LOT - and moves into others space. This WAS highlighted as a critique last year from Kelli and Judy. She was somewhat s****** with overly large movements (partly because she does have long limbs) and they told her to work on that. I do NOT see a difference this year in that area - however she does look good and has legs to die for! She attracts attention - no question. With a slimmer body she's more than qualified for DCC. As for show group... they should have waited a year at least to give it to her. Or, as others have said, show us some longer clips  that justify the pick. While we are at it, show some longer clips that justify Jalyn's cut. Without those, you have more bad PR.

Because of her weight. It was too obvious. If she looked like she does now last year, she absolutely would have made it. No denying she looks really good this year. I think she's really pretty, actually.

Looks like Shaina went back to being blonde. I don't know about anyone else but I think I prefer that on her. Seeing her old pics on Instagram at the beginning of TC, I always thought it looked better on her. Although I guess she might stand out more as a redhead.

I don't think VK is a bad dancer and she has improved from last year, but there is no way in hell that she's better than Jalyn. And as far as rookies go, VK is not better than Kelcey or Amanda.

I always love the DCC who look a little 'different', those who are beautiful but not in a model-esque way. Jayln is one of those for me! Many of the 'Kelli-pretty' DCC have had bland personalities!

Just because they keep feeding us this very specific and repetitive narrative doesn’t mean that it’s completely accurate.  They control the footage and the edit.

We all knew Holly was a superstar because they showed it, all the time!  

If they had a dancer anywhere near her caliber, I believe we would be seeing it.
